Chapter 7 The First Family Meeting
Under the first ray of sunlight in the early morning, the whole world seems to be shrouded in soft morning mist.
Carl was very aware of the arrival of the other two members of the Fisher family. He could sense their blood very clearly through the family imprint and could even judge the time when they arrived at the cabin.
Now, three days had passed since the cultist's attack and the night the girl had been branded, and Irene still hadn't figured out how to obtain the mysterious object.
For a young girl who is not very well-informed, it is really too difficult.
She sat in the wooden house taking care of her brother, slowly raising her hand with the red mark, always feeling that she should do something with this power.
But the plan in the girl's mind was still vague and she could never put it into shape.
Just when Irene was at a loss, she suddenly felt the red mark on the back of her hand getting slightly hot, as if some kind of connection was being transmitted from nearby.
She subconsciously looked up outside the wooden house. A wooden cart pulled by an old black horse was slowly approaching, leaving deep axle marks on the muddy ground.
Irene swallowed subconsciously, knowing clearly in her mind that the remnants of the cultists were buried under that piece of mud.
Lucius and Byrne, who were standing next to the wooden cart, were also stunned for a moment. They sensed an extremely subtle induction in the blood connection. This was the source that called them every time in the night.
Lucius narrowed his eyes habitually and held the hilt of the sword at his waist cautiously, ready to draw it at any time.
Irene came out of the wooden house holding her baby brother, looked at the people she had never seen in Nasir Town, and asked in confusion, "Who are you?"
Byrne subconsciously shrank back behind his father, not daring to face the stranger.
Lucius smiled and replied, "I am a retired mercenary named Lucius Fisher. What's your name, little girl?"
Irene was slightly stunned. The person in front of her also had the surname Fisher. What was going on?
She vaguely remembered that her father once said that he had an uncle, but she always felt that if the man in front of her was that uncle, it would be too coincidental.
Byrne, who was standing behind Lucius, suddenly looked up and said, "Father, she is most likely my cousin."
Lucius suddenly had all sorts of questions in his mind, and he smiled and asked, "How did you come up with that?"
Byrne still seemed very nervous, but continued to explain:
"Well, father, you once said that she had a brother in Nasir, and there is also a red mark on the back of her hand. I speculate that, well, it is probably a mysterious thing that can only be produced by blood."
Hearing this, Irene took a deep breath and realized that both of them were her blood relatives, and they might have come here in response to the call of the Lord of the Lost.
So that's how it is. The girl suddenly understood the true meaning of the scarlet mark.
She tried to remain calm and said, "It is a gift from the great Lost Lord. From now on, all members of the Fisher family will be His followers, and I am also a child of the Fisher family."
Lucius nodded silently, his eyes gleaming, his lazy temperament swept away as he continued:
"It seems that you are indeed my brother's daughter. Why haven't you seen him and your mother? And all the things about the Lost Lord... Please tell us in detail."
When Lucius was halfway through his words, he had already seen the undisguised sadness in Irene's expression, and instantly guessed that his brother's current situation would definitely not be good, and his expression also became melancholy.
"Brother, maybe I should come back earlier."
The socially anxious boy Byrne suddenly asked a question hesitantly.
"Is the mysterious being you mentioned really a god? Even if he is a god, he could be an evil god. Does the Fisher family really have to believe in him?"
Hearing the questioning voices, Irene's face showed indifference, and the dissatisfaction in her eyes made Byrne feel cold all over.
"You have no right to question Him!"
She shook her head and turned back into the cabin. The father and son who stayed outside looked at each other.
Carl silently observed the two people who arrived.
The older man was a seasoned and experienced mercenary, and was clearly the most useful “chess piece” in the Fisher family today.
noon.
The two suns, "Jiaoyang" and "Huiyang", rise high in the sky, emitting almost endless warm light.
"Please look at what I said. Everything I said is true. This is the extraordinary power bestowed upon me by the Lord of Loss."
Irene had already put her brother down. She raised one hand calmly, emitting a subtle and gentle emerald green light, giving off a scent like the arrival of spring.
Lucius and Byrne were both standing in the cabin, both staring at the scene in amazement, and then they stared at the transparent bottle with uneasy and at a loss.
Carl could clearly feel that the specific content of their emotions was different.
Byrne, the nervous and timid boy, has a suppressed curiosity in his anxiety. He is very interested in his own existence, but is too afraid to try to explore it.
He understood that mysterious beings symbolized power but also represented great danger.
The eyes of the thirty-something Lucius seemed calm, but in fact he was deliberately hiding astonishment, joy, worry, greed, and finally a kind of determination.
He seemed to have made up his mind, hoping to use the current opportunity to accomplish something. Even the laziness and decadence that had penetrated his bones were swept away in an instant.
Carl knew very well that Lucius and his son were shocked by the extraordinary power displayed by Irene!
Whether they are spellcasters or bloodline knights, the extraordinary people on the continent of Oden are all born with spellcasting talents or corresponding bloodlines, which give them the opportunity to go further and become extraordinary people.
Talent and bloodline determine the upper limit of most people's lives.
As for the mysterious objects or the blessings from mysterious beings, they are ultimately just extraordinary powers that can be taken away by others or are temporary and short-lived.
A mortal without spellcasting talent or bloodline can never truly possess extraordinary powers!
But the power that I possess breaks this iron rule!
Lucius smiled unconcealably, suppressed the excitement deep in his heart, and said respectfully:
"Great Lord of the Lost, I am Lucius, the oldest man in the Fisher family today."
"The Fisher family will absolutely serve you, loyally and wholeheartedly. Everything we do is for your great revival!"
Having said that, there was actually no awe in the depths of his eyes.
The man just wanted to take advantage of the mysterious power that suddenly appeared.
A guy who is blinded by greed, but can also be a suitable "chess piece", Carl silently evaluated Lucius. He can't do much relying on the young siblings. He does not reject the existence of "chess pieces" with their own ideas.
So the next moment, Carl conveyed his will again.
He gave Lucius the "protective" power contained in the purple finger amulet.
Although it is much weaker than the "healing" rune in the transparent bottle, the "protection" rune can also play a significant role in low-level fights.
Suddenly, Lucius sensed the great existence of the Lord of Loss, a great power that was too vast to be described in words. A black cross of light kept flickering in the transparent bottle. Compared with it, his own existence was as insignificant as the most humble dust in the world!
How great!
The conspiracy in his mind disappeared in an instant, leaving only fear, and he even wanted to crawl to the ground.
How foolish I was to try to take advantage of such a great existence!
The next moment, purple light slowly appeared in Lucius' eyes, which were filled with awe.
He felt some powerful force being given to him deep within his soul, which could be activated through his connection with the Lord of the Lost.
After tentatively activating that extraordinary power, Lucius felt something deep in his heart being slightly consumed, and then an invisible repulsive force emerged around his body, which could effectively resist external attacks.
Ordinary people may never see supernatural powers in their entire lives, but now Lucius has it easily, and he can't help but feel extremely excited!
"So this is the legendary extraordinary power. Great Lord of the Lost, thank you for your gift. I, the Fisher Family, will dedicate everything to help you recover!"
Lucius was ecstatic, and Byrne, who was not far away, was also very excited, and he was very clearly aware that his destiny had completely changed from this moment on.
The road ahead was uncertain, and the young man felt excited but also felt a great deal of tension and fear in his heart.
What kind of god is the Lost Lord who controls the fate of the Fisher family?
What will our future be?
Lucius thought for a moment, then bowed his head respectfully and asked, "Great Lord of the Lost, it seems like something has been consumed in my body just now. What is that thing that has disappeared?"
"Is it what the spellcaster calls magic power?"
Carl pondered for a moment and realized clearly the importance of teaching a few people basic mystical knowledge, which could help the members of the Fisher family avoid many detours.
Although each time information is transmitted, spiritual energy is consumed, and the greater the amount of information, the greater the consumption, but sharpening the knife does not delay the chopping of wood, Carl still decides to transmit the basic mysterious knowledge at the cost of consuming some spiritual energy.
He planned to pass on only one copy of the mysterious knowledge, and the rest of the Fisher family members only needed to consult the person who had been given the knowledge.
As for who he would impart knowledge to, Carl had already decided on who.
"Great Lord of the Lost, I sense your will. Are you planning to generously grant me mysterious knowledge?"
Irene looked up with great respect, realizing that the great God wanted to give her precious mysterious knowledge.
She is ready.
Carl no longer hesitated to pass on the mysterious knowledge.
All of a sudden, the girl felt dizzy and her head was swollen. A sharp pain instantly flooded into her mind, and she fell to her knees on the ground as if her whole body was about to be torn apart.
