Chapter 378 Something bad has happened, Mr. Tan.

While Xing Zhaoming was busy running back and forth between Lanyuan and the capital, Tan Zhe discovered the abandoned cellar where the door to time travel might be located. He rushed home excitedly and immediately went into his mother's room. He excitedly told the woman, who was sitting in her rocking chair as usual, holding a doll, "Mom, I think I've found the door. Once I confirm it, I'll take you there to see it."

After saying that, he turned around and went back to his study. He took out the testing instruments that hadn't been used for a long time and locked them in a box. He carefully adjusted them and prepared to take them to the abandoned cellar the next day to test whether there was really any abnormal energy there.

He was completely unaware that his mother, who had remained unresponsive to the outside world for years and whose condition had not improved despite seeing countless doctors, suddenly brightened her eyes, her lips moved, and she kept saying words only she could hear: "Home...home...I want to go home...Dad..."

The next day, as usual, Tan Zhe waited for the nanny he had hired to take care of his mother to arrive at home, then he packed his bag and went out to the abandoned cellar in the mountains.

As usual, the nanny fed Tan Zhe's mother, Mrs. Tan, breakfast and then started cleaning.

Although Grandma Tan doesn't react to the outside world, she's not disabled and is still easy to take care of. She'll do whatever you ask her to do, and when you don't ask her to do something, she'll sit in her favorite rocking chair, lost in her own thoughts, very well-behaved, and you don't have to worry about her running around at all.

The nanny was busy cleaning, completely unaware that at this time of day, Grandma Tan, who would usually stay obediently in her room, would not need her help. Instead, she stood up from her favorite rocking chair, holding her doll, and went out on her own.

At that moment, the nanny was sweeping the floor in Tan Zhe's study when she vaguely heard a "click" sound of a door closing outside. She paused for a moment, peeked out of the study, looked towards the doorway from which the sound came, and tentatively called out, "Who is it?"

She never imagined that Old Mrs. Tan might have gone out. She thought that Tan Zhe might not have locked the door properly when he left, and someone might have sneaked in. She even went to the entrance hall and the connected living room to check, and when she made sure that no one had come in, she assumed that she had misheard and went back to the study to continue cleaning.

After cleaning the house, the nanny went to Grandma Tan's room as usual. Following Tan Zhe's instructions, she prepared to take Grandma Tan for a walk in the neighborhood: "Grandma, it's time to go out again."

Seeing the empty rocking chair, the nanny was stunned. She quickly recovered and frantically began searching everywhere: "Grandma, where are you? I heard you creak, please..."

She searched under the bed, in the closet, and even in the toilet, but found nothing.

The nanny was so anxious she cried.

Soon, she remembered the "click" sound of the door closing that she had heard while cleaning, and realized that someone had either come in or the old lady had probably run out.

"Oh no!" the nanny cried, not daring to delay, and quickly chased after her.

Fortunately, there are many elderly people in the community, and the caregiver often takes Grandma Tan out for walks. She has become familiar with many people and has met them all.

Following the directions of a kind person, the nanny chased after the old lady all the way to the outside of the residential area. Looking at the traffic coming and going outside, she knew that it was no use; it would be impossible for her to find the old lady on her own.

She immediately called Tan Zhe: "Something's wrong, Mr. Tan, Grandma Tan has gone missing."

Tan Zhe had already arrived at the abandoned cellar, set up the detection equipment, and was conducting the first round of testing. He was thrilled to see the abnormal energy fluctuations displayed on the equipment and carefully noted them down.

My phone suddenly rang.

Tan Zhe was very annoyed by being suddenly interrupted at work. He took out his phone and was about to hang up when he saw that the caller ID was his nanny. He immediately sensed that something was wrong. Could something have happened to his elderly mother?

He answered it quickly.

As soon as the call connected, before he could say anything, he heard the nanny's hoarse voice on the other end: "Something terrible has happened, Mr. Tan, Grandma Tan has gone missing."

"What?" Tan Zhe was shocked. He didn't even bother to pack his things before rushing back.

Not long after Tan Zhe left, a slender figure staggered from another direction and found the abandoned cellar. It was Old Mrs. Tan.

Relying on her memories from a very, very long time ago, she came from the direction she originally entered the village, but unexpectedly, the reservoir blocked her way. Not knowing which route to take, she stubbornly chose to go around the reservoir, and surprisingly, she actually managed to get around it.

Seeing the familiar cellar, a look of surprise appeared on Old Mrs. Tan's blank face: "Father... I... am... back..."

She struggled to climb over the pile of stones and finally made it down to the abandoned cellar, but the smile on her face instantly froze.

The door is gone.

Grandma Tan rushed over frantically, digging her fingers into the wall, which was completely creviced: "Where...is the door? Why...is there no door? I want...to go home. Why...is there no door?"
