Seeing that the three people had walked away and never returned, Xiao Qinshi finally breathed a sigh of relief. He looked at Xing Zhaozhao with a serious expression and asked, "Sister Xing, who were those three people?"
Xing Zhaozhao's expression was also not good. She shook her head and said, "I don't know, but he doesn't look like a good person."
"If I'm not mistaken, those scrap coppers you received before most likely came from him by accident," Xing Zhaozhao said meaningfully as she looked at Xiao Qin.
Xiao Qin nodded in agreement and said, "It's not just a possibility, it should be."
"If you ever see them again, stay away from them. And don't go back to Liu Family Village," Xing Zhaozhao instructed Xiao Qin.
"Hmm," Xiao Qin replied, then asked uncertainly, "Are they really from Liu Family Village?"
"Anyway, whether it is or not, just assume it is. It's never wrong to be cautious," Xing Zhaozhao said.
Just then, Fu Hong and Fu Lan came over carrying Xiao Hongling.
Fu Hong overheard Xing Zhaozhao and Xiao Qinshi's conversation and said dismissively, "It's just some scrap copper. It's not like we're going to take it. It's not like we're going to make a big deal out of it."
Xing Zhaozhao and Xiao Qinshi exchanged a knowing glance. The scrap copper wasn't exactly treasure, but there was something hidden inside.
Fu Lan knew about the little secret between Xing Zhaozhao and Xiao Qinshi. She glanced at them quickly, her eyes flashing, and explained to Fu Hong with a smile, "Even if it's just some scrap copper, you can make a lot of money selling it to the scrap yard. Xiao Shi is still young, so it's only right that he be careful when he encounters other people in the same industry."
Fu Hong thought about it and agreed, nodding and saying, "That's true."
For Fu Hong, this was no big deal. After saying that, she quickly put the matter out of her mind and focused all her attention on the huge wild boar in front of her, which looked like a small mountain. Her eyes sparkled as she said, "What a big wild boar! This is the first time I've ever seen one."
"We're in luck today, we got a wild boar for free. When you go back with Xiao Shi later, take some back with you to try." Xing Zhaozhao said with a smile.
Fu Hong was a little embarrassed: "How can that be? We didn't do anything."
Xing Zhaozhao waved her hand dismissively, saying, "Why not? Everyone gets a share. I hunted it, so I get to decide. Besides, such a big wild boar is far too much for our family to finish. Wouldn't it be a waste if it went bad?"
“It shouldn’t spoil.” Fu Lan shook her head, thought of something, and looked at Xing Zhaozhao, saying, “Sister Xing, you’re carrying such a big wild boar down there, it’s bound to make a mistake. Let alone spoil it, it probably won’t even keep.”
Xing Zhaozhao was taken aback, but quickly realized what was happening.
Such a large wild boar certainly can't stay hidden in the forest forever. If it attracts a ferocious beast, not only will the wild boar be in danger, but their own lives will also be in jeopardy.
Unfortunately, there are quite a few people going into the mountains today. If we move it down now, it definitely won't be able to be hidden. Wild boars are not like wild rabbits or pheasants. If you dare to embezzle such a large piece of meat, you'll be dragged out and publicly criticized the next day.
"Never mind." Xing Zhaozhao sighed helplessly, patting the large wild boar regretfully. "We probably can't save this wild boar."
“But aren’t there still a few piglets? I’ll go find them. Later, you and Xiaoshi can each take one back,” Xing Zhaozhao said with a smile to Fu Hong.
She doesn't want the big wild boar, but she should be allowed to keep a few piglets, right? Captain Gao has always been reasonable.
Upon hearing that Xing Zhaozhao was going to find the piglets, the three little ones' eyes lit up immediately, and they all raised their hands: "I want to go find the piglets too!"
Xing Zhaozhao couldn't refuse, so she had to bring all three little ones along, leaving Fu Hong and Fu Lan to watch over the big wild boar. She then followed the trail the wild boar had left behind and continued searching deeper into the woods.
Hongyu and Hongfei, along with General Hei, led the way.
Don't let General Black's current status as just a puppy fool you; its nose is incredibly sensitive. Sniffing around, it quickly moved past the trail of the wild boar.
Xing Zhaozhao followed closely behind, with Xiao Qin in tow.
As they ventured deeper into the woods, Xing Zhaozhao grew increasingly suspicious. What was Liu Feiyue doing bringing his men into the mountains? They were empty-handed, not even taking a piglet; they certainly weren't there to hunt for wild game.
Beside her, Xiao Qin couldn't help but ask curiously, "Sister Xing, what do you think they're doing running so deep here?"
Xing Zhaozhao shook her head: "I don't know, but it doesn't look like anything good. However, it's none of our business, so we won't get involved." To avoid getting into trouble.
Just then, the barking of General Black came from not far ahead.
Xing Zhaozhao's eyes lit up; she must have found them. She immediately quickened her pace and chased after them. When she arrived, she saw that there were indeed nine piglets in total, all from the same litter. She tied them up with ropes, gave each of the three little ones three piglets, and led them back home.
Before leaving, Xing Zhaozhao carefully looked around the pigsty and soon found traces of the three people who had passed by. They had come from deeper in the woods, but somehow took a wrong turn and wandered into the wild boar's den, where they were chased away by the wild boar.
Xing Zhaozhao glanced at the direction the three people had come from, hesitated for a moment, and then left a mark on a nearby tree, just in case.
"Mom, let's go." Hongyu's anxious voice came from behind.
"Coming," Xing Zhaozhao replied and quickly followed after them.
With an extra large wild boar and nine piglets, Xing Zhaozhao and her group didn't stay in the woods any longer and set off for home.
Outside the woods, the village children were scattered in twos and threes, picking wild mountain vegetables.
Suddenly, a rustling sound came from deep in the woods. One of the children turned around curiously and saw a huge wild boar emerge from the woods. He immediately turned pale with fright and ran away, shouting, "Oh no! The big wild boar is coming!"
Hearing this, the children around panicked and, forgetting their own little baskets, tried to run down the mountain.
In the chaos, one child accidentally fell and burst into tears. One child cried, and the others, frightened, joined in. The wailing echoed through the woods.
Xing Zhaozhao carried the wild boar, looked at the children crying all around her, her lips twitched, and she didn't know what to say for a moment.
Little Hongling was sleeping soundly on Fu Lan's back when she was suddenly awakened by crying. Before she even opened her eyes, she started wailing, her voice like a demon, instantly drowning out all other sounds around her.
Fu Lan quickly stuffed the little cloth tiger into her hands.
Little Red Riding instinctively took a bite of the tiger's head and instantly calmed down.
As Xiao Hongling's crying stopped, the crying of the other children gradually subsided as well. Some of the bolder and more curious children looked over and quickly realized something was wrong.
Before long, Xing Zhaozhao and the others were surrounded by children.
"That wild boar is huge..."
"Did you hit me, Aunt Xing?"
"Aunt Xing is amazing."
"Little Feather, your mom is amazing! Can I trade places with you?"
"No, Mom is mine."
"Little Feather, can I pet the wild boar? I'll trade you candy for it."
"No, I have my own candy."
"Then I'll give you a penny; I've been saving it up for a long time."
"make a deal."
Xing Zhaozhao: "..." This brat needs to be disciplined again.
