Chapter 755: Undercurrents

Chapter 755: Undercurrents

On Sunday, Gu Hua went to the school library to return books. As soon as she came out, she received a call from Chen Jishen.

The incident that caused trouble in Haishi has now been resolved, and court hearings will begin tomorrow. Chen Jishen asked her to come to his studio to discuss the follow-up matters, to see which issues can be settled privately and which should be pursued to the end.

Gu Hua hung up the phone, immediately found a bicycle, and headed to the school gate.

There were few people on the school roads on the weekend. After parking her bicycle, Gu Hua took a taxi to Chen Jishen's studio.

Because I started my own business and didn't rely on my family, I was short of funds, so the studio was located in a suburban area.

It took about forty minutes to reach our destination.

After getting off the bus, Gu Hua saw Chen Jishen waiting in front of her.

"This place is too remote. Have you considered moving back to the city center?" Gu Hua looked around and saw that there were only two or three office buildings and a square nearby. The rest were residential buildings, and it was far from the school. Gu Hua asked loudly.

Reaching out to take the backpack from Gu Hua's shoulder, Chen Jishen smiled and said, "Although this place is neither convenient nor luxurious, we still handle quite a few small cases, especially for the local residents. They know that we are law students from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and the consultation fees are not high, so they are very willing to come to our studio for consultation and problem-solving. Although the studio has only been open for a short time, it is very busy. Other senior students live nearby, which is very convenient. I am the only one who is working a bit harder. However, this is all temporary. Once our young lawyers have enough experience, they will move back to the city center and move here."

Gu Hua nodded upon hearing this: "Hearing you say that, I feel that interning here is much better than interning at a big company. I'll come here to learn during the winter and summer vacations!"

Although they may seem like trivial matters, these are often the most complex issues concerning ordinary people, and it is indeed very challenging to gain experience here!

After turning a corner in front of the square, you'll reach the main entrance of this building. Enter the lobby, go up to the 15th floor, and a studio of about 1,000 square meters will appear before you.

"Most of the employees here are students from our school, and some are hired from outside. Those hired are all quite capable and are mainly responsible for big cases. It's the weekend now, and everyone is resting. Only I and some people who need to work overtime are here. I've already ordered lunch, and it should be ready soon. Let's go to my office first."

As Chen Jishen spoke, he led Gu Hua into his office.

I passed by several rows of office cubicles and didn't see a single person, but the occasional sound of keyboards clicking in the distance proved that someone was indeed working overtime.

Chen Jishen's office is simple, silver-white, young, stylish, clean and minimalist.

"The food hasn't arrived yet. What would you like to drink? We have milk, juice, and tea."

Gu Hua shook her head upon hearing this: "Mineral water is fine. Let me see the documents. How many people do I need to message privately?"

Chen Jishen opened a bottle of water and placed it next to Gu Hua, smiling as he said, "There are quite a few. Most of them are students who are under the age of 18 and still in school, and some are people with stable jobs. They said they were just talking nonsense, and when they saw others saying this, they just joined in because they thought it was funny. They didn't mean any harm. They are willing to apologize and compensate, but they don't want the people around them to know about this. There are also some people who haven't responded at all. Everyone is saying that the law doesn't punish those who follow it. Some big V's are even making a fuss, thinking that we definitely won't go to court!"

Gu Hua looked through the cases where apologies had been made.

"If they didn't explicitly insult anyone and they're students, make them apologize. Don't ask for compensation, but make sure their school knows about the apology. The same goes for those people from other organizations. Some things can't be easily forgiven just by an apology. They have to pay a price and learn a lesson before they'll remember! As for those who are incorrigible and don't know their mistakes, there's nothing more to say. Let the law teach them a lesson!"

After saying that, he put the document on the table.

Chen Jishen put the things away: "That's what I think too. So it's decided then. I'll let them know later."

Okay, the food is here.

After the two finished their meal, Chen Jishen couldn't go back with them because he was busy with work. He put Gu Hua in the car and then turned to leave.

Shortly after Gu Hua got into the car, her phone rang.

"Hey, Ayin, what's wrong?"

Gu Xian looked out the window with a smile and nodded: "Okay, I'll bring you roast duck when I get back! We'll be home in half an hour, good!"

After hanging up the phone, he looked at the driver, his gaze meeting the other's in the rearview mirror. Seeing nothing amiss, he smiled and said, "Driver, turn around for a second, I need to buy roast duck!"

The man shifted his gaze and nodded quickly: "Okay! No problem! The roast duck will be just coming out of the oven at this time!" With that, he turned the steering wheel and changed the road.

Gu Xiang looked down at his phone with an unpredictable expression.
