Chapter 13 Lu Erbai's Legs
Lu Erbai couldn't help but look at Sanya. Even if the little girl had self-control, she was still young and had never eaten anything good before, so he couldn't help but glance at the meat and pastries a few more times.
Lu Erbai immediately said, "Sanya, the adults have something to talk about. Go outside and play, and see if your brother is back yet."
"Okay." The little girl nodded obediently, but after taking a few steps, she turned back to look at Shu Yu a couple of times before running away.
Shu Yu noticed something: Lu Erbai didn't seem to have told her family about the reason for her leg injury. Otherwise, given the old lady's personality, she wouldn't have treated her so calmly.
However, even though he didn't say anything, Shu Yu felt increasingly uneasy.
She couldn't help but look at his left leg and asked, "Uncle Lu, how's your leg? I overheard you talking just now, and it sounded like you fell again. Have you seen a doctor?"
Lu Erbai hurriedly said, "The village doctor is not here right now, but I think it's nothing serious. He'll be fine after a couple of days of rest."
That's what he said, but his expression told a completely different story.
Actually, he had been acting all reserved ever since he was in the courtyard.
Shu Yu naturally noticed it. "Otherwise, I'll show it to Uncle Lu."
Before Lu Erbai could speak, the old lady asked in surprise, "Does Miss Shu know medicine?"
"I know a little bit." Actually, she knows more about nursing. The reason why the big boss retired in his previous life was because he had some health problems. As his trusted secretary, even if Shu Yu is not a professional, she still needs to understand and learn about this area in case of emergency.
But seeing Shu Yu's composed demeanor, the old lady inexplicably felt that she was very capable, so she quickly got up and made way for her. "Then please take a look at my second son, Miss Shu. His leg was injured by a stone a year ago. It was set back then, but it was damaged again before it could heal properly. As you can see from our situation, we can only ask the village doctor to help set it back up, but even after so long, it hasn't healed at all."
Lu Erbai, however, blushed and felt very embarrassed. He shrank back and said, "Mother, this is not appropriate. Miss Shu is a young lady from a prominent family. How can she look at the legs of a rough man like me?"
Shu Yu had already squatted down. "Uncle Lu saved my life, so it's no trouble for me to take a look. Besides, I'm not some young lady from a wealthy family. Please just consider me a female doctor for now."
The Shu family had instructed the Taoist temple to keep Shu Yu's identity a secret, as if they were afraid that Lu Erbai would use the life-saving grace to curry favor with the Shu family. Therefore, Lu Erbai did not know who she was before.
Lu Erbai wanted to refuse, but Shu Yu had already grabbed his leg.
He immediately stopped moving. Shu Yu touched him slightly and couldn't help but frown. "Your bones are dislocated and haven't been set properly."
"Oh?" the old lady asked hurriedly, "Then what should we do?"
"Knock it off and reconnect it."
The Lu family of three stared wide-eyed, gasping sharply, "Knock, knock, knock it off??"
Shu Yu looked up at Lu Erbai with a serious expression. "If it's not reattached, it will only get worse. Especially since you fell today and there's fluid buildup in your leg, if it's not treated, it could very well block your blood vessels, and then your leg will be completely useless."
The three members of the Lu family turned pale with fright. "How could it be so serious? Our village doctor, Dr. Yan, said it was just some bruises on his leg, and that a few more plasters would do the trick."
