Chapter 29 You are Er Ya!!
Lu Dasong was so angry he almost fainted. The older this old woman Ruan got, the more unrestrained she became, saying whatever came to mind.
Unfortunately, he wasn't good with words, and though his anger was rising, he couldn't find the words to refute her.
Lu Dasong could only look at Shu Yu, "Miss Shu, I am Lu Erbai's older brother. May I ask, since you are so certain that this girl is not Er Ya, do you have any evidence?"
“Yes, if you have evidence, then produce it.” Granny Ruan said arrogantly, looking confident and not afraid at all.
The villagers outside chimed in, "Yes, Miss Shu, you can't just say someone isn't innocent without proof. How can you prove it?"
"Yeah, yeah, if you can't produce any evidence, you can't just kick her out. If she really is Er Ya, aren't you just playing the villain?"
"You can't just believe whatever you say, right? Even Erbai's wife didn't deny it."
Shu Yu frowned, glanced around, and before she could speak, she saw Da Hu and San Ya run over.
Da Hu stood in front of her to block her way, and San Ya, who was usually timid, looked up and said, "Sister Shu is a good person. She, she is not evil. Don't bully her."
Shu Yu's heart softened, and she reached out to touch her head, saying softly, "It's okay."
She patted Da Hu on the shoulder, making him stand with San Ya.
Then she looked at Madam Ruan. Madam Ruan hadn't said a word since earlier. She didn't know why, even though that girl had the same mole on her arm as Er Ya, she couldn't muster any desire to speak up for her when she saw her being beaten and scolded by Shu Yu.
When she met Shu Yu's gaze, Madam Ruan was stunned.
Those eyes...
Shu Yu turned her back to the villagers outside the courtyard and rolled up the sleeves on her arm in front of Ruan Shi.
Ruan looked down, and the next moment her eyes widened suddenly. She couldn't help but grab her arm with both hands, her gaze fixed on the two moles.
Lu Dasong was standing nearby and actually saw it too, and looked at her in shock.
"You, you have the same mole on your arm, are you Er Ya?!"
Ruan's lips trembled, "It really is you, I didn't mistake you, you are Er Ya, right? You are Er Ya, I knew it, sob sob sob..."
She was so excited that if Shu Yu hadn't been quick-witted and caught her, Ruan Shi would have collapsed to the ground.
"What?!" Upon hearing this, Granny Ruan's expression changed drastically. She hurriedly took two steps forward and also saw Shu Yu's arm.
She looked up in astonishment. "You're Er Ya? No, that's impossible, impossible."
"Why is it impossible?" Shu Yu rolled down her sleeves and laughed. "Didn't you ask me what evidence I had? I am the evidence. Since I was the child you stole and sold, then everyone else is obviously an imposter."
"You, you, no, you're not, she is."
"Her?" Shu Yu looked at the girl and sized her up and down. "Ask the villagers here, see where she resembles the Lu family from head to toe? Flat nose, thick lips, small eyes?"
"But she has a mole on her arm."
"I have one too."
Granny Ruan panicked, "Since both of you have it, how can you say you are Er Ya and that she is impersonating you?"
"Actually, it's quite simple to find out who's real and who's fake." Shu Yu looked at Madam Ruan. "I think the real Er Ya should have other markings besides these two well-known moles, right?"
