Chapter 56 Catering to Their Preferences

Chapter 56 Catering to Their Preferences

Lu Sanzhu's eyes twitched. What if he implicated himself and the entire Lu family?

Shu Yu leaned against the door with her eyes closed. "If you're scared, go back now and feed my chickens."

Lu Sanzhu was angry.

After realizing Er Ya's fighting prowess, he didn't dare to refute her words.

In the end, Lu Sanzhu did not get out of the car. Although he was extremely uneasy, he also had a strong sense of curiosity.

So when he passed the entrance to Shangshi Village, he didn't even glance in the direction of his own house.

Once the carriage arrived in Wenlan Town, Shu Yu immediately sent the mule cart back.

Watching the mule cart disappear into the distance, Shu Yu touched her chin, thinking that having a vehicle would be much more convenient.

Sigh. Time to make money.

Shu Yu walked into the town, then turned to ask Sanzhu, "Where is the Yu family's house?"

Lu Sanzhu opened his mouth, not wanting to speak, until Shu Yu's impatient expression appeared, then he suddenly pointed forward, "I'll take you there."

The Yu family truly lived up to their reputation as one of the wealthiest families in town; they resided in the best location in town.

According to Lu Sanzhu, the Yu family has houses in both the county town and the prefectural town, but they have never moved because their ancestral home is in Wenlan Town.

Shu Yu followed Lu Sanzhu to the front gate of the Yu family's house, which indeed looked very luxurious after renovations.

Shu Yu looked around and saw a tea stall not far away. She walked over and sat down, asking the owner to bring her a pot of tea.

Seeing that she didn't barge in directly, Lu Sanzhu secretly breathed a sigh of relief and hurriedly sat down opposite her, asking, "Er Ya, what exactly are you going to do about the Yu family?"

"Let's cater to their tastes," Shu Yu said decisively after a moment's thought.

Lu Sanzhu frowned, not understanding. "To cater to someone's preferences"—isn't that a phrase meant to please someone?

Shu Yu sipped her tea while looking at the front gate of the Yu family's house.

Few people ever came out of the main gate of the Yu family home; the servants who came in and out mostly used the side gate.

So after staring at it for a long time, I didn't get much out of it.

Lu Sanzhu was even more sleepy.

Another quarter of an hour passed, and finally there was movement at the gate. A well-dressed woman walked out of the gate.

Shu Yu narrowed her eyes. "Who is that?"

Lu Sanzhu jolted awake and sat up abruptly, looking around. "Who's there?"

Shu Yu pointed to the front gate of the Lu family's house, and Lu Sanzhu looked closely and said, "That's Mrs. Yu, Mr. Yu's wife."

Shu Yu looked up at the sky. "It's so late. Why is Mrs. Yu going out at this hour?"

Seeing Mrs. Yu get into the sedan chair parked at the door, Shu Yu immediately put down a few copper coins, stood up and followed her, while Lu Sanzhu hurriedly caught up.

The sedan chair slowly traveled along the street for a while before finally stopping in front of a small courtyard.

Mrs. Yu had her maid knock on the door, and a man dressed as a Taoist priest with an air of otherworldly refinement came out.

Shu Yu narrowed her eyes. Could this be the fortune teller who told Master Yu's fortune and suggested that he adopt the twins?

What to do? I'm tempted to roll up my sleeves and just rush in and beat them up.

Shu Yu watched Mrs. Yu walk into the courtyard and watched the sedan chair being temporarily carried away from the alley entrance.

Now, only Mrs. Yu, her maid, and the fortune teller remain in that courtyard.

Shu Yu looked around, found the easiest spot to climb the wall, and with a sudden push of her foot, she flipped herself up while no one was around.

Lu Sanzhu, "..." My dear niece, have you forgotten something? What about me?
