Chapter 57 already has children.
Shu Yu looked over the wall and, seeing that no one was in the courtyard, landed lightly.
There was some noise coming from the main room. Shu Yu followed the sound and saw the fortune teller and Mrs. Yu sitting in the main room talking. A maid served them tea.
After talking for only a short while, Mrs. Yu told her maid to go and keep watch in the courtyard.
When Shu Yu saw the maid come out, she quickly stepped back a few paces and hid around the corner.
The maid brought a stool and sat down by the courtyard gate.
Shu Yu frowned. If she tried to eavesdrop outside the main room again, the maid would definitely see her. What should she do?
Just as she was wondering whether she should go around to the back to take a look, she heard the fortune teller and Mrs. Yu leave the main room and enter the left wing.
The window of the side room opens directly onto the spot where Shu Yu is currently hiding.
Shu Yu was delighted and immediately opened the window a crack, squinting as she looked inside.
Who knew that at first glance, she would wish she could gouge her own eyes out.
Mrs. Yu and the fortune teller embraced and kissed as soon as they entered the door, as if they were lovers who had been separated for a long time.
Shu Yu then got a good look at the fortune teller. He was indeed handsome, and if you ignored his loose, gray Taoist robe, he really did have the look of a pretty boy.
No wonder Mrs. Yu came out of the mansion for a secret rendezvous even in the evening.
Shu Yu sighed inwardly for a moment, and then the two people in the room parted ways.
Mrs. Yu, slightly unsteady on her feet, sat down to the side, gave the fortune teller a shy glare, and said, "Look at you, so impatient. You'd better control yourself. I'm carrying our child."
Shu Yu suddenly looked up. A child?
So that's how it is. She had found it strange before; the fortune teller said that if Master Yu adopted a pair of twins, he would be able to have his own child. But what if he really did adopt them, and the child still didn't come? Wouldn't Master Yu end up tearing the fortune teller apart?
It turns out this child was conceived quite early, and it was the fortune teller's own. All that's left is to bring in the twins to prove that the fortune teller truly has real skills.
Shu Yu sneered inwardly, just as the fortune teller smiled and said, "Don't worry, this child is the foundation of our future livelihood. I won't let anything happen to him."
As he spoke, he touched Mrs. Yu's belly and asked, "The baby is almost a month along. How's the search for twins going?"
"I came here precisely to tell you about this. Didn't we run into that old woman who said her daughter had twins, a boy and a girl, and that she'd bring them over in a couple of days? I sent someone to look for her this morning. But the old woman said something unexpected happened and we'll have to wait another two days. That woman is so unreliable. I don't even know if she'll be able to bring the kids over in two days. And you, have you found those runaway twins yet?"
The fortune teller's face turned cold. "No, if those two children hadn't escaped, our plan could have been implemented long ago, and we wouldn't have needed to search again. Now that Master Yu believes in my abilities, he'll only value me more and more. With the two of us working together, the entire Yu family will be ours. We've been waiting for this day for so long. So, that old woman you mentioned, the twins she has must be delivered to us without any mishaps."
