Chapter 83 Delicious Popcorn
Everyone watched as Shu Yu turned over the corn kernels, turning and turning and turning.
That's it?
Could it be that the delicious snack she's talking about is just corn kernels coated in oil and sugar, then stir-fried? It doesn't look very appetizing.
Lan Hua, who was at the door, couldn't see the situation at the stove, but seeing the disappointment and disgust on Li and Liang's faces, she felt uncertain.
Suddenly, there was a 'pop' sound from the pot, and something bounced high into the air.
One sound followed another, startling everyone in the kitchen.
At that moment, Shu Yu quickly slammed the lid on the pot.
But when the lid was closed, the crackling sounds inside became even more pronounced.
Ruan asked with some concern, "Er Ya, it looks like something's gone wrong? Are you alright?"
Li said, "Don't let the pot get fried."
Madam Liang silently retreated to the kitchen doorway, holding Bao Ya in her arms, looking ready to run away at any moment.
Shu Yu told Da Hu to stop burning firewood and removed the firewood from the stove; the crackling sounds inside had almost stopped.
She then opened the pot lid, and everyone stared in astonishment.
This corn, which was supposed to be just enough for the bottom of the pot, is now piled up to fill half the pot.
And the smell... is so good.
Shu Yu took one, called Da Hu over, and stuffed it directly into his mouth.
Da Hu smacked his lips, excitedly clenching his little hands. "Delicious, so delicious!"
"This is called popcorn, made from popped corn. Have you never had it before?"
Da Hu nodded vigorously, "Popcorn made from corn is even tastier than rice cakes."
Shu Yu smiled and said, "Go and bring that fruit platter over, let's serve it to everyone."
Da Hu hurriedly turned around to get the fruit plate, which Shu Yu had filled to the brim with, and there was still quite a bit left.
She then put the food on a plate and handed it to the old lady, saying, "Grandma, please try some of these."
The old lady waved her hand, "I don't need it, I won't eat this, you children can eat it."
Li and Liang, who had returned, swallowed hard and stared eagerly at the plate of popcorn.
Shu Yu directly popped one into the mouths of the old lady and Ruan Shi, saying, "Isn't this plenty? You should try my cooking too."
The moment she took a bite, the old lady couldn't help but squint her eyes; it was crispy and really delicious.
I never imagined that corn could become so delicious after being stir-fried with oil and sugar.
Shu Yu left a plate of fruit for the kitchen, then took the fruit plate out.
As soon as she went out, Li and Liang eagerly grabbed one. The old lady sneered, "Didn't you say Er Ya couldn't cook? Look at her skills, which of you can compare to her?"
Li was embarrassed, but he didn't hesitate to eat the popcorn.
As soon as Shu Yu came out of the kitchen, Bao Ya rushed over, drooling, "I want to eat, I want to eat."
"No rush, take it to the main room first." Bao Ya is only three years old, and Shu Yu didn't dare let her eat alone. It would be better to keep an eye on her when she went into the main room.
Lu Sanzhu suddenly appeared out of nowhere again, "Er Ya, your third uncle will help you carry it."
He reached for the popcorn as soon as he finished speaking, but Shu Yu chopped him down with a chop, saying, "Try taking it if you dare."
Lu Sanzhu chuckled dryly and withdrew his hand, not daring to move.
This scene shocked Lan Hua, who was following behind. Her third uncle was actually afraid of Er Ya? Her third uncle was always shameless and wasn't even afraid of her grandmother, but now Er Ya's one move had scared her so much that she dared not move.
Shu Yu first took the popcorn to Lu Erbai's room, leaving some for him and his uncle, before returning to the main room.
