Chapter 7 Hallucinations (Edited)

The door of the room was closed. The moment he grasped the door handle, Qiongzhi felt inexplicably nervous. After calming himself down, he turned the handle firmly and carefully pushed the door open a little.

Very calm.

There was no extra person in the room, but the window facing the garden... Qiongzhi still maintained the posture of opening the door, and through the gap he could see that the window was closed.

But...how could that be possible? He had looked up from the garden and could see clearly that the window was open.

Oh, right, the desk lamp.

He turned his head to look in the other direction. The desk lamp that should have broken into two pieces was now standing intact on the bedside table. How could it have been thrown down?

“…” He bit his lip subconsciously, and the unfamiliar touch made his heart skip a beat.

"Lillian?" Suddenly, someone called his current name.

Qiongzhi's body stiffened and she slowly turned her head. The old woman had come up the stairs without her knowing, with a broom in her hand.

Looking at his strange posture, the woman asked with a puzzled look, "What's wrong with you?"

Qiongzhi's heart was beating a little fast, but his mind was working even faster. He answered without thinking, "I seemed to hear some noise in the room just now. I was a little scared, but it seems that I heard it wrongly."

But she didn't expect that after hearing this, the woman quickly put down the broom and walked towards her.

Just when Qiongzhi thought she had said something wrong, the woman put her hand on his forehead and said, "You seem to have a fever. You must be hallucinating again. I thought the new medicine was effective, but it seems..."

She didn't finish her words, and directly opened the door that Qiongzhi had not fully opened, and brought him to the bedside: "You have a low fever, you need to rest well. I'll go get you some hot water."

"But." Qiongzhi was stuffed into the quilt by her. She wanted to say something else, but the woman interrupted her.

"That's all hallucination, Lillian. It's like this every time you start to have a fever. You become confused." The woman's palm with thick calluses gently stroked his head. Qiongzhi is a grown man, and although he is now in a girl's body, he still feels a little awkward about such actions.

Trying hard to suppress his awkwardness, he asked, "Is this really an illusion?"

"Of course." The woman sighed, "We all hope you get better soon, Lillian, so you should get some rest."

"I understand." Qiongzhi nodded. The woman pulled the quilt up again and left to pour him some water.

Is this really an illusion? Qiongzhi pulled one hand out of the quilt and touched her forehead, which seemed to be a little hot.

"Was that really an illusion? This body is sick, and am I affected?" He wasn't sure, but when he turned around, he saw the intact lamp... Maybe it was really an illusion...

[Huh? So it was an illusion?]

[It's not impossible. The host is Lillian now. The old man said that Lillian would have hallucinations when she had a fever, so as Lillian's host, it's natural that she would also have hallucinations.]

So the doll and the lamp were just illusions?

【But my sixth sense tells me that it is not an illusion. 】

[Is your sixth sense accurate? ]

I think it's pretty accurate.

[Oh, I said my sixth sense told me it was an illusion! Otherwise, can anyone explain why the lamp is still on the table?]

"Maybe it really was just an illusion. It's quite good. It's much easier to accept than that doll."

[Suddenly I wasn't so scared anymore, I felt comfortable!]

Lillian was really sick. Qiongzhi could feel the temperature in his body rising higher and higher. His head became dizzy and his thoughts were no longer clear.

While he was still drowsy, the woman helped him up and gave him some water to drink. She then covered him with a blanket. She said he had taken medicine and that he would be fine after a good sleep and some sweating.

"Yeah." Qiongzhi nodded and responded sullenly. In a daze, she heard the sound of the room door closing.

I'll be fine after a good night's sleep... He thought, his eyelids feeling particularly heavy...

“Snap!”

Before he fell asleep completely, he seemed to hear a familiar falling sound.

What fell? Qiongzhi struggled to open her eyelids.

[Why did that blue-dressed doll suddenly fall down?!]

[Damn, no one in the room touched it, right?]

【Did the wind blow it down?】

[The windows are closed, where does the wind come from?!]

[As expected, something is still wrong!!!]

[The goose bumps I just got rid of...]

At this time, Qiongzhi had already sat up from the bed. He also saw the doll in the blue skirt that fell to the ground for unknown reasons. He remembered that the doll was called... called... Betty!

Yes, Betty in the blue dress and Anna in the red dress.

Gathering his strength, he shook his head and finally got out of bed. He picked up Betty, who had fallen face down pitifully, brushed off the non-existent dust, and put her back.

My body still felt heavy, and my temples were aching.

He took another look at the two dolls, who were sitting obediently and delicately in the middle of the cabinet, then turned around and went back to lie down on the bed.

But just as he turned and took two steps, there was another sound - "Snap!"

His mind suddenly became much clearer. Ignoring the needle-like pain, Qiongzhi turned his body back.

It's Betty.

Betty fell down again.
