Chapter 8 Betty (revised)

Those familiar goose bumps came back.

Qiongzhi gritted his teeth and gently picked up Betty. He took a deep breath and the doll looked normal.

But it fell down twice for no apparent reason.

And he just felt that the sound of falling sounded somewhat familiar. Now that his mind was a little clearer, he realized that the sound seemed to be the same as the one he heard in the garden.

Could it be that Betty fell at that time?

But wasn't Betty in the room? How could the sound of her falling be heard so clearly in the garden?

He looked at the doll in his hand and felt that it was not right to throw it away, nor was it right to hold it.

"Click." The door was opened by someone. It was the old woman.

She had just finished packing and was planning to go check on Lillian, but when she opened the door she saw Lillian standing in the house in a thin nightgown.

"Why are you up? Go lie back down." She was a little anxious. After seeing the doll in Lillian's hand, she asked, "Do you want to sleep with it?"

Qiongzhi couldn't shake her head to deny it, so she nodded, as an excuse to leave the bed.

The woman nodded, walked over, took her hand and let her lie back down, pulled the quilt over her again, and put Betty next to her pillow.

"Can you stay with me?" Qiongzhi said. There was no other way. He was Lillian now, and Lillian's health was very poor, which also affected him. Now even though he knew that things were a little strange, he couldn't do anything.

So the best way is actually to seek protection. The woman's concern for Lillian did not seem fake. The worry in her eyes just now was almost overflowing, so Qiongzhi chose to believe her.

"Of course, I will accompany you." The woman thought that the other party was just acting coquettishly, and her voice became softer.

This time, Qiongzhi really fell asleep, and the time of the entire game suddenly accelerated. After all, it is impossible for people to fall asleep in the game, right?

When Qiongzhi opened her eyes again, it was already three o'clock in the afternoon.

The woman was still guarding her bedside, while the man dozed off with his elbows on the bedside table and his head propped up by his fists.

After this short sleep, the discomfort in his body disappeared, and his whole state returned to the beginning of the morning, and he felt very relaxed all over.

Noticing the noise he made, the woman woke up immediately. Seeing that he was awake, she quickly reached out and touched his forehead, breathing a sigh of relief: "The fever is gone, it's all right now."

After saying that, she rubbed her legs and stood up: "I'll go make you some porridge. You didn't eat anything at noon."

"You should eat something too." Qiongzhi added, and the woman nodded in satisfaction.

After the people left, Qiongzhi sat up from the bed. He had not forgotten everything that happened before he went to bed.

Betty was still lying next to his pillow. The doll's hair was a little messy because it had fallen several times. Its eyes were amber and very beautiful, with long and curly eyelashes. The cheeks did not have the pink blush like Anna, but an orange tone.

When she first entered the game, Qiongzhi only picked up Anna to look at. There was no other way, the doll with blonde hair and a red dress was much more eye-catching than Betty, even though Betty was not bad if you looked closely.

When he carefully examined the doll again, Qiongzhi noticed that Betty's blue skirt was a little worn. Apart from that, he checked Betty thoroughly but couldn't find anything else.

"Oh." He sighed softly, but did not put Betty back on the cabinet, for fear that she would fall again.

However, Betty helped him confirm one thing. If the sound he heard in the garden was real and not an illusion, then he believed that everything that happened afterwards was not an illusion either.

The desk lamp really fell down, and the window really was opened, but he could guess that the window was closed again, but he couldn't explain why the desk lamp returned to the room intact.

Lillian has hallucinations when she has a fever. If he can prove that those are not hallucinations, does that mean that Lillian is not sick at all?

Thinking of this, he hurriedly got out of bed and walked to the window. He should check what was outside the window.

He opened the window and looked down, but there was nothing.

"What's going on?" Qiongzhi was really confused, and the barrage was the same.

【No, can someone explain it to me? 】

[I'm already confused. Is this an illusion?]

My brain is overloaded.

[How strange! I don't understand.]

Obviously, this group of interstellar people had no idea about the so-called "paranormal events" and just felt they were strange.

It was already six o'clock when they finished drinking the porridge. Lillian's parents came home at seven o'clock in the evening. Qiongzhi was a little nervous when she saw them for the first time.

"How do you feel today?" asked the man. He had brown hair and light blue eyes. He was wearing a dark brown suit and black, shiny leather shoes. He looked particularly upright.

"Sir, Lillian had a low fever in the morning and it subsided in the afternoon." Before Qiongzhi could speak, the old woman answered for him.

The blonde woman standing next to the man, Lillian's mother, showed a look of pity after hearing these words. She stepped forward and took the child in her arms, and asked softly, "Are you still feeling uncomfortable now?"

Qiongzhi shook his head. He felt a little awkward being held in the woman's arms, so he pulled away a little, raised his head and looked at the woman: "It's not uncomfortable now."

The woman had a pair of beautiful amber eyes, her gaze bright. She was wearing a green long dress. Qiongzhi had sensed something was wrong the moment they entered the door.
