Chapter 727 Jiang Yuanliang Likes You
Shen Jingjing was taken aback and didn't react for a moment. She paused for two seconds before exclaiming in surprise, "Yuanliang's sister-in-law?"
Yuanliang?
Chen Moru looked at Shen Jingjing, a hint of something deeper appearing on her face. Even her way of addressing her had changed. When she first met her, she clearly remembered that Jingjing called her "Mr. Jiang".
It seems the situation has really changed; she was simply out of touch with the news.
"Yes, you haven't seen it before, have you?"
Shen Jingjing shook her head: "No, this is the first time I've met him, but I have met his older brother once."
When Yuanliang was sick, she met his older brother, who had suddenly come to visit, when she went to his house to take care of him.
Upon hearing this, Chen Moru tentatively asked, "Jingjing, have you and Chairman Jiang been seeing each other frequently lately?"
She didn't ask very directly, afraid of being too abrupt.
“He often comes to my house for meals,” Shen Jingjing said honestly without hesitation.
Chen Moru instantly sensed something unusual. Why would Jiang Yuanliang, a man who was so busy, frequently go to Jingjing's house for meals?
This matter seems ordinary, but it is quite unusual for Jiang Yuanliang to do it. Jingjing's cooking skills are good, but the food she makes is not heavenly delicacies.
If Jiang Yuanliang had no other reason, given his sense of propriety in dealing with people, how could he possibly frequently come to our door to freeload meals?
This is the chairman of Jiangdong Group, a person whose time is more precious than gold.
Thus, Chen Moru's statement is highly likely to confirm Wen Shuyi's words: Chairman Jiang may indeed like Jingjing.
But looking at Shen Jingjing in front of her, she seemed completely unaware, simply believing that the two were just friends and that Jiang Yuanliang only liked eating her cooking.
"Sister Moru, you could have just sent me a message to remind me, instead of making a special trip back." Shen Jingjing smiled helplessly, stood up and asked her, "Then let me make you a cup of tea to warm you up."
"Stop making tea." Chen Moru stopped her speechlessly, giving her a look that gestured for her to sit down.
Shen Jingjing asked, puzzled, "What's wrong? You seem to have something on your mind."
"I'm fine, it's you who's in trouble." Chen Moru took a deep breath and continued, "Sister Shuyi didn't come here today to inquire about any cleaning services, she came here specifically for you."
"I?"
“Yes!” Chen Moru stopped wasting words and said directly, “She came to see you as Chairman Jiang’s sister-in-law.”
Shen Jingjing's expression showed even greater confusion.
"Don't you understand?" Chen Moru asked impatiently.
Shen Jingjing looked troubled: "You've come to see me as Yuan Liang's sister-in-law? Why?"
"Because Chairman Jiang likes you!"
Chen Moru had no other choice but to speak plainly: "My Jingjing, have you not experienced romantic love for decades? Has your sense of self become completely rusted?"
Shen Jingjing was stunned for a moment, then shook her head with a light laugh: "Impossible."
She spoke those three words with extraordinary certainty; in her mind, it was something absolutely impossible.
“If I heard someone else say this, I would also think it’s unlikely, but since Sister Shuyi came in person, it’s probably true.” Chen Moru straightened her expression and said solemnly to Shen Jingjing, “Jingjing, this is not a small matter. I’m telling you this so that you can be prepared. You think it’s impossible, but the Jiang family already knows about you.”
Shen Jingjing still didn't believe it: "Sister Moru, that's absolutely impossible. Yuanliang is several years younger than me, and I have three children. How could he possibly like me?"
"Who can really say what someone likes? Maybe it's because of your personality, or maybe he just likes older women? Or maybe it's because you saved his life! Are you really that insecure? Chairman Fei pursued you relentlessly, didn't he? Why couldn't it be the same for Chairman Jiang?"
"And now the facts are clear: Sister Shuyi is here, and she just told me herself that she came for Jiang Yuanliang, because Jiang Yuanliang likes you!"
Chen Moru's outburst silenced Shen Jingjing once again.
Yuan Liang... likes her?
Right?
Shen Jingjing looked confused, and images of their interactions began to flash through her mind. As they spent more and more time together, their relationship changed.
Initially, after learning Jiang Yuanliang's identity, she treated him with respect but distance, because the two were from completely different social classes and worlds.
Later, after learning that he had taken good care of Aci in Longcheng and helped his daughter a lot, she felt even more grateful to him.
When did we start to become familiar with each other?
Shen Jingjing couldn't remember clearly; it was something that happened gradually and imperceptibly, and their relationship naturally developed into what it is now.
But it must have become like this after Jiang Yuanliang frequently visited our home.
"Jingjing?"
Seeing Shen Jingjing in a daze, Chen Moru asked worriedly, "Are you alright?"
Shen Jingjing shook her head: "It's nothing, I'm just a little... a little..."
For a moment, I couldn't find the right words to describe my feelings.
Sensing Shen Jingjing's complicated feelings, Chen Moru cautiously asked, "So, do you... have feelings for Jiang Yuanliang?"
Shen Jingjing looked at Chen Moru, her mouth moved as if she wanted to deny it, but she was horrified to find that she did not have the urge to deny it.
But she did not admit it.
Her mind was in complete turmoil, and she was simply unable to think about the matter calmly.
This was so sudden and unexpected.
Chen Moru sighed and comforted her, "Jingjing, don't worry. I know this might be a bit unexpected for you. You can take your time to think about it, so you won't be caught off guard when you face these things. I'm telling you this so you won't be too passive."
Shen Jingjing pursed her lips, only belatedly realizing that her palms were covered in sweat.
When I got home in the evening, both my daughters were there.
At the dinner table, a bowl of white rice was placed in front of Shen Ci. Shen Ci looked up in surprise, only to find that her mother's expression was detached and she was not looking at her at all.
"Mom, I served myself the rice."
Shen Jingjing suddenly came to her senses: "Oh, really? Mom didn't notice."
Shen Ci frowned slightly, concerned. It was clearly her mother who had given her the rice spoon.
The next second, Ali frowned, looked up at her mother and said, "Mom, why are these shredded potatoes sweet? Did you stir-fry them with sugar?"
Upon hearing this, Shen Ci picked up two sticks and tasted them; they were indeed sweet.
"Is it sweet? Maybe the sugar and salt got mixed up. Mom will make another plate."
As she spoke, Shen Jingjing was about to get up and go back to the kitchen.
Shen Ci grabbed her mother and asked with some concern, "Mom, what's wrong? I've sensed you've been preoccupied ever since you came back. Did something happen at the company?"
Their mother rarely showed this side of herself to them; she always presented a strong and optimistic image.
Cooking has always been her forte. Her mother has never made a mistake in cooking since she was a child, so Shen Ci felt that her mother must have something on her mind.
