Chapter 854 Does what you just said count?
Although he was mentally prepared, when he actually heard his second uncle's words, Su Zheyuan's heart still felt like it was being gripped tightly by an invisible hand, and he was suddenly clenched in pain.
Outside the door, Secretary Gao was also furious. He unconsciously clenched his fists and subconsciously turned his head to look at Shen Ci beside him, his eyes full of resentment.
Shen Ci's expression remained calm, his eyes showing no emotion. He simply lowered his gaze and listened quietly to every sound coming from inside the door.
"So that's what Second Uncle meant."
Su Zheyuan's heart sank completely, a chill running from his feet to the top of his head. He forced a smile, but the smile that escaped his lips was colder than ice. He slowly raised his eyes, his gaze sweeping over everyone present, and asked in a light, perfunctory tone, "It seems everyone thinks the same way, doesn't that right?"
Everyone lowered their heads, their eyes darting around, no one daring to speak. Only Uncle San held his chin high, his attitude almost arrogant and forceful. He sneered and said, "Zheyuan, you've made such a huge decision-making mistake. Logically, our board of directors could have directly initiated impeachment proceedings to remove you from your position as chairman! We haven't done that, out of consideration for our uncle-nephew relationship, and have given you ample face!"
Su Zheyuan raised an eyebrow, but didn't say anything. He just watched him quietly, waiting for him to finish speaking.
“Zheyuan, if you really want what’s best for the company, you should learn to let go. You created this situation all by yourself, but you can’t solve it on your own. It’ll just be a mess if you hand it over to us,” Auntie said.
"What if I don't agree?" Su Zheyuan asked softly, his tone so cold that it was impossible to tell whether he was happy or angry.
"You have no choice but to agree, right?" Uncle sneered. "If it really comes to the point of impeachment by the board of directors, it won't look good for you either. You need to understand that although each of us has fewer shares than you, the total number of shares we own is higher than yours."
Su Zheyuan curled his lips slightly and bluntly stated: "If impeachment could truly maximize your interests, you would have done it long ago. The reason you haven't acted yet is simply because even if I am impeached and removed from my position as chairman, I will still hold the largest number of shares in the group."
"What you want has never been this chairman's position. You want to use this opportunity to force me to step down, then take the opportunity to short my shares, completely remove me from the group, and kick me out of the Su family!"
Shares are the most enduring form of wealth. As long as Su Zheyuan still holds shares, money will continue to flow into his pocket.
"Don't even think about it!" The aunt slammed her hand on the table, stood up agitatedly, and pointed at everyone, shouting angrily, "I will never agree to let Zheyuan dilute his shares! If impeachment is really initiated, I will vote for all fourteen percent of my shares in Zheyuan!"
“Even if you two combine your shares, it won’t be as much as ours! It won’t change anything!” Second Uncle interrupted her coldly, his tone full of disdain. “Don’t waste your energy.”
"Zheyuan, think it over carefully. But you need to be clear that if you insist on your own way, the group could very well be ruined in your hands, and then you will be the eternal sinner of the Su family."
That last sentence is undoubtedly blatant intimidation.
Unfortunately, Su Zheyuan wasn't buying it.
I disagree.
He spoke lightly, but his tone carried an undeniable firmness.
His gaze suddenly sharpened as he stared intently at his second uncle, saying each word clearly, "You want to impeach me, and I truly can't change the outcome, so I accept it! I can relinquish this chairman's position!"
"However, I will never give you a single share! Those shares are what my father left me, and no one can touch them!"
Uncle's brows furrowed deeply, his face turning ashen with anger. Pointing at Su Zheyuan, he roared, "If you don't agree to sell your shares, then take all the shares we have! We'll withdraw! We don't want to sink with you and lose everything!"
“Yes! Take all the shares we have!” Uncle San immediately chimed in, his tone full of certainty, as he was certain that Su Zheyuan couldn’t come up with that much money.
Su Zheyuan felt a tightness in his chest, and a breath caught in his throat, unable to come up or go down.
These people are determined to sever ties with him today! They know perfectly well that he simply doesn't have that much money to acquire everyone's shares—even without this transnational dispute, he couldn't come up with that astronomical sum!
This is clearly forcing him into a corner!
"OK!"
Just then, the conference room door was pushed open with a "bang," and a crisp, cheerful voice, tinged with a hint of laughter, drifted in from outside.
Everyone was startled and looked up in unison.
Shen Ci stood smiling at the door, her eyes crinkling. Behind her, her secretary, Xiao Gao, was furious, her face flushed red.
"Who are you?" Uncle Er frowned, his face showing displeasure. He then turned to Secretary Gao and reprimanded her sharply, "Xiao Gao! What kind of work are you doing? Don't you know we're having a board meeting? Who gave you permission to bring people in like this?!"
As a result, Xiao Gao completely ignored his second uncle and only looked at Su Zheyuan, saying, "Boss, Miss Shen is here."
"Aci? You... how did you get here?" Su Zheyuan stood up in shock, a clear look of panic flashing in his eyes.
The money he borrowed from Aci disappeared all at once due to his own negligence, and he didn't know how to tell Aci.
As a result, Shen Ci still smiled faintly and said casually, "I've been here for quite a while, listening to you chat at the door."
Then she looked at Su Zheyuan's second uncle again and asked in a very friendly tone, "Uncle, do you still stand by what you just said?"
Shen Ci's sudden appearance completely disrupted their rhythm. The second uncle impatiently asked, "What did you say?"
"You said Zheyuan could buy your shares, and you don't want to be tied to him anymore, afraid of falling into the sea with him?" Shen Ci blinked, her smile innocent and harmless, and repeated each word clearly, "Does that still count?"
Upon hearing this, the second uncle scoffed disdainfully, his tone full of sarcasm: "So what if he keeps his word? Can he even come up with that much money? If he really has that ability, then he should pay back the ten thousand he owes the bank first!"
"That ten thousand?" Shen Ci said, walking over to Su Zheyuan. She pushed the still-shocked Su Zheyuan aside and sat down in the chairman's seat. Looking at everyone, she said, "That ten thousand was a loan I gave to Zheyuan, not from the bank."
Those present were stunned, wondering if they had misheard.
"What did you say?" Uncle San came to his senses, his face filled with disbelief.
Shen Ci just smiled and said, "What? Didn't Zheyuan tell you? He thought the bank interest rate was too high, so he borrowed from me, saving your company a lot of interest."
