Chapter 853. A Coup

Chapter 853 Coup

Meanwhile, Shen Ci had already arrived at the door of the conference room.

Secretary Xiao Gao wanted to knock on the door and interrupt the meeting, which was unfavorable to Su Zheyuan, but Shen Ci stopped her just as she was about to raise her hand.

Shen Ci gently shook her head: "Listen to it first."

Secretary Gao nodded upon seeing this and quietly walked behind Shen Ci. Su Zheyuan sat in the main seat and let out a deep breath. Usually, he always wore a carefree smile, but at this moment, his aura seemed to be covered with frost. He raised his eyes, his gaze sweeping heavily over the familiar faces at the table—these were all elders who had watched him grow up.

When their father was still alive, they treated him even better than their own son.

Looking at them now, each one harbors their own thoughts, their eyes concealing calculations, whether overt or covert. This stark contrast between before and after truly chilled Su Zheyuan to the bone, leaving him with a sense of profound regret.

No matter how disheartened I am, the company's current predicament still needs to be addressed.

This is the culmination of his father and grandfather's life's work, the foundation built by generations of the Su family. As long as he remains chairman, he must shoulder this responsibility and cannot afford to back down in the slightest.

“We have already filed objections with the police and courts of the ‘island nation’ as soon as possible. As for the company’s current cash flow problem, I will find a way to resolve it,” Su Zheyuan said in a deep voice.

No sooner had he finished speaking than his third uncle's cold laugh rang out without any politeness: "If it were really that easy to solve, we wouldn't be sitting here today, wasting this time."

Uncle San looked up at Su Zheyuan, his eyes almost radiating pressure: "Zheyuan, you should know how long these kinds of transnational disputes take to resolve. It could take a year or two, or three or five years. In the end, whether this money can be recovered is still unknown! Can the company afford to wait? You can, but we can't!"

"There's also the funding problem. How much cash flow does the company have right now? I'm afraid it's not even enough to cover the bank loan shortfall. Where will the operating funds come from? How many months can the employees' salaries be paid?"

Uncle looked serious and said earnestly, "Zheyuan, to be honest, when you first took over the company, it was losing money every quarter. We, as your elders, had to clean up that mess for you step by step."

"You've finally shown some improvement in the past year, and the company's financial reports are finally looking a bit better. But who knows if this is due to your ability or just pure luck?"

“We all genuinely believed in your abilities. But look at this now! Such a huge, decisive mistake has dragged the company to the brink of collapse! At this point, we can’t just turn a blind eye and pretend we don’t see anything, can we?”

Su Zheyuan's hands, hanging at his sides, clenched unconsciously. Wasn't he also reflecting on his actions?

Knowing full well that these people were eyeing his position as chairman, knowing that they were all waiting to find fault with him and force him to step down, he shouldn't have been careless, shouldn't have made such a mistake, and given them an opportunity.

But what's done is done, and no amount of regret will change anything.

Su Zheyuan took a deep breath, raised his eyes, and swept his gaze over everyone. His tone carried a sense of desperate determination: "I will use all the assets under my personal name to support the company's continued operation."

He paused, his voice carrying a hint of weariness that was barely perceptible, yet still resolute: "This matter was a mistake on my part, and I am willing to take full responsibility for it. But I still implore the members of the board of directors to consider that this is the culmination of generations of hard work by the Su family, to take care of this hard-won foundation of the company, and to stand with me and the group through this difficult time."

The implication was crystal clear—Su Zheyuan hoped that all the directors present would contribute their own money to help the group fill this financial hole.

Many hands make light work; relying solely on his own strength is certainly far from enough.

As soon as he said that, the meeting room became so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

Everyone present either lowered their heads to drink tea or turned to look out the window; no one was willing to speak.

After a long pause, the aunt, who was sitting in the corner, finally broke the silence. She looked at Su Zheyuan, nodded slightly, and said decisively, "I'm willing to contribute. I'll take the lead and make my stance clear."

Su Zheyuan suddenly looked up at his aunt, a flash of gratitude crossing his eyes.

But before he could even express his gratitude, his aunt's sarcastic voice rang out: "My dear sister, it's easy for you to talk when you're not in my shoes. What's your situation compared to ours? Can you even compare them?"

“Exactly!” Uncle San immediately chimed in, his tone dripping with sourness. “You’re all alone, no family, no kids, no ties. You even got such a large sum of money in your divorce settlement, of course you have the money to spare! We’re not the same, we all have families to support, how can we be as ‘selfless’ as you?”

Upon hearing this, the aunt's face flushed red with anger. She stood up abruptly, pointing at her third uncle and eldest aunt, and angrily rebuked them, "This company was founded by Dad! All of us in the Su family owe our good life and our current status to this company! Are you really going to just stand by and watch the group fall into trouble without doing anything? What good will it do you if the company collapses?"

"Auntie," Su Zheyuan said softly, trying to calm her down, "Don't get agitated, sit down and calm down."

He remained calm, and his aunt, seeing this, sat down angrily. Only then did Su Zheyuan look at everyone and ask, "Apart from my aunt, no one is willing to contribute money. So how should this matter be resolved? Does anyone have any other good ideas?"

Su Zheyuan was too lazy to beat around the bush anymore. He asked the question because he wanted to know what these people were trying to do.

"Ahem..." Uncle San coughed deliberately.

Everyone else also subconsciously looked at their second uncle, as if trying to convey a message to him.

Seeing this, the second uncle straightened up and looked at Su Zheyuan, saying, "Zheyuan, we definitely need to find a way to solve this problem, but we can no longer let you, the leader, decide what to do next."

Su Zheyuan narrowed his eyes and sneered inwardly.

As expected, what was bound to happen eventually did happen.

"Oh? What do you mean by that, Second Uncle? Please speak frankly."

“Zheyuan, you are still very young. Young people your age should not have to shoulder such a heavy responsibility and pressure. Sometimes we elders feel sorry for you.” Uncle paused before continuing, “How about this, you dilute your shares into several parts and sell them to us. We will discuss and resolve the issues afterward. You don’t need to interfere.”
