Chapter 342 Ghostly Encounter?

Yin Qiu's first thought was to leave the villa.

Although it's not yet time for the 'Hyakki Yagyō' (Night Parade of One Hundred Demons) event to open, this still means that players can linger outside the park at night.

This thought, like a lightning bolt, pierced through the gloom in her heart, urging Yin Qiu to act swiftly.

Thinking of this, she followed the vague memories in her mind and hurriedly ran towards the stairs on the side.

The surroundings were shrouded in thick darkness, creating a chilling silence.

It was very dark around, so Yin Qiu had no choice but to turn on the flashlight with trembling hands, but the weak light could only illuminate a few feet ahead.

The darkness seemed like a greedy beast, slowly devouring the light of the flashlight and silently urging Yin Qiu on.

Yin Qiu gripped the handrail tightly, the icy touch penetrating her palms and reaching deep into her heart.

Yin Qiu quickly climbed down two floors, but when she thought she was about to reach the lobby on the first floor, the scene in front of her made her freeze instantly.

The space ahead wasn't the familiar lobby; it was still pitch black. The stairs continued downwards, the surroundings extremely narrow, clearly a corridor.

Yin Qiu's heart sank. She looked at the familiar facilities and tentatively took two steps inside.

Her guess was right. When the flashlight beam shone on the side wall, a familiar room came into view, making her eyes widen instantly.

Isn't that the room I just stayed in?

The door was half-closed; Yin Qiu was in such a hurry to escape that she didn't have time to close it.

Yin Qiu's chest heaved rapidly: "No... how is this possible? Could it be... a ghost wall?"

The moment the word left her lips, an inexplicable chill ran through her body like an electric current, causing Yin Qiu to shiver involuntarily.

At this critical moment, a pair of cold, slender arms silently reached out from behind her, like a vengeful ghost crawling out of the abyss, and tightly locked her neck.

The arm felt sticky and cold to the touch, like a venomous snake, carrying a suffocating killing intent.

"Uh—" Yin Qiu felt her breathing become difficult in an instant, and the world in front of her began to blur.

But she didn't give up. Instead, she twisted her body desperately and used all her strength to throw the prop she was holding behind her.

With a sizzling sound, the vengeful ghost behind seemed to be briefly repelled. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Yin Qiu broke free from those cold arms and staggered forward, falling to the ground.

Before she could even celebrate her narrow escape, she continued throwing props behind her while panting heavily, not daring to look back as she ran.

But Yin Qiu had only run a few steps when the ground beneath her feet suddenly seemed to come alive. An unseen force grabbed her ankle and pulled her backward.

Yin Qiu lost her balance and fell heavily to the ground.

"Ah!" A heart-wrenching scream shattered the silence of the night, and excruciating pain, like a raging fire, instantly engulfed her entire body.

Yin Qiu's calf seemed to have been pierced by an invisible sharp blade, and blood quickly stained her trouser leg. The pain made her curl up into a ball, and her cries of agony were incessant.

Just then, the surrounding darkness seemed to come alive.

Several sticky, cold arms silently reached out from all directions, wandering along her trembling body like greedy venomous snakes, gradually wrapping themselves tightly around her.

These arms were unusually thick and their skin was covered with a slippery mucus, which sent chills down Yin Qiu’s spine with every touch.

They tightened their grip, almost breaking her bones. Yin Qiu struggled with all her might, but it was all in vain.

Slender fingers dug into her face like withered branches, long nails sharp as knives, leaving shocking red marks on her face, as if trying to peel her skin off.

Yin Qiu was terrified. She tried to take out her props to fight back, but because she was bound, she could not move her arms at all and could not take out her props.

Yin Qiu's eyes widened in disbelief.

She wanted to shout a warning so that nearby players would come to her rescue.

Although she didn't know if those people would come, this was Yin Qiu's last resort.

However, the moment she opened her mouth, a large clump of hair suddenly rushed into her mouth and nose. The hair smelled foul and disgusting, and Yin Qiu almost vomited.

But nausea wasn't the worst part; because a large amount of hair was blocking Yin Qiu's mouth and nose, she couldn't breathe.

Darkness gradually consumed her consciousness...

Yin Qiu's vision began to blur, and the world around him seemed to be shrouded in a thick black fog. Every breath felt like it was tearing apart the fragments of his lungs.

Her limbs hung limply at her sides, her fingertips almost touching the cold ground, the flame of her life flickering in the biting wind, on the verge of being extinguished.

Just at this critical moment, a sudden gust of wind tore through the silence, carrying an undeniable force that swept away the heavy burden she was carrying.

The feeling of being restrained vanished suddenly, as if Yin Qiu had been abruptly pulled up from an abyss.

A figure flashed by like a ghost, and Yin Qiu vaguely felt that the other person's strong arms easily lifted her back from the brink of death.

The figure's face was faintly visible in the dim light, but its sharp, eagle-like eyes were like two razor-sharp swords, piercing straight to the heart.

Without any mercy, the man pinched Yin Qiu's cheek and then reached out to pull all the messy hair out of Yin Qiu's mouth.

With each strand pulled out, Yin Qiu felt a sharp pain accompanied by nausea.

"Ugh...cough cough cough..."

A moment later, Yin Qiu collapsed to the ground, coughing violently. As she gasped for breath, snot and tears streamed down her face, making her look extremely disheveled.

She didn't even have time to see who had saved her.

"Tsk~"

Xiao Jin glanced at the person lying on the ground, then squatted down and picked them up.

She went to the half-open door, kicked it open, and then placed the person on the bed.

…………

Let's go back three minutes.

After noticing the commotion outside, Xiao Jin pondered for a moment before finally taking out the Broken Shadow, opening the door, and going out.

As soon as she stepped outside, she saw that Yin Qiu's door was open, and she subconsciously turned her head to look in the direction of the e-sports room.

Good heavens, Yin Qiu was lying stiffly on the carpet inside, like a dried-up salted fish.

As her body convulsed, Xiao Jin also saw the hair blocking her mouth.

Seeing that the person's eyes had rolled back and his face was turning blue and purple, Xiao Jin immediately stepped forward, glanced at him, took out a bottle of white-quality holy water, and sprinkled it all over Yin Qiu's body.

As the holy water was poured down, Xiao Jin seemed to hear some rustling sounds as it receded.

She pulled the hair out of Yin Qiu's mouth, finally managing to pull her back from the brink of death.
