Chapter 360 The Frenzy of Mutation

Just then, a girl not far in front of Xiao Jin suddenly trembled, clutched her head tightly with both hands, and let out a sharp and desperate scream.

Immediately, her whole body began to spasm, and bulging veins could be vaguely seen under her skin, as if something was growing wildly inside her.

This scene spread rapidly across the campus like a virus, and fear and chaos swept through the entire space like a tidal wave.

"Poison! It really is poisonous, everyone come in quickly."

This scene reminded everyone of what Xiao Jin had just shouted, and a look of horror quickly spread across their faces.

Those who had been soaked by the rain endured the excruciating pain, tearing off their clothes while pulling out their phones to dial 120.

Unfortunately, no one answered the phone.

"Damn it, I'm not going to die, am I?!" A boy, his eyes red, threw his clothes heavily to the ground.

But they didn't expect that something even more desperate was yet to come.

The girl who initially screamed was suddenly pushed to the ground by her companions and several passersby, and the scene became chaotic.

Her struggles were unusually intense, as if there was a force within her that did not belong to her.

Four or five tall, burly boys were almost knocked over by her.

But no one noticed that the girl's eyes had completely changed when she looked down and then up again; her pupils had shrunk to thin lines, like two points of cold light in an abyss.

After a heart-wrenching scream, the girl suddenly exerted her strength, tearing a chunk of flesh from the arm that was tightly gripping hers like a wild beast.

Blood splattered everywhere, and a pungent, fishy smell instantly filled the air.

The astonishing scene stunned everyone else. Their expressions froze, their eyes filled with fear and disbelief. They unconsciously let go of each other's hands and retreated.

Taking advantage of the situation, the girl broke free of her restraints and slowly rose from the ground in a strange and stiff manner.

Her movements were mechanical, with traces of blood still clinging to the corners of her mouth and dark veins crisscrossing her face. Then she let out a roar at those around her.

"This...this is a zombie!" someone finally shouted in a trembling voice from the crowd.

The speaker was a boy wearing a blue T-shirt. His face was as pale as paper, and his forehead was covered with fine beads of sweat.

Everyone present was young, and who hadn't seen a few zombie movies? This scene was exactly like the one in the movie.

Although his voice was very low, every word was clearly audible in the deathly silence around him, striking everyone's heart like a heavy hammer.

"No, no, it's impossible." The bitten man couldn't accept it and shook his head blankly.

I was just trying to help out, how did this happen?

The other person forced a smile: "Ha! How could that be? I'm fine, I... uh—"

He had only said a few words when his face froze, and then drool began to drip from the corner of his mouth, with black blood vessels gradually spreading to his eyes.

"Ah! Run!" Seeing this, the people around finally couldn't hold back anymore and scrambled away.

With a series of roars, the apocalypse officially began. A wave of mutations swept in, and many students who had been huddled on the ground clutching their stomachs looked up to find themselves transformed.

Their eyes gleamed with bloodlust as they frantically attacked those around them. Xiao Jin could also hear numerous roars coming from inside the teaching building.

'Bang!'

One by one, figures fell from the sky.

Some jumped down in a panic, while others chased after them deliberately, but the figures got up from the ground in no time.

Even if it breaks its legs, it doesn't matter. As long as it can crawl, it will wriggle up and climb onto the nearby corpse to feast on it.

There is good news and bad news.

The good news is that the black rain has stopped, and humans will no longer be infected by the virus contained within it. The bad news is that more infectious agents capable of actively attacking are rapidly multiplying throughout the world.

Although the chaotic crowd held them back for a while, Xiao Jin, with his keen intuition and exceptional skills, broke through the encirclement as soon as the chaos began to emerge and arrived at the school gate.

Along the way, there were piercing screams and desperate cries everywhere. Students and teachers alike had become terrified young animals, their faces filled with fear.

They ran and pushed each other, trying to escape.

Seeing that the rain had stopped, Xiao Jin threw the umbrella aside without hesitation.

She gripped her long sword tightly, and whenever a zombie staggered toward her, Xiao Jin would swiftly and cleanly swipe down with her blade.

The zombie's head rolled to the side, spurting out dark red blood. Her eyes were cold, showing no hesitation or pity.

These level 1 zombies were easy for Xiao Jin to deal with; they were weaker than normal humans.

Since she didn't know if players would turn into zombies if they were bitten, Xiao Jin was always careful not to get scratched or bitten.

My head rolled the whole way.

It's just that no one has time to notice Xiao Jin right now, otherwise, compared to the zombies, it's hard to tell who is more terrifying!

Finally, Xiao Jin squeezed out of the school gates, but the outside world was much worse than inside the school.

Most students were in class when the incident occurred, and they were mostly indoors, so not many people were exposed to the black rain.

Those on the playground were just unlucky.

But it's different outside. The streets are full of people. Linjiang University is not remote. The surrounding snack streets, supermarkets, and internet cafes are all bustling with people.

The mutation spread rapidly once it occurred.

Xiao Jin looked up and saw that the streets outside were littered with vehicles, flames were shooting into the sky, and smoke was billowing. People were being chased by zombies, and the ground was covered with blood and severed limbs.

Screams were accompanied by frequent explosions, and many vehicles went out of control.

Some people couldn't even dodge in time and were run over by the cars. Some cars crashed into the greenery and stopped, and the zombies outside frantically swarmed around them, banging on the windows.

Before long, the car window shattered, and zombies swarmed in, their shrill screams echoing throughout the street...

Xiao Jin's long legs allowed her to walk quickly as she tried to escape the chaos, but all she could see was the same.

Several not-so-bright zombies targeted Xiao Jin and pounced on him with bared teeth and claws, but Xiao Jin swung his knife past them without pausing for a moment.

Soon, the body parts behind them slid to the ground with a 'crackling' sound.

As she walked, she heard a 'bang' and Xiao Jin instinctively hid behind a telephone pole.

When I peeked out, I realized that there was a police car parked not far in front of me, and two armed police officers in front of the car.
