The two policemen gripped their guns tightly, their eyes filled with panic.
Opposite them, a blood-soaked, distorted zombie was greedily devouring the people on the ground, each bite accompanied by the chilling sound of bones cracking.
Li Hao took a deep breath and slowly pulled the trigger. "Bang!" A gunshot pierced the deathly silence as the bullet accurately embedded itself in the zombie's shoulder, causing its massive body to shudder violently.
The zombie let out a low, hoarse roar before collapsing to the ground, lifeless.
"Quick, now's the time!" Li Hao shouted, and he and another policeman cautiously approached.
"Are you alright, ma'am? Ma'am!!" The two men's guns remained pointed at the zombie.
They exchanged a glance, and Li Hao slowly approached, preparing to pull the person out from under the zombie, when suddenly something unexpected happened.
The zombie, which seemed to have fallen, suddenly straightened up, its eyes bloodshot and blood dripping from its mouth. With incredible speed, it turned and pounced on Li Hao, who was closest to it.
Li Hao reacted a beat too late. He stared wide-eyed in horror, feeling a stench assault his nostrils. Then, the zombie's sharp fangs sank deep into his neck, biting down precisely on his carotid artery.
Blood gushed out like a fountain, instantly staining his clothes red.
"Aaaaaah!!!" Li Hao's scream shattered the surrounding silence as he futilely grabbed at the zombie's head, trying to break free.
"Xiao Li!" Another policeman standing to the side witnessed the scene, his brow beaded with sweat.
His hand trembled as he held the gun, unable to bring himself to fire. Suddenly, a zombie appeared out of nowhere and pounced on him from behind.
The sound of gunfire was so loud that it attracted half of the zombies on the street.
In the blink of an eye, the two were surrounded by even more zombies.
Although it's a bit of a pity, it must be said that the actions of these two police officers bought precious time for others to escape.
Xiao Jin's gaze pierced through the surging horde of zombies ahead, and an idea quickly took shape in her mind.
Without the slightest hesitation, Xiao Jin quickly pulled out a heavy gasoline can from his spatial storage.
With a powerful swing, the gasoline can traced an arc and landed precisely above the horde of zombies.
Just as the gasoline can was about to touch the ground, Xiao Jin flicked his hand, and a series of small steel balls shot towards the gasoline can like an angry swarm of bees.
With a loud crackling sound, the gasoline can was violently smashed open, and the gasoline inside poured out like a torrential rain, soaking the zombies' bodies and leaving them in a mess.
A lot of gasoline was also spilled on the police car on the other side.
As if sensing danger, the zombies looked up, their狰狞 faces appearing even more terrifying in the dim light.
A pungent smell filled the air. Seeing this, Xiao Jin quickly took out a lighter from his spatial storage and flicked it lightly with his finger.
The lighter streaked through the air like a shooting star, hitting the hood of the police car squarely.
At that moment, the flames erupted the instant they touched the gasoline, accompanied by a deafening roar. The raging fire instantly engulfed the police car and quickly spread to the surrounding horde of zombies.
"Roar roar roar~"
Flames danced under the blazing sun, the air gradually distorting, like a demon's revelry, enveloping the zombies and emitting bursts of acrid stench and mournful howls.
It's not over yet.
Just minutes later, an even louder explosion occurred, and the police car exploded, with debris scattering instantly from the blast center.
In the distance, pedestrians who were almost caught up by zombies discovered that after the explosion, most of the zombies surrounding them had disappeared.
One by one, they thanked their lucky stars and ran away without looking back.
Xiao Jin had already left the scene after throwing the lighter. Hearing the continuous notification sounds, she silently made her way out of the pedestrian street.
Further on, the road widened considerably, and cars sped by, making it look much better than the shops and streets.
In the distance, an ambulance, like a wild horse, zigzag along the road, its tires screeching against the pavement and kicking up a cloud of dust.
The headlights on the front of the car swayed wildly, and then it suddenly rushed straight towards Xiao Jin's direction.
Xiao Jin quickly swerved to one side, avoiding the out-of-control ambulance. With a screeching sound of brakes, the ambulance crashed violently into a roadside utility pole.
The entire vehicle shook violently, but the car itself was unharmed. Instead, the utility pole groaned under the strain before slowly tilting and collapsing.
Sparks flew everywhere, and the air was filled with signs of an impending explosion caused by a short circuit.
In that split second, the ambulance’s back door suddenly sprang open, and four twisted, hideous zombies stumbled out.
Among them, three were still wearing blood-stained medical staff uniforms, their eyes vacant and drool dripping from their mouths, while the other was the source of this disaster—an infected patient.
Several zombies had unhealthy grayish-white skin, bloodshot eyes, and emitted chilling roars.
Because Xiao Jin was closer to the ambulance, she naturally became the first target of the attack.
As if the zombies had caught a whiff of fresh flesh and blood, Xiao Jin had just regained his footing when he was hit by a stench of decay.
A ruthless glint flashed in Xiao Jin's eyes, and she swiftly drew the long sword from her side.
The first zombie had barely stepped into her attack range when it was slit in the throat. The second zombie missed its target and fell to the ground. Xiao Jin seized the opportunity to step on its back and plunge her long sword down, piercing its head.
The remaining zombies tried to attack from the side, but Xiao Jin slashed them with a backhand stroke, slicing off half of their heads.
Finally, Xiao Jin dodged the zombie's attack, his long sword drawing a perfect arc in the air before embedding itself deeply into the zombie's back, pinning it to the ground.
"It's over!" Xiao Jin shook off the shavings from the knife and walked to the driver's seat of the ambulance.
She has an idea.
Looking through the window into the driver's cab, Xiao Jin only saw the driver, but she immediately noticed a lot of blood on his neck.
On the back of his hand gripping the steering wheel, there were several fresh scratches, and the surrounding skin had begun to rot.
It seemed the driver had been infected, which caused the accident. Without thinking further, Xiao Jin reached out and opened the door.
Just as the driver inside was about to launch a sneak attack, Xiao Jin chopped off his head with a single blow.
Xiao Jin climbed into the driver's seat, inspected the vehicle, and then a hint of satisfaction appeared in his eyes.
Yes, the car isn't broken.
Xiao Jin had noticed before that this ambulance was different from the ambulances usually used by the 120 emergency center; it was an off-road ambulance.
This car is no ordinary vehicle.
With its four-wheel drive off-road chassis, spacious modular design, intelligent rescue system, and intelligent power system, it can handle any situation, whether climbing hills or wading through water, adapting to various rescue scenarios.
