Chapter Seventy-Five: Pickled Pepper Chicken Giblets

Ling Miao contacted the other party privately, and all of them readily agreed.

She transferred the star coins to him, and he immediately said he would send them to her.

Although there were only a few chicken feet, I thought that my jar wasn't very big either, so I felt relieved.

I'm just eating it as a snack anyway.

If you buy too many, you might worry that you won't have enough jars to hold them all.

Having put one thing aside, she turned back to pick up the pickled peppers.

"Are you scooping this up to eat today?"

Rella couldn't help but speak up.

"Yes." Ling Miao scooped the food out of the plate while keeping an eye on the quantity. When she saw that it was almost full, she put the lid on, picked up the plate, and walked towards the kitchen.

"It's not going to be eaten dry, is it?"

Susan couldn't help but speak up, and she and Rella exchanged glances.

Although it tastes good on its own, isn't it too dry to eat with white rice?

And it's really spicy.

Just thinking about the taste makes Susan gasp. It's delicious, but it's a bit too much for the tongue.

My throat is still burning.

"Of course not."

Ling Miao turned to look at them in surprise, "This is considered a side dish, but it's mainly for seasoning."

They can't stand eating it all by themselves.

"That's good."

Rella took over the conversation, and while they were talking, all three of them went to the kitchen.

Before we even started preparing any ingredients, we saw Le Yuan come in with two children.

"Someone outside said they were delivering ingredients."

"That was pretty fast," Rella remarked.

Ling Miao got up and went outside, where she saw several women carrying slaughtered chickens and cleaned offal.

"Manager, here's what you wanted."

The chicken feet were cleaned very thoroughly, with no dirt visible, to the point where they could be soaked directly.

Ling Miao nodded in satisfaction, then looked at the chicken gizzards that were arranged on a plate in the basket.

Because I don't really like eating offal other than gizzards, I only bought chicken gizzards when I was buying them.

Ling Miao reached out and took it, saying, "Thank you."

"You're welcome, you're welcome. We should be thanking you..."

They stammered, unable to say anything more, and simply kept stuffing a prepared chicken into Ling Miao's hands.

Ling Miao didn't even have a chance to refuse; they put down the chicken and ran away.

"If you don't accept it, they won't feel at ease."

Rella spoke up quietly, and Susan nodded in agreement, "Yes."

Ling Miao understood what they meant and didn't press them further. She picked up the prepared chicken and went into the kitchen.

"I haven't decided what to eat for dinner yet, and now there's an extra chicken."

After thinking about it, she put the chicken in the freezer.

Let's have something simple for dinner.

She checked the time on her computer; it was just past five o'clock. She decided to turn around and soak the prepared chicken feet in the prepared jar.

"Dinner can be made now."

Ling Miao rolled up her sleeves and began preparing the ingredients.

The two people beside her assisted her.

Since there wasn't much business, it saved a lot of effort. Besides, today was Rella's first day at the company, and in the end, she managed to cook several dishes.

"Cheers to my new job!"

Rella raised her glass and drank it down in one gulp.

"This tastes so good!"

"Of course it tastes good, Miaomiao just brewed it."

Susan chimed in, a few drops of water still clinging to the corner of her mouth, "So this is what rice wine tastes like. It tastes like a delicious beverage."

"Isn't this a beverage?"

Le Yuan spoke up unexpectedly, looking at the two children sitting beside him, "You two should drink less."

The twins reluctantly lowered their heads, looking at their mother with pitiful eyes.

Rella looked away and coughed lightly. "You should drink less."

"But it's sweet!"

Lerling spoke up defiantly, while Lersen remained silent, but his eyes also conveyed accusation.

"Even if it's sweet, it's still alcohol. Children shouldn't drink too much alcohol."

Rella glared at them, and the two children stopped, reluctantly sipping their tea.

Ling Miao smiled and reached for the long-awaited pickled pepper chicken giblets with her chopsticks.

A plate full of chicken gizzards, cut into small pieces, mixed with golden pickled pepper pieces that were also chopped.

After being cooked in hot oil, the strong, pungent sour smell is greatly reduced, but it still makes your mouth water.

She scooped up a full spoonful and poured it into the bowl.

Golden specks dotted the snow-white, glistening rice grains, and Ling Miao couldn't wait to grab a chopstick and put it in her mouth.

The slightly sweet rice, along with the chicken gizzards, bursts onto the tongue, a tangy and spicy flavor that whets the appetite. The chicken gizzards are a bit firm, but not fishy at all; instead, they perfectly balance the tangy and fragrant flavor of the pickled peppers.

The mildly spicy flavor perfectly stimulates the taste buds, making you want to keep eating and unable to stop.

Occasionally, you'll bite into a piece of pickled pepper, like opening a blind box—it's so stimulating it makes your tongue twitch, but you can't help but want to try it again.

"This is actually quite delicious!"

As Rella ate, she commented, "It's sour and spicy, very appetizing, and goes well with rice!"

"I never imagined that internal organs could be prepared this way."

Susan stared in amazement at the plate full of chicken giblets. She had never eaten offal before, and this was her first time. The taste was unexpectedly delicious.

She was prepared for a fishy smell, but to her surprise, it had none at all and tasted excellent.

"Can all internal organs be treated this way?"

She turned to look at Ling Miao.

The other person nodded, chewing as they added, "I think stir-frying and braising are the best ways to remove and mask the fishy smell."

"Braised pork intestines, stir-fried pork kidneys... they're all delicious."

My mouth waters just thinking about food.

Ling Miao quickly put aside her thoughts, steadied her rice bowl, and looked at the dishes on the table.
