The braised chicken should not be cooked for too long, otherwise the chicken meat will easily fall apart.
Therefore, Ling Miao turned off the stove at the exact time.
Susan eagerly came over as she served the braised chicken.
My eyes were glued to the finished braised chicken, the rich, dark brown chicken pieces, the green and red bell peppers, and the potatoes and mushrooms scattered throughout.
It's not just the color scheme; the smell alone makes your mouth water.
Ling Miao couldn't help but laugh when she saw Susan's expression.
"After all the meals I've cooked, why are you still so hungry?"
Susan stared at the braised chicken, reaching out to take it out, but upon hearing this, she objected.
"In this vast universe, nothing is more precious than delicious food."
His little face looked so proud and stern that Ling Miao almost burst out laughing again.
The four stall owners stared longingly at the kitchen, and finally saw Susan come out carrying plates.
Niru almost stood up excitedly; he had good eyesight and spotted the food on the plate immediately.
Coated in a rich, dark sauce, the chicken pieces exude a strong aroma, accompanied by other side dishes with a light sheen, making them extremely tempting on a snow-white plate.
He couldn't help but swallow hard, staring intently at the plate placed in front of him.
Then, the other party handed over a bowl and chopsticks.
A bucket of rice is prepared on the table.
Once Ling Miao sat down, everyone started eating.
Niru stretched out his chopsticks and picked up a piece of chicken in one go.
He popped the dark brown chicken pieces into his mouth, and in his haste, some sauce got on the corners of his mouth, but he didn't have time to wipe it away, just chewing blankly.
The chicken in my mouth was incredibly tender; the moment it touched my tongue, the chicken meat naturally melted away, yet the texture remained firm.
The chickens were raised on their own, so the meat was naturally firm, but Niru had never tasted such delicious chicken before.
He couldn't describe his thoughts, so he just sped up his eating.
As the chicken nuggets dwindled, his gaze fell upon the potato chunks.
Niru is no stranger to potatoes; for the past ten years or so, his stomach has mostly consisted of potatoes and sweet potatoes.
It's fine to fill one's stomach, but as a dish, he really doesn't want to try it again.
But for some reason, he inexplicably reached out with his chopsticks and picked up a piece of potato.
By the time he came to his senses, the potatoes were already in his bowl.
Niru unconsciously frowned, showing some resistance.
He could describe the taste of potatoes with his eyes closed, and he really didn't want to eat them again.
But he couldn't bring himself to waste food, so he closed his eyes and forced himself to swallow the potato.
But he was stunned as soon as he took a bite.
The potatoes in my mouth tasted unlike any I'd ever had before. They weren't bland like potatoes usually; instead, they were powdery and soft, with a meaty aroma.
If Niru hadn't known for sure that he was eating potatoes, he would have thought he was eating chicken.
Aside from a slight difference in texture, it's soft, fluffy, and has a meaty aroma.
I never imagined a potato could taste so good.
Niru was somewhat incredulous, then his gaze fell on the other side dishes.
Sliced mushrooms and bell peppers were picked up together, with brown broth dripping from them.
The mushroom slices are thick and fleshy, soaked in juice, while the bell pepper slices are plump, releasing a light juice with a hint of sweetness with every bite.
Niru ate bite after bite, unable to stop.
He patted his round belly, looked at the plate, and saw only a few specks of brown broth left, feeling somewhat disappointed.
He felt he hadn't eaten enough.
"belch"
He quickly covered his mouth and looked around, but no one around noticed the noise he made.
He felt relieved, and his finger had just left his lips.
Another sound rang out.
"belch"
His face flushed red, and his eyes kept wandering.
But she saw that the older brother opposite her had a flushed face and a wandering gaze.
He belatedly realized what was happening and burst out laughing at the embarrassed look on his brother's face.
This meal brought everyone closer together, and the stall owners, who were initially a bit reserved, all relaxed.
Sisi was held in Ling Miao's arms, the little girl sitting on Ling Miao's lap, looking at her obediently.
"Thank you, sister."
"Sister's cooking is so delicious!"
The little girl's eyes were bright and sparkling, her black pupils filled with affection for her.
Ling Miao touched her head. Her hair wasn't of the best quality, but the strands were fine and soft, just like a young girl's.
She felt a surge of affection for her sister. "If you like it, why don't you come visit me often?"
Sisi looked back at her father and brother, somewhat hesitant.
She only turned around happily when she saw her father nod.
Nodding vigorously, Sisi exclaimed, "Okay!"
Then, as if remembering something, she added, "With Dad, Mom, and Brother!"
"May I?"
Seemingly realizing something, he spoke softly, looking at Ling Miao with hopeful eyes.
"Of course you can."
Ling Miao patted her back, taking in the little girl's every move.
He loved her even more.
When she saw them off, Ling Miao grabbed a handful of snacks from the road she had prepared to eat on the way to the capital city and handed them to each of them.
"This is a snowflake crisp,"
Ling Miao pointed to the square-shaped, milky-scented snow blocks and said, "And glutinous rice strips."
The yellow, root-like fruit is covered with translucent sugar granules, and its sweet appearance makes one's mouth water.
"Thank you, sister."
The group thanked Ling Miao, and Qianqian stepped forward and hugged Ling Miao, her eyes filled with tears.
She wiped her eyes, forced a smile, and waved to Ling Miao.
Goodbye, sister—
"goodbye."
As their figures grew smaller and smaller, Ling Miao entered the restaurant.
