Chapter 131 The Great Sage & the Fire Spirit

"Don't worry, I just gave it a cultivation technique. When I returned from my pilgrimage with my master, we encountered a pink-shelled tortoise turtle in the Tongtian River. It threw the four of us into the water, almost causing a disaster. Later, it was enlightened by Buddha, shed its turtle shell, and gained human form. It did retain a cultivation technique."

Sun Wukong put away the golden cudgel and then took out a bright red object from his robes:

“I won’t eat your vegetarian meal for nothing. This is a fire essence I obtained from the Immortal Island in the East Sea. It can be used to start a fire as you wish. Since you are a phoenix, you are naturally not afraid of this fire essence. Take it and play with it.”

Xu Milu took the fire and examined it closely. She found that it looked exactly like a ball of flame that was burning fiercely, red on the outside and yellow on the inside. This ball of flame seemed to have intelligence. As soon as it landed in her hand, it started to roll around, like a child who was being spoiled.

"Thank you, Great Sage."

Xu Milu thought for a moment and then asked, "Since the Great Sage knows Ah Chou's origins, does he know where my phoenix bloodline comes from?"

Sun Wukong pondered for a moment, his golden eyes flashing:

“I, Old Sun, am not familiar with the Phoenix Clan, nor can I discern your identity or origin. Only this little tortoise beside you can tell me a thing or two. If you really want to know, then try to find the Di Ting beside Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva. It understands all the principles of the world and should know the origin of your bloodline.”

He said meaningfully:

“Child, I can protect you here in Chang’an, but once you leave Chang’an, you and this giant turtle will become prey for those mountain spirits and monsters. I’ll show you a way out—you have excellent cooking skills, and those ingredients are beneficial to the soul.”

"Right now is the Water and Land Dharma Assembly, with gods and demons from all directions gathering in Chang'an. It would be wise for you to exchange for more life-saving magical artifacts."

Xu Milu suddenly realized that she had plenty of time now. Although she hadn't encountered any major dangers yet, who knew what the future held?

Therefore, focusing on improving our strength is the right path!

Thinking this, she bowed solemnly to Sun Wukong and said, "Thank you for teaching me, Great Sage."

"I'm not your master, so the title of master and disciple doesn't apply to me!"

Sun Wukong chuckled, rolled on the spot, and transformed back into a round-headed little novice monk. He waved his hand and jumped back to the neighboring courtyard.
