Chapter 59 Giant Beasts & Acquaintances

It's so big!

Humans simply cannot muster any desire to resist when faced with such enormous creatures!

[Bird-faced Anaconda: A highly poisonous food ingredient, a giant reptile with a bird's face. Mature specimens can reach 500 meters in length. Capture level: 80 stars.]

A clue popped up in the encyclopedia, and Xu Milu pinched Ah Chou's mouth to stop it from making a sound, focusing intently on observing the giant beast.

"Hiss... hiss..."

The bird-faced anaconda raised its head, its brown pupils shrinking to slits, its forked tongue seemingly sniffing out something. Xu Milu didn't notice that her golden pupils had also turned into sharp vertical pupils in that instant!

"hiss!!"

Seemingly sensing an extremely terrifying presence, the bird-faced anaconda flapped its tail and fled in panic, plunging into the deeper forest. However, it was caught by a large, furry hand that appeared out of nowhere in the depths of the forest and tore it apart violently!

The enormous hand almost covered the sky above, making it hard to breathe. The bird-faced, monstrous corpse pieces shattered and fell like a rain of blood.

Xu Milu covered herself with the tent, and the sound of "crackling" could be heard incessantly.

The owner of that giant hand was only glimpsed briefly; it was a chimpanzee large enough to blot out the sky, standing there like a mountain.

It seemed uninterested in the bird-faced anaconda and slowly made its way deeper into the Black Stone Forest.

"Thump—thump—"

The heavy footsteps sounded like the earth collapsing or thunder rumbling.

[Steelback Black Giant Ape: Completely non-toxic, gentle temperament, no history of consumption, capture level 100 stars.]

Xu Milu glanced at the description given by the dimensional jumper, then at the blood-red stain on the ground, and fell into deep silence.

You say this thing is docile? Dare you say that again while looking at the pieces of corpse on the ground?

...

...

Once she was sure the terrifying beast had left, Xu Milu breathed a sigh of relief. She touched the vines and slowly slid down the tree trunk. Only when her feet touched the ground did she feel a sense of reality.

Those behemoths were practically straight out of the Classic of Mountains and Seas.

The ground was littered with the shattered remains of the bird-faced python, some as tall as a building and others as thick as half a person. The stench of blood made the ground sticky and unpleasant to the touch. Xu Milu could only be thankful that she had already finished collecting the tree seeds.

She realized she had better leave as soon as possible, otherwise the smell of blood might attract something even more terrifying.

"Cough, cough, cough!"

A coughing sound rang out, and Xu Milu followed the sound, finding Qingmu, who was barely breathing, among a pile of sticky corpse parts.

His sternum appeared to have been compressed, forming a horrifying indentation. His body was covered in snake slime, and it was unclear whether the blood on his body belonged to the snakes or was his own.

"You're really unlucky, how come I always run into you?"

Xu Milu took a breath.
