The three unlucky guys carried back by Ah Chou seemed to be adventurers who had stumbled into this slime ranch. Xu Milu was eager to learn more about this continent, so after rescuing the three from Ah Chou's saliva, she patted the giant tortoise's head and sent it off into the forest.
"Go play, and remember, don't bring back any two-legged creatures for me. Catch as many horned rabbits, porcupines, or winged buffalo as you can, and we'll have roasted pork chops when we get back tonight."
"Caw caw caw! Caw caw!"
The tall and imposing Ah Chou tilted his head to the side with amusement, his large head bobbing at Xu Milu, before slowly walking away and disappearing into the forest.
"Thump! Thump! Thump! Thump!"
The giant tortoise made a noise as it moved through the forest as if a herd of beasts were passing by. The cedar trees, dozens of meters tall, snapped in half with a "crashing" sound. Its four hooves left footprints half a meter deep on the ground. Slimes followed closely behind the giant beast, not too far away, creating a somewhat comical scene.
It's just like a school of sardines following behind a giant whale.
Since Ah Chou started cultivating, its growth rate has increased significantly. Now, it can't even fit its head into the Mountain and Sea Restaurant. So when Xu Milu brought it to this world, it was as happy as a frolicking puppy.
—Of course, this little dog is a bit big.
But for the three who had just escaped from the jaws of the turtle, being swallowed by such a huge monster was a nightmare.
"Aaaaaaah!! What was that just now?! I'm dead, I'm dead, I thought I was going to be eaten! Aaaaaaah!!!"
The red-haired girl in the cloak collapsed to the ground, sobbing uncontrollably in the arms of the short-haired man.
"Wasn't it supposed to be a D-rank mission to exterminate low-level slime hordes? How come a King-level monster has appeared?! Isn't this near Westco County? What are the knights of Westco County doing? Shouldn't such a huge King-level monster be reported for extermination?! Aaaaaah!"
Clearly, being carried in the giant turtle's mouth was not a pleasant memory. The red-haired girl was sobbing uncontrollably, her fairly pretty face scrunched up in a mess, and she looked to be only fourteen or fifteen years old.
"Alright, Ella, we can't be so rude to the lady who saved us."
The man with short red hair gently comforted the girl in his arms, stepped his right foot back slightly, and bowed, placing his right hand on his left shoulder as he greeted Xu Milu.
“Hello, beautiful lady, we are the ‘Thunder Dragon’ adventure team from Westco County. I am the captain, William Holmes Reilio. This is the team’s junior mage, Ella Reilio, and the archer half-elf, Osik. We apologize again for trespassing on your territory.”
As soon as William uttered those words, Osik, who was standing to the side, stared at Xu Milu, frowned as if he wanted to say something, but was kicked by Ella. Only then did he give Xu Milu a deep look and bow.
"I am Osik, thank you."
Ella breathed a sigh of relief, slightly lifted a corner of her cloak, and curtsied to Xu Milu:
“I am Ella Relio, the sister of William Holmes Relio. Nice to meet you.”
Although their etiquette was impeccable, a closer look revealed that they had not completely let their guard down; the hands of all three were trembling slightly as they bowed.
The other party was someone who could easily control a king-level magical beast. The three of them weren't foolish enough to think that the magical beast would have a chance to make a move once it left them.
It can unleash king-level water magic, possesses great intelligence, a body as tall as a dragon, an invulnerable body, and powerful magic that can control low-level monsters.
A King-level magical beast, that's a real King-level magical beast!
It should be noted that since the founding of the Adimas Empire two hundred years ago, there have only been two instances of King-level magical beasts appearing on the continent. One was when the Dororo Royal Court used forbidden magic to awaken the fire dragon sleeping in the lava volcano during the Battle of Bysma, and the other was when the rebellious Archmage Zeke used necromancy to summon the King-level magical beast, the Evil Soul Earth Bear, from hell.
Both of these king-level magical beasts brought enormous disasters to the empire. It can be said that once magical beasts of this level appear, they will bring devastating blows to mankind.
Looking at the smiling girl in front of me, she also had red hair, but her short, ear-length hair was a fiery red that resembled leaping flames. Two strands of long golden hair fell slightly down beside her ears, reflecting her clear golden eyes. A small yellow bird was curled up on the top of her head, which at first glance might have been mistaken for a special headdress.
The red-haired girl wore no extra jewelry, only a tree-shaped brooch with a deep green hue, and a delicate dagger inlaid with jewels at her waist. Although the material of her clothes was not discernible, the smooth texture and exquisite embroidery suggested that they were not cheap goods, but rather high-end items directly supplied to the capital.
Did they encounter the legendary "Slime Witch"?
Will they... die here?
Thinking of this, William and Ella both shuddered, their eyes filled with despair.
...
...
While the three of them were wildly imagining things, Xu Milu was also observing them.
William and Ella looked somewhat similar, with the same watery red hair and eyes, which made them look somewhat familiar. The half-elf Osik had long green hair, and his slightly pointed, half-long ears were hidden under his hair. Only upon closer inspection could one notice that his ears were indeed somewhat different from Lola's ears.
Adventure team?
A mage and a half-elf archer?
King-level monster?
Xu Milu observed the three people discreetly, and considering what she had seen and heard during this period, she had gained a preliminary understanding of this unfamiliar world.
