Chu Yunji's eyes revealed a hint of appreciation. "Knowing there are tigers in the mountains, you still venture into the tiger's den. You truly are a worthy daughter of the Li family. But tell me, which is faster, the hidden weapons in your hands or our bows and arrows?"
Li Ruo shook her head and said, "It's not that you're fast, it's that you have more."
Faced with an overwhelming enemy force, she and Liao Fusheng had no way to escape, so they simply decided not to try.
Liao Fusheng stood in front of her, saying, "Don't hurt her. I'll give you whatever you want."
Just as I was about to pick it up, huh? Where is it?
Chu Yunji's expression changed slightly, and he said to the guards beside him, "Go inside and search quickly." His tone was somewhat urgent.
The guard came out empty-handed. "Your Highness, there is nothing."
Li Ruo's lips curled up almost imperceptibly.
Liao Fusheng was stunned for a moment. As he was thinking, the bundle in his hand was snatched away by the guard.
Chu Yunji took it, squeezed it a couple of times, and found it was empty.
As expected of an old fox, he looked at Li Ruo with a suspicious expression, "It's you?"
"Me? What's wrong with me?" Li Ruo asked innocently.
Chu Yunji stared at her coldly for a moment, then said, "Men, search Miss Li's body and confiscate her hidden weapons as well."
"No!" Liao Fusheng reached out to protect her, and it was the first time Li Ruo had seen such a sinister and fierce look on his face.
Li Ruo laughed and said, "No need to search, I'll show you myself."
As she spoke, she rolled up her sleeve and tossed over the pistol, which was, of course, empty. Then she removed the hidden dart, which was still fully loaded.
Then, in front of them, he patted himself all over and spread his hands, saying, "Look, there's nothing left."
Chu Yunji didn't blink, afraid of being fooled by her trickery, but he couldn't figure it out at all.
Something as large as the imperial seal would not be completely unmarked if it were on her person.
That's right, he captured Liao Fusheng for many reasons, one of which was to find the Imperial Seal of the State.
After storming the Jade Terrace Temple, he asked the emperor for the imperial seal. The emperor said it had been lost in the flood, but he didn't believe him.
He knew all along that Liao Fusheng was the emperor's son who had been living among the common people. The fact that the Liao family came to the capital to find the emperor when the flood came was also his doing. He had planned this whole thing for a long time.
After occupying Yutai Temple, he instructed Eunuch Liu to remind the emperor that he had another son. He reasoned that the Liao family, in order to save their lives and for wealth and honor, would surely agree to the emperor's request to lure Liao Fusheng to the capital.
Knowing his days were numbered and in order to counter Liao Fusheng, the Emperor would surely tell Liao Fusheng where the Imperial Seal was hidden.
But he clearly saw Liao Fusheng go to the Sanqing Hall to look for something. Wasn't he looking for the Imperial Seal? How come it's not there?
Chu Yunji stared intently at Li Ruo for a while, then picked up the strange hidden weapon on the ground and examined it. "What a unique hidden weapon."
Seeing this thing still made his shoulder ache slightly.
The woman threw away all the hidden weapons, which shows that she really had nothing on her.
Li Ruo laughed and said, "Of course, this thing almost cost the prince his life that time in Beishan."
She was thinking that since the pistol had been exposed, if she put it back in her spatial storage, Chu Yunji wouldn't be able to find it and would keep bothering her, so she decided to leave it for the time being.
"Well, does Your Highness believe me now? If not, you can find a girl to touch it."
Chu Yunji had a somber face. Could it be that Liao Fusheng really wasn't going to find the Imperial Seal?
Now that this woman has lost her most powerful hidden weapon, she's trapped like a fish in a barrel. We can slowly deal with her. "Miss Li, aren't you curious about what I'm looking for?"
"Not curious," Li Ruo answered readily.
Chu Yunji then looked at Liao Fusheng, "What about him? Aren't you curious about his relationship with me? Don't you suspect that he might be in cahoots with me, and that his purpose was to lure you here?"
Li Ruo smiled and said, "That's strange. Why would he be on your side? He's clearly my partner."
Liao Fusheng looked at her sharply.
Chu Yunji sighed: "It seems he didn't tell you anything, yet you trusted him so much. Don't you think we're somewhat alike?"
Li Ruo's gaze swept over his face for a moment, then looked at Liao Fusheng and asked with a smile, "How do you resemble him? Your appearance reflects your heart. My Taoist priest is kind and gentle, while the prince has a fierce look on his face and his eyes are full of malice. You are not similar at all, right, Taoist priest?"
Liao Fusheng was stunned, his expression guilty. "I'm sorry, I... I kept this from you."
"Oh, there really is something." Li Ruo said with a half-smile, "You don't mean to say you're the emperor's son, do you?"
Liao Fusheng opened his mouth, but seemed unable to say anything, and only nodded.
Li Ruo suppressed the shock, disappointment, and anger welling up inside her, and smiled, "No way, how could this be? The Taoist priest is actually a prince? You've been hiding this well! Does that mean he's your royal uncle?"
Liao Fusheng just stared at her without saying a word, his eyes filled with pain.
Chu Yunji smiled, somewhat sarcastically, "Look, you went through all that trouble to save him, but his father is the one who killed your father."
Li Ruo's heart clenched slightly; it was indeed a bit melodramatic. "Tch, I knew I shouldn't have come to save you. I suppose your own royal uncle wouldn't have wanted your life."
She released his wrist.
Liao Fusheng felt as if a piece of his heart was empty, or as if he had been pricked by needles. His throat tightened. "I only have a blood relationship with them, but I am not one of them."
Chu Yunji said, "Since that's the case, I'll kill you." He took the bow and arrow from the soldier's hand and aimed it at Liao Fusheng. "Anyway, you're no longer of any use to me."
The bow and arrow are fully drawn.
Li Ruo laughed heartily, "How could he be useless? One of the reasons the prince captured him was to lure me here, wasn't it? Without him, could you control me?"
