Chapter 13 Little Divine Doctor Xie
Mianmian misses you so much!
The sixth princess rarely heard such blunt words. She turned her head away, thinking how glib and slick the child was.
Seeing that the Sixth Princess was ignoring her, Xie Mianmian stopped making a fuss and focused on doing her own thing.
She slowly ground the ink, startling the sixth princess, who gave a wink to the maid beside her. The maid quickly snatched the inkstone, saying, "Let me do it."
Xie Mianmian chuckled as she slowly moved the chair closer to the Sixth Princess, until she was right next to her best friend.
Sixth Princess: I say little brats are just annoying.
"My third brother is now the captain of the mission's guard."
Sixth Princess: My father is the emperor.
“Many people want to frame him, and I’ve been protecting my third brother these past few days!” Xie Mianmian patted her chest.
The sixth princess squinted and thought for a long time. She had never done anything practical for her father. Every time assassins attacked, she would hide under her father's yellow robe. Tsk, she lost this time.
A short, mocking laugh came from the right rear. The Sixth Princess knew without a doubt that it was the annoying Seventh Princess.
She said in an unfriendly tone, "Shut up, everyone, the Grand Tutor is coming soon."
Xie Mianmian covered her mouth and drew black circles on the paper with her right hand. This time, she wrote "四五六".
The next lesson was equestrianism, so everyone moved to the riding arena. The equestrian instructors were all soldiers who had fought bravely on the battlefield, but had retired due to hidden injuries.
Looking at the plump and strong horse, the children's faces turned red with excitement, and they were all eager to try.
The sixth princess, in particular, changed into a special dark red riding and archery outfit, tied her hair in a high ponytail, revealing her fair and full forehead, and wore black boots. She flicked her small riding whip sharply to the ground.
What a spirited and dashing young lady!
Xie Mianmian's eyes lit up as she looked at the Sixth Princess, showering her with compliments.
Hmph, the Sixth Princess held her head high with arrogance, like a peacock displaying its tail feathers in a show of power, quite pleased with Xie Mianmian's praise.
The Emperor's biggest headache right now is the Northern Rong. Once she masters horsemanship, she will lead her men to conquer the Northern Rong. What's so great about being a princess? She wants to be the number one female general in the world!
With these thoughts in mind, the sixth princess followed her master to practice riding with great ambition.
The children chatted excitedly around the horse.
Only a very few children sat blankly to one side.
One is Xie Mianmian. She is too young and can only ride a pony. Moreover, she rode Lieyan that morning. Right now, Xie Mianmian is more interested in the pastries on the side.
The other was the Seventh Prince, who was sitting not far from Xie Mianmian. He sipped his hot tea listlessly, thinking that riding horses in the countryside was much more fun than hanging out with a bunch of kids.
Moreover, he glanced at Xie Mianmian out of the corner of his eye. He was already sitting right there; wasn't that obvious enough? Why didn't she come and talk to him?
Xie Mianmian ate the cheese one bite at a time, her mouth filled with the milky flavor. She then took a sip of tea, let out a big burp, and felt much better.
The children, having eaten and drunk their fill, were getting bored and their hands were itching to play. Seeing the Seventh Prince beside them, they weren't afraid and went over to him, saying, "Seventh Prince, let's go find Aunt Lan to play."
She wanted to pet the cat.
The Seventh Prince's ears twitched, but he pretended not to hear and slowly sipped his tea until Xie Mianmian pouted and grabbed his sleeve with both hands, shaking it back and forth, "Seventh Prince, go on, the cat misses you too."
Upon hearing this, the Seventh Prince put down his teacup. He really couldn't do anything about her; how could someone be so good at acting cute?
He simply turned his chubby, youthful face up and said to Xie Mianmian, "You're so annoying. Don't do it again."
As she spoke, she got up and walked outside, occasionally tilting her head slightly to see if Xie Mianmian was following.
Xie Mianmian was overjoyed. The Seventh Prince was such a kind person; he was her second best friend.
The two children entered the deserted and desolate Cold Palace. This time, Xie Mianmian was not afraid and skipped around looking at everything.
They were also racing on the narrow palace path, but it was actually a challenge initiated unilaterally by Xie Mianmian.
Xie Mianmian followed the Seventh Prince through twists and turns, finding it very fun, like walking through a maze, with a new view every time she turned a corner.
She was pleasantly surprised to find large patches of ivy under the red wall, small orange-yellow flowers stubbornly sprouting from the cracks in the blue bricks, and a wild rabbit flashing by around the corner.
This deserted palace is teeming with life, where plants and animals thrive wildly.
Xie Mianmian loved it very much, especially the open space where the ginkgo tree was located. She called it a secret place, a place known only to her and the Seventh Prince.
The child shrugged and secretly covered his mouth to laugh.
The Seventh Prince turned his head and saw Xie Mianmian smiling. He breathed a sigh of relief. Many people were afraid of this place. They felt disgust and fear when they talked about the Cold Palace. They even made up rumors about a red-clothed female ghost taking lives in the middle of the night. It was really ridiculous.
This was, in fact, the first time he had brought someone else in. The Seventh Prince touched his nose and continued walking.
Soon, they arrived at Aunt Lan's courtyard. They pushed open the door, and the courtyard was just as it had been last time.
All the cats in the yard swarmed over, meowing, but this time the one seeking pets was Xie Mianmian.
The neglected seventh prince: ...
The fact that Xie Mianmian could understand them spread like wildfire throughout the entire Mimi community!
The goofy tortoiseshell cat rubbed its head against Xie Mianmian's feet. "Mianmian, my bottom hurts. Is there a splinter stuck in it?"
Xie Mianmian looked down at the hawksbill turtle's rear end and plucked a cocklebur.
The jet-black cat licked its paws, "Mianmian, my paws hurt so much, I can't walk!"
Xie Mianmian pinched the cat's paw, and the paw automatically retracted. Doctor Xie said there was no major problem; scratching trees more often to sharpen the claws would be fine.
The black cat meowed and ran away, refusing to admit that it was because it was too lazy to sharpen its claws.
The chubby orange cat squeezed in with difficulty. "Mianmian, my back is so itchy. Do I have fleas?"
Xie Mianmian stroked the big orange cat's back; it was smooth and clean. "You're too fat to lick your back!"
The orange cat lay sprawled on the ground, enjoying Dr. Xie's unique grooming massage, purring softly.
Xie Mianmian examined each cat one by one. After the cats had their "illnesses" treated, they were all refreshed and didn't leave. They surrounded Xie Mianmian and called her a miracle doctor.
"He's practically a Chinese medicine doctor in the cat world, meow~"
"Mianmian is so cute, she must be a little fairy!"
The Seventh Prince stood alone to one side, completely out of place with the lively atmosphere around Xie Mianmian; he only found them noisy.
Hmph, what a fickle cat.
However, the Seventh Prince looked at Xie Mianmian, who was playing with the kitten, with unusually gentle eyes. He touched his nose. The little veterinarian he had found was not bad, quite... capable.
Aunt Lan sat under the tree doing needlework, looking at Xie Mianmian who was surrounded by cats with a kind expression, and then at the Seventh Prince who had softened, she shook her head with a smile.
Before he died, he finally experienced the joy of being surrounded by his grandchildren.
The Seventh Prince counted the cats in the pile. "Wait, Xian Chan isn't here again." The tabby cat is missing again?
