"My lord, where are you going? The fortified city is over here."
Looking at the silver-haired knight before him, the village boy became somewhat uneasy, and even his usually loud voice became much quieter.
Leonis continued without stopping:
"We will not go to the fortified city, but head southwest."
"Huh? The southwest? Isn't the southwest a new territory?"
"My lord, wait for me..."
…………
Let's return to Linde's perspective.
After half a day of preparation, the procurement team, led by several bronze warriors, was ready and set off.
Before leaving, Lind added honey to their list.
There's no way around it; Nix just consumes too much honey. Even though Lind deliberately controlled her honey intake, the territory's already meager honey production was still severely limited. They had to buy some from outside to cover their expenses.
She's going to eat honey as her main food... Is that really okay?
After seeing off the purchasing team, Linde received a letter from the Blackrock Mine, along with a pile of goods. The letter was signed by Raymond, the Silver Knight whom Linde had previously pardoned.
The handwriting on the letter was quite rough, yet it filled the entire page.
The letter states that after Raymond led his troops to Blackrock Mine, he had already established a preliminary fortification there.
After several attacks by wild beasts, he led his men to hunt down almost all the carnivorous beasts in the area, and finally settled down there.
After reading the letter, Linde smiled with relief. Raymond was indeed reliable; with him at the mine, he could rest assured.
It should be soon that the mine will be repaired and officially open for operation.
Looking at the pile of various furs in front of him, Linde had an idea. He sent a few soldiers to deliver the raw furs brought back from the mine to the women's workshop for tanning.
Once the tanning is complete, it will be made into leather armor and other equipment, and then sent back to the Blackstone Mine to be used in its original form.
There will likely be some injuries and equipment wear and tear during the clearing out of wild beasts. We'll transport some diluted healing potions and supplies along with them.
Yes, perfect.
Linde wrote a reply to Raymond, which consisted of nothing more than words of encouragement and some words of comfort to the soldiers stationed at the mine.
Linde handed the letter to the messenger, who would then accompany the supply team from the square, along with supplies and mail, to the Blackstone Mine.
After finishing this task, Linde went to the farmland in his territory that had already been cultivated.
In these cultivated fields, some have already been planted with wheat seeds, while others remain empty, not yet planted.
The land reclamation is now complete, and spring planting has just begun. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the wheat in the fields will sprout within the next two days, just in time for the fertile soil to awaken.
Linde planned to drive around the fields with his activating aura after the wheat seeds were planted to improve the seed survival rate.
He could also show off to his people and increase his prestige among them.
Some formalities still need to be done.
The fulfilling day quickly came to an end, and before dusk, Linde returned to his mansion.
Linde looked around and only found Nix scratching her head, deep in thought, staring at the picture book on the table.
Linde took a closer look and saw that it was covered with crooked Common Language writing, which must have been written by Nix herself.
Lind managed to make out some familiar words from these scribbles: "lord," "sir," "servant," "Kree Empire," and "Truck family."
It's clear that Jair is trying very hard to teach Nix some words she can learn.
The servants of the Earl of Truk, if they grew up in the family, would know much more than the country bumpkins in the villages outside.
Even their cultural literacy and literacy levels are much higher than those outside.
Moreover, Lind could see that although Nix was scratching her head, she was actually sitting down and studying seriously.
He patted Nix's head, interrupting her engrossed work, and asked:
"You're the only one here? Where's Nazla?"
Nix affectionately enjoyed Lind's caresses and said:
"Meow~ She went out, meow, and said something... You'll know when you come back and go to your room, meow."
Strange, did they go out?
Linde was somewhat surprised, so he instructed the servant beside him:
"Prepare to serve dinner. I'll be down in a bit."
"Yes, Master."
After leaving Nix, Lind couldn't wait to go upstairs to his room.
The room was empty when the door was opened, except for a letter left on the table. The faint scent of the fox-woman's fragrance still lingered in the room.
Linde stepped forward and picked up the letter, which still seemed warm to the touch. It read:
"Lord Lind, please forgive my abrupt departure. Tomorrow I will be returning to the Orc Kingdom, and it may be a long time before we see each other again..."
"I will certainly fulfill Lord Linde's request. Once I have settled matters concerning the Orc Kingdom, we will meet again."
At the end of the letter, there was also a small lip print.
Lind clicked his tongue and said:
"Even on their way out, they couldn't resist teasing me a little..."
Linde chuckled mischievously, having roughly figured out what Nazra was up to.
"Hmph, just you wait."
Afterwards, Linde put the letter into his mage sleeve and went straight to the lobby on the first floor.
The table was now laden with delicious food. Seeing the extra set of cutlery before him, Linde instructed the servants around him:
"Please take these utensils away. Nazla won't be dining here tonight."
Jer and Jerlo exchanged a glance and said:
"Yes, Master."
…………
The pleasant mealtime quickly came to an end, but... Lind wondered if it was just his imagination, but he felt that there seemed to be a bit too much meat in today's dinner.
There are venison chops, wild boar choies, and even freshwater eels caught from the river.
Why do they all seem to be... highly nutritious foods?
Linde looked at Jer and Jero beside him, and the two of them responded to Linde's gaze with extremely calm eyes and expressions.
Lin De suspiciously withdrew his gaze and stopped thinking about it. After dinner, he returned to his room, intending to get some rest.
He had just lain down when he felt a bit hot, and he wondered if it was just his imagination. Could it be that the food really was effective?
Linde tried to clear his mind of all distractions, but it backfired. Just as he was about to calm down, the alluring image of Nazra popped into his mind again.
So Linde got up, put on a windproof cloak, and went to the caravan's encampment.
Soon, guided by the guards, they arrived at Nazla's tent.
Linde pushed open the bed curtains and saw Nazira smiling at him from the bedside, like a fairy who had succeeded in her scheme.
This scene made Linde laugh, so he strode forward and pinned Nazla down beneath him:
"You little fox, today I'll show you what I'm capable of."
Nazra giggled and wrapped her arms around Linde's neck. "My lord, you can't blame me. It's your own fault for taking the bait so easily."
Nazra's eyes were full of cunning. "Isn't this what the master likes..."
Tonight is destined to be anything but peaceful.
