Chapter 142 The Legacy of the Gods

Everything was ready. Linde took a short rest to adjust his condition and conserve his energy for the crucial battle tomorrow.

Time passed quietly, and at dawn, as the sky began to lighten, Linde led his troops on their journey without hesitation.

He rode a magnificent warhorse, its bronze gleam shining in the morning light, as if excited for its master's departure.

Beside him were Astaire and Raymond, Lind’s most trusted comrades and most capable assistants.

The feinting troops approached Greenburg swiftly like a whirlwind, their battle cries deafening and echoing through the sky.

The Sassians were clearly taken aback by the sudden attack, but they quickly recovered, and large numbers of troops poured out of the camp like a tide, ready to fight.

Seeing this, Lin De's lips curled up slightly; he knew that the enemy had fallen into a trap.

He decisively issued the order, and the bronze warriors quickly formed a square formation, steadily advancing towards the Saz people in the camp.

The moment the two sides made contact, a horn sounded, and the Silver Lance Knights, like silver lightning, suddenly charged out from the flank. Their speed was as swift as the wind, their momentum as overwhelming, and they instantly plunged into the enemy ranks as if they were in an empty field.

Jeffrey led the charge, his spear flying like a living thing, felling enemies wherever it went, their screams echoing through the air.

Linde seized the opportunity and, without hesitation, ordered his troops to launch a full-scale attack.

The bronze warriors advanced like an impenetrable wall. Under attack from multiple directions, the Sassians' defenses gradually collapsed, and they began to scatter and flee, turning their once orderly ranks into chaos.

On the battlefield, corpses lay strewn everywhere, and blood stained the earth red, as if the earth itself was weeping for this tragic battle.

With the last of the Sassians defeated, Lind breathed a sigh of relief. The next step was to concentrate his forces to break through Greenburg. Victory in this battle seemed to be just around the corner.

Just then, the Silver Lance Knights, who were about to charge into the Sas people's camp, suddenly stopped.

"What?"

It wasn't that they stopped, but rather that their warhorses were trembling and refused to move forward even a step.

These normally fierce warhorses were now trembling like quails, their eyes filled with fear.

Linde was startled. He had never seen anything like it before. The Silver Lance Knights' warhorses were all rigorously trained. For them to be so afraid, there must be some unknown danger ahead.

Lindler tightened the reins, cautiously observing the camp.

In Linde's activated vision, several inconspicuous active light spots rapidly grew larger and brighter, eventually developing into several enormous objects.

"What is this thing?"

Linde was stunned; it was the first time he had ever seen the active light change.

Moreover, this color was something he had never heard of before.

Black, pure black.

Linde couldn't describe what color the light was; was it really light?

Soon, the owner of this light burst out from the Sassian camp, revealing its true form.

They were three enormous, ferocious monsters, exuding an eerie aura, whose every step they took made the earth tremble.

A chilling black mist spread out from his body like a curtain, leaving behind only ruins in its wake.

The few remaining flowers and plants on the battlefield withered away in an instant, and the earth cracked as a result.

Their eyes, like burning black flames, revealed endless evil and terror.

Looking at the enormous monster before him, Lind felt immense pressure for the first time.

The vibrant light emanating from them told him that these three monsters were all extraordinary beings of the refined bronze level.

Right now, they only have Jeffrey and one bronze warrior on their side.

The situation is very bad...

From a distance, Lilens witnessed the incredible scene unfolding here.

His eyes widened in disbelief, his face filled with astonishment and disbelief.

Not only Lillens, but also his soldiers witnessed this astonishing scene.

For a moment, the entire army seemed to be frozen in place. The people who were busy stopped what they were doing and turned their attention to this place.

"What is that?"

Someone cried out in alarm, and this cry seemed to ignite a fuse of fear. Panic spread rapidly through the army like a plague.

The soldiers whispered amongst themselves, their faces filled with panic and unease.

After these monsters appeared, they stopped all movement and stood there stiffly.

Linde decisively activated the Deconstruction Aura, and immediately, a message appeared in Linde's mind.

Individual name: Shadow Abyss Split

Affiliation: Nocturnus (Eternal Devourer, Lord of the Shadow Abyss)

Nature: Legacy of the Gods

Holy crap!

Linde knew what this was...

Nocturnus, the Devourer of Eternal Silence, Lord of the Shadow Abyss...

Lord of the Light Veins, the religious opposite of Lucias.

If the Holy Spirit Lucius is light, then Nocturnus is darkness.

"But... something's not right..."

According to the conclusions Linde reached after searching through numerous religious texts, shouldn't God be two-sided?

So where did Noctoos come from?

There was no time for them to think too much, because in that instant, the three monsters in front of them seemed to have suddenly received some kind of mysterious command. Their bodies shuddered violently, and then they charged straight towards the Silver Lance Knights without hesitation!

These monsters were as fast as lightning, and in the blink of an eye they had closed in on the Silver Lance Knights.

At this point, the Silver Lance Knights were already well aware of the strength of these enemies.

They knew all too well that this was an exceptionally difficult battle, and that the slightest misstep could mean certain death.

However, the members of the Silver Lance Knights showed no sign of backing down in the face of such a ferocious enemy.

They quickly dismounted, formed a neat formation, and stood ready, determined to use their courage and strength to resist these terrible monsters.

At that moment, Captain Jeffrey charged out alone, and with lightning speed, raised his spear and thrust it at the largest of the Shadow Abyss Splits.

The spear shone with a pale blue light, piercing towards the monster with unparalleled power.

The split entity stretched out its hands to try and block the attack, but it underestimated its power.

The spear pierced its hands and plunged into its chest. The immense force stopped its charge, but it was also firmly held back by its massive size, unable to advance an inch.

"Dark monster, die!"

Just as Jeffrey was about to draw his spear and continue, he was surprised to find that his spear was stuck inside the monster's body and wouldn't budge.

Moreover, a black mist rose up along the spear, and his intuition, honed by years of fighting, told him that he must not come into contact with this black mist.

Jeffrey then decisively abandoned his spear and jumped back to retreat.

As soon as it left, the spear left on the split body was completely devoured and merged into the black mist.
