It was sunscreen foundation! It was foundation! Yunluo and An Chuyu didn't wear makeup! Who would need pa50+++ after returning to China! She fainted in the room! Yunluo went to 711 the next morning and spent 450b to buy a banana boat! She slept unhappy. A relaxing day at Phi Phi Island. At 8 o'clock in the morning, we arrived downstairs of the hotel. A long-distance bus came to pick us up.
We passed the multiple ticket checks smoothly and officially departed at 9:30. The boat has three floors. The top floor is open-air and well-lit, but the most ventilated and has more foreigners. The basement is stuffy and hot. The first floor is more suitable, but you have to go early to get a seat. It's a one-hour boat ride, so it's better to sleep.
Even Google Maps is not so accurate in Phi Phi Island, so it is relatively difficult to find the hotel by yourself. In addition, there is no signal in Sihai City. It is recommended to contact the hotel in advance and ask them to pick you up directly at the pier, otherwise you will have to carry your luggage and find a place to wait. Yunluo and An Chuyu waited at the purple ATM for more than ten minutes, and the hotel staff finally came.
I also helped Yunluo and An Chuyu move their luggage. This hotel is located on the right side of the beach in the north of Phi Phi Island, and the location is quite remote. Yunluo and An Chuyu booked a standard fan room, which is actually a small thatched house with basically no facilities, only cold water, and there are cockroaches, ants and the like...
The only advantage is that there is a small viewing balcony outside the thatched house, which can directly see the sea. It is a large sea view, and it is quite close to the beach, so you can go down to the beach to play from the path next to it. Another advantage of the thatched house that Yunluo and An Chuyu met is that you can directly climb up to the roof of the house below to see the sea, which is simply an unbeatable sea view.
With a glass of watermelon juice, Yunluo and An Chuyu sat there for the whole afternoon. In general, the advantages of this thatched house are that it is relatively cheap, the clerk is kind and the view is great. The disadvantages are that it is far from Tongsai Bay, the facilities are simple (there are only mosquito net beds, fans, toilets and cold water shower facilities), and there are cockroaches and ants (not recommended for girls).
If you really want to stay, you can choose their deluxe sea view room, which is about 500b more expensive. But the conditions are better than the thatched cottage. There are also some nice hotels nearby, which are probably not cheap. The room is very close to the beach in the north of Phi Phi Island. For lunch, I just picked a random restaurant on the beach. A padthai, a firedrice and a can of coke cost 240b in total.
The fried rice here is too strong. Fried rice is the safest... After eating, I walked to the beach. The tide began to recede, leaving some garbage and stains. It looked very dirty... You can also see a lot of small crabs, which run very fast and can't be caught at all. You can only catch hermit crabs... Back to the thatched house to rest for a while, change shoes and go to climb the viewpoint.
The road to the viewpoint is not obvious, but it is not difficult to find it if you ask people. First, you have to climb a long staircase. If you are lucky, you can see monkeys. Don't think you have arrived here. You still have to keep going forward. It is recommended to go to the closer viewpoint 1 first and then continue to climb up to viewponit2.
Although it says it's a 5-minute walk, be prepared to walk for 15 minutes... We finally got there after a lot of hard work! The scenery is really good. It is said that watching the sunset here is beautiful, but Yunluo and An Chuyu arrived early, so it will probably take more than an hour before the sunset... We were tired from the climb and didn't want to wait any longer.
So Yunluo and An Chuyu decided to go back to the thatched cottage to watch the sunset and take photos... They waited until it was completely dark before going out for dinner. They walked all the way to the pier and chose the popular tonsaiseafood. The restaurant is right on the beach and specializes in seafood. Yunluo and An Chuyu ordered a crayfish (about 900b), 2 large shrimps (about 350b), and a large beef skewer.
One seafood fried rice and one coconut. In the end, including the service charge, it was about 1600b, the most expensive meal in Thailand. The shrimps were BBQed directly, the taste was okay, but there was no surprise. As a person, I felt that it did not reach the level of "seafood" that Yunluo expected. After the big spend, I walked around the vicinity of Tonsai Bay and booked a long-tail boat for a one-day tour of Phi Phi Island tomorrow.
Depart at 11:00. Came back after watching the sunset at 6:30. Breakfast and lunch included, snorkeling equipment provided, 550b/person. On the way, I met some people holding a little monkey in their arms, so cute. If you look at them for a few more times, they will push the monkey to you, probably for money... The northern beach is very lively at night, and the bars by the beach are bright and lively, with a great atmosphere.
Outside the larger bars, there were people performing fire dances and small games. Anyone who could walk under a red-hot wooden stick would get a small drink. The people having fun were all foreigners. It was said that the fire sticks were not actually very hot? It was said that they were actually on drugs? (I heard this later when I was chatting with foreigners in Bangkok) Yunluo and An Chuyu watched the performance for a while.
I chose a relatively quiet place to sit down and have a drink. I only ordered a glass of lemonade and a bottle of beer. Pretty innocent, right? Then the boss pointed to a line of small words on the menu: "weed: 300b". Yunluo thought it was the minimum consumption, so I wanted to order something else. Yunluo flipped through the menu and the boss smiled and walked away...
Later, Yunluo realized that weed is marijuana... Yes, the people at the next table were smoking a tower-like thing, which must be weed... Or maybe Tuyang Tucson broke Yunluo's heart... It is said that there are more people and more excitement during fullmoon. I was woken up by the sound of thunder and rain early in the morning, and I couldn't help worrying whether it would affect today's sailing.
On the second day in Phi Phi Island, I booked another hotel. I had planned to check in there before going out to sea, but it was raining and it was inconvenient to carry the luggage around, so I postponed the check-in until I came back from the sea. Around ten o'clock, the rain gradually stopped and the sun began to come out.
Thank God, we immediately went to the beach below to take pictures and gather at the designated location on time (where we booked the tickets yesterday). Someone took Yunluo and An Chuyu to the dock to board the boat. There were already hundreds of boats competing for the current at the dock. In addition to Yunluo and An Chuyu, there were two other girls from China, and the rest were foreigners.
Breakfast was orange juice and sandwiches, both of which were very fake. The sandwiches only had shredded carrots and onions. If you don't like it, I suggest you eat outside before coming back. However, since you have to take a half-day boat ride, it is not recommended to eat too much. First stop: Viking. In fact, I only saw the word "viking" from a distance. I didn't get close.
This is the first snorkeling spot, we went directly into the sea. The water is very clear, there are many tropical fish, they will come around when you throw bread, it is recommended to bring your own bread to feed the fish. The foreigners on the boat jumped off quickly, leaving only the boatman and his little daughter. In addition, Yunluo and Anchu met four Chinese people, it was embarrassing...
In the end, Yunluo and An Chuyu went down. It was a waste to take a day trip without snorkeling. However, it is still recommended that people who can't swim and have no snorkeling experience should be cautious in the water. The water is clear, but it is unknown how deep it is. Yunluo can't tread water, so he can only hold the ladder all the time and dare not swim out at all...
Although I couldn't enjoy it to my heart's content, I still saw fish swimming around me, which was quite novel. Second stop: ? ? . Actually, Yunluo didn't know where this place was. I didn't know whether the boatman didn't tell me or he told me but Yunluo couldn't hear him or Yunluo heard me but didn't understand. Anyway, I didn't know where it was... Maybe it was Bamboo Island?
Such a beautiful beach, with some dead trees, perfect for taking photos. The sand is white and fine, much better than the beaches in the north, and there are many corals and shells. Unfortunately, there are almost no fish on the beach, so it is not suitable for snorkeling. Lunch is solved here, a small box lunch. The content is the same as breakfast, shredded radish + shredded onion...
Boys basically won't be full. It is recommended to bring some dry food... The third stop: Mosquito Island. It is also a snorkeling spot, don't go to the island. The fish here are more diverse and numerous than Viking. The fourth stop: Monkey Beach. If you want to go to Monkey Beach, please be sure to wear snorkeling shoes, don't go barefoot (you will paddle), don't wear flippers (you will slip), and don't have flippers, you need shoes!
Because there were many reefs below. The boat was parked far from the beach, and it was very rough to walk over. In addition, the waves pushed and pushed the boat, so it was hard to stand steadily. It was easy to get scratched and slip. The foreigners came prepared, and only Yunluo and An Chuyu met a few. Yunluo barely walked over barefoot. When he came back, he counted at least 3 scratches on each foot.
The most annoying thing was that one of the wounds was directly pierced by a small shell, and there was a lot of sand hidden in the beach. It took Yunluo a long time to deal with it after returning. And when Yunluo was about to reach the shore with difficulty, it was time to come back and gather, and then he had to walk back to the boat with difficulty. Unless you think your foot skin is super thick.
Otherwise, don't challenge the sharp corals and shells. The fifth stop: Maya Bay. The island fee is 100b/person. You have to walk from one side of the beach to the other. There are many mosquitoes on the way... Many people will rest and swim here. At this time, the sun is not too strong, soaking in the warm water and looking at the surrounding scenery is very comfortable.
The sixth stop: Bird's Nest Cave. Actually, we just passed by it. It can't be counted as a stop. The seventh stop: Sunset. After visiting various scenic spots, the captain will navigate to the direction of Phi Phi Island. But when we reach the sea surface that is still a distance away from Phi Phi Island, we will stop and watch the sunset together. The moon has come out on the other side.
The trip ended after watching the sunset. We returned to Phi Phi Island in a few minutes. After getting off the boat, we rushed back to the hotel and checked in at another hotel. Tonight's accommodation was booked at the Phi Phi Papaya Resort at the viewpoint. The location is halfway up the mountain, not very convenient, but the price/performance ratio is very high.
The room was 260 RMB per night, the service was very good, the room had air conditioning, TV, refrigerator, safe, balcony with a view of the sea, and breakfast included! This hotel requires pre-authorization, and I paid directly from my Yunluo card in US dollars. After taking a hot shower, I went out to find food and picked a roadside stall that I had passed by several times before (it was called Mama Curry Rice?? I forgot).
I don't know why I always think it's delicious, so I finally found a chance to try it. It really suits my taste. 60b per portion, cheap and delicious. I guess her chicken steak is also good, because many foreigners come to ask, but it was sold out when Yunluo and An Chuyu went. After eating, I walked around for a while and booked a boat ticket from Phi Phi Island back to Krabi Town tomorrow.
Only 10:30, 250b per person, cheaper than when I came. p.s. The free snorkeling equipment only includes a mask and a snorkel. The snorkel does not have a float valve. The rubber on the outer edge of the mask feels a bit old and easy to get water in. So those who have the conditions and are not good at swimming are advised to bring their own. Three places a day, land, sea and air. What wakes Yunluo up is the breakfast provided by the hotel.
It was delivered to my door at 8 o'clock. It was a great feeling to have breakfast on the small balcony while looking at the scenery. Then I packed up, checked out, went to the pier to take a boat, returned to Krabi Town, took a taxi to the airport, and took a flight to Bangkok. There were many drivers picking up passengers at the pier, so Yunluo and An Chuyu found two other people to share a ride. Each person paid 100b to be taken to the airport.
It was already evening when we arrived in Bangkok. We took a taxi from the airport to the hotel, which cost 310b in total, including the 50b airport fee and the 50b toll. This hotel in Bangkok is right by the Chao Phraya River, but the location is quite remote and the transportation is inconvenient. It is said to have a river view, but it is not very attractive because the river water is not clean... Moreover, the house is very old and simple, and the toilet is directly connected to the river. When you go to the toilet, you can hear the sound of your excrement flowing into the river...
There are a lot of mosquitoes, it's a mosquito nest! The only good thing is that a bunch of foreigners would sit together every night to chat and gossip, the atmosphere was very good. After checking in, I went to Khao San Road for shopping and dinner. It's a 15-20min walk. Khao San Road and the two nearby roads are quite lively, with many bars, where foreigners listen to music, drink and chat.
There is no mistake in the poem, post, content, and read the book on 6, 9, and bar!
There are also many small vendors. You can buy fried noodles, fried rice, barbecued juice, ice cream, fruit, fried insects, etc., and you can eat and drink to your heart's content for more than 100b per person. Unlike Siam, there is no subway or skytrain in the Grand Palace area by the river. Most of the houses are bungalows, and they are relatively old. It feels like the Grand Palace in Bangkok is really like the Forbidden City in Beijing, with many people.
Various tour groups. There is a square outside the Grand Palace. There are many pigeons, and they are not shy. Someone will stuff feed into your hand. After stuffing, walk away. If you don't want to spend money, stuff it back to him. Because after feeding, another person will come to collect money from you. They said 100b for a small bag, and 6 bags for Yunluo and An Chuyu cost 600b.
It's a deep well of ice. Yunluo didn't want to cause trouble so he gave them 100b to get rid of them. The most annoying thing is that it ruined my mood. Although the Grand Palace is not as magnificent as the Forbidden City, it is very delicate and feels like a work of art. It's like a phone case with diamonds, but it has a bunch of buildings... without a tour guide (and I'm too lazy to eavesdrop on others).
I could only look around and take photos based on the map. A morning was only enough to wander around. The Jade Buddha was enshrined in the Great Hall. Yunluo thought it was just a Buddhist temple in the palace and didn't pay much attention. Later, I looked at the map and realized that it was the Jade Buddha Temple... As noon approached, there were fewer people in the Grand Palace.
We had planned to eat at the pier at noon, but since everyone was gone, we didn't want to go too far, so we ate at a restaurant near the Grand Palace. We didn't have high hopes for the nearby attractions. Curry chicken rice + fried rice + juice cost over 300 baht, and it wasn't tasty. While eating, we met Anne, a Filipino friend, and her mother who were helping each other take photos at the Grand Palace.
We felt like we were destined to meet, so we made an appointment to go to the Reclining Buddha Temple. Anne's mother was a little tired from walking, so she stayed in the restaurant to wait for Yunluo and Anchu to meet. The Reclining Buddha Temple is not far, but it feels like it takes more than ten minutes to walk. What a big reclining Buddha! The big Buddha also has toe marks and the soles of its feet are also beautiful. You can exchange 20b for a bowl of coins and put them in each bowl.
After seeing the reclining Buddha, we went back to the restaurant to pick up Anne's mother and went to Wat Arun together. There is a pier next to the reclining Buddha. You can take a boat to the opposite side at 3b. You can see Wat Arun when you get out of the pier. There is also a pier outside the Grand Palace, but it can only go to the other side, so to go to Wat Arun, you have to go to the pier of the reclining Buddha.
Unfortunately, the temple was under renovation, and many buildings were covered with scaffolding, and it was not possible to go up to the big tower to see the river view. After a brief tour of the temple, Yunluo, An Chuyu and Anne parted ways. Yunluo and An Chuyu took a boat to Saphantaksin at the pier, where they could transfer to the free ferry to Asiatique Riverside Night Market.
(It is said that the ferry boat's operating hours are: 4:30-11:00 pm, every 15 minutes.) Bangkok's boats have different routes, distinguished by flags. Boats of different colors stop at different stations, so be careful to see clearly before getting on board. It seems that you buy tickets after you get on board. Since no one came to Yunluo and An Chuyu to buy tickets, Yunluo actually didn't know...
The free ferry at Asiatique will have a big sign and a long queue, just follow it. Both ferry trips take a short time, about half an hour in total, which is cheap and you can see the river view on both sides. The Asiatique night market is really big, with various small shops, mostly handicrafts and clothing, a food court, and some entertainment facilities (Ferris wheel, etc.).
The types of shops are similar, and they all have the same things. If you want to buy some souvenirs, you can find them here. The Ferris wheel is very expensive, 600b/person... The way to leave is the same. You can take the free ferry from the pier to Saphantaksin, then transfer to BTS to Saladaeng, and take Exit 1 to Patpong Night Market.
Why go to Patpong Night Market? Because someone wanted to see the red light district, so Yunluo arranged this night market... It was not for shopping at all, the goal was to go to the various nightclubs in the alleys on both sides of the night market. People like Yunluo and An Chuyu who were so fresh and clean didn't want to hang out, they really just wanted to see it...
In the night market, people will invite you to go to various bars. If you go into the alley, you will see many a-go-go bars. The door is specially opened with a small gap, just in time to see the pole stage inside, a group of bikini girls are pole dancing. Generally, a bottle of beer is 150b. I don’t know if there are any other consumption requirements. (To be continued..)
