In fact, the name caracal comes from the Turkish word "karakulak", which means "black ears". Of course, some people have seen completely black caracals.
The caracal hunts mostly at night (but during the cooler seasons, during the day) on rodents and hares; rarely, it will even attack gazelles, small antelopes, or young ostriches.
The caracal is a very picky eater, discarding the entrails of mammals it catches, and will pluck the hair from some hyraxes and larger prey, and will clean the flesh from the skin to avoid eating the hair. However, it will eat the feathers of small birds, and will tolerate carrion.
It is best known for its bird-catching skills; the caracal can catch birds in flight, sometimes more than two at a time.
Caracals in most areas do not have a fixed mating season. After a gestation period of 69-78 days, the female cat will give birth to 1-6 kittens. The kittens open their eyes around 10 days old and are weaned at 10-25 weeks.
After 16-18 months, the kittens reach sexual maturity, and of course they often go out on their own at 12 months old. In addition, they have a relatively long lifespan of about 19 years.
Some people in the United States keep caracals as domestic animals, and Yunluo really wants to raise one!
Nalan Shiqi, Yunluo and the other two were not interested in cultural landscapes, so they had no interest in visiting the Maasai village and decided not to visit it before departure.
Jamal kept asking Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo if they wanted to go and see the Maasai people. Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo couldn't bear to see his disappointed face and also wanted him to earn some commission, so they negotiated the price from US$50 per person to US$50 for two people. Then, Nalan Shiqi, Yunluo and the other three wasted half a day visiting the village.
I don't have any thoughts or feelings. It's all very commercialized now. I bought some wood carvings, but the workmanship is not very good. Yunluo would rather go on safari with this time.
Without further ado, let's look at the photos. At the welcoming ceremony, they competed with the Maasai in high jump. Of course, the result was that Nalan Shiqi and Yun Luowan lost to the big and small l, who were exhausted.
The first sunrise in Ambo was too cloudy. The sunrise was not very beautiful and the visibility was too poor.
Watching the sunrise and sunset is a compulsory course for Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo. I originally thought that Xiao D, who never watched the sunrise, would stay in the camp, but I didn’t expect that he would get up early every day as well.
In the morning, the sky was completely bright, and there was no sign of the sun. Yunluo thought there was no hope of sunrise based on his experience. But Xiaol was still holding on. After about ten minutes, Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo saw salted egg yolk, although it was not perfect. But it was enough. So don't treat Africa with other standards. This is near the equator. Don't give up until the last moment.
The second sunrise in Ambo, elephants, and Kilimanjaro. This was the day Nalanshiqi and Yunluo left. They had to check out early in the morning and pack their luggage, which showed that Nalanshiqi and Yunluo had to get up even earlier.
God was kind to Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo. They saw a more beautiful sunrise than yesterday, and there was an elephant as a model for them. The only flaw was the lack of trees, which made the film lack some feeling. But seeing the sun that was so big that it made people doubt it, at least Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo didn't get up early in vain.
I used to hate the saying: China's moon is not as bright as other countries'. But this time, it is absolutely true that Africa's sun is bigger than China's!
In order to find the best angle between the model elephant and the sun, Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo reversed the car two or three times, and the engine noise annoyed it.
The elephant flapped its ears, stood up its front legs, and roared as it rushed towards Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo. After two steps, it stopped, slowly crossed the road, and walked to the side of Qili. The elephants that acted alone were all old and aggressive male elephants who were driven out of the herd and died alone.
On this day, we got up early and checked out. Taking Kibo's breakfastbox, Nalanshiqi and Yunluo went deep into Ambo again. After watching the sunrise of model elephants and the herds of wildebeests in the park, they left Ambo from another road in the park. Nalanshiqi and Yunluo were getting farther and farther away from Kenya and closer and closer to Tanzania.
After leaving the park, Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo stopped the car to eat. There were six servings for five people. Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo gave the extra ones to Jamal, thinking that he would take them home to his children.
Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo couldn't finish their lunchboxes, so they put the remaining food in a box and planned to give it to the local Maasai children. Unexpectedly, Jamal also gave all his extra food to the local children, saying something to them and laughing in a friendly manner.
At about ten o'clock, Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo arrived at Namanga, a small border town in Kenya. They went through entry procedures and visas for $50 each. (This sentence has been reviewed for a long time and cannot be posted!)
The American wanted 100 US dollars. The Germans in Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo's team asked the staff, and when they heard 100 US dollars, they exclaimed.
The day before the trip, Xiao L kept saying that Nalan Shiqi and Yun Luoshui couldn't cross the border, and they had to drink all the water and get rid of it all. He may have been to places like this too many times in the United States. As a result, Nalan Shiqi and Yun Luo arrived at the border. In addition to completing some formalities, the Kenyan car and the Tanzanian car were parked in the same parking lot.
The luggage of Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo was transferred to the new safari car by Livin and the guide who came to pick them up. No one checked anything, so they could easily enter the country even with two boxes of water.
What’s funny is that Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo treated the fat Livin as their guide. After he introduced himself, he kept asking Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo if they had heard of his name.
Little L, who is the best at English, was of course confused. From the beginning to the end, Little L and Little L had never interfered with the itinerary; Little D had written an email to Livin but she didn't even remember it. Fortunately, Yunluo reacted and quickly replied, "Yunluo knows you. Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo were in contact through Pimai. Everyone matched up."
Our time with Jamal has come to an end. We are reluctant to part and took a group photo in the safari car where we have been together for five days.
Nalan Shiqi and Yunluoxin’s chef is called Ram, a kind man who speaks poor English, is introverted and shy, but is experienced, has excellent cooking skills, and has a son and a daughter. It is hard to tell his age, but he should be younger than Jamal from Kenya.
I forgot the name of the guide, he was a young student wearing a red shirt, had no work experience, his eyes lit up when he mentioned money, and he knew nothing about cars.
The road conditions in Tanzania are much worse than those in Kenya. They are very dirty, bumpy and dirty.
The same Toyota Land Cruiser modified car, the interior seat configuration is not as comfortable as the previous one. There are three rows of seats in the back. The first row has a lot of space, while the last two rows are cramped. Yunluo and Xiaod, the two girls, have to squeeze their legs together.
There is no mistake in the poem, post, content, and read the book on 6, 9, and bar!
Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo first came to the local travel agency in Tanzania to pay the remaining amount to Livin. From all angles of the local travel agency, none of them were as professional as the Kiboslopes safari in Kenya.
The car has no radio, and the company logo on the car is just a fresh sticker. The office environment is also not comparable to Kiboslopessafaris, there are no staff, only an office.
This is not Livin's Lens company, but another local travel company, I can't remember the name, but they serve more Korean tourists.
Livin's lens company is in Moshi, and his expertise is mountaineering, with a very good reputation. As for safari, he outsourced Nalanshiqi and Yunluo respectively. He provided a good price-performance ratio according to Nalanshiqi and Yunluo's route and accommodation requirements, and he also had a relationship with Pimai, so Nalanshiqi and Yunluo chose him.
Safari outsourcing is a common event. Although Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo had a lot of unpleasant experiences in Tanzania, the solutions were satisfactory to Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo. When they set out again, Livin said to the guide: Don't let the guests complain!
The lens company provided one bottle of water per person per day, which was obviously not enough for Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo. So the guide took Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo to buy water, not in a supermarket, but at a roadside stall. Two boxes of water and 8 cans of beer cost 70,000 shillings, which is about 300 yuan.
Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo went to measure the tire pressure. Remember this detail, measuring the tire pressure, Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo were quite happy at the time, thinking that the guide was very responsible, but they also doubted that he only measured the tire pressure of one tire.
At one o'clock in the afternoon, Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo stopped at a visitor center to eat. There were many wood carvings for sale here. The workmanship was the most delicate in the entire trip and the price was also very expensive. You could bargain, but Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo gave up and regretted it after thinking about it.
The lunchbox was delicious, and there were many cats there. Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo wasted some time. The guide did not tell them how long the lunch would take or what time they had to leave. Jamal always told them the time.
Although the guide first gave Nalan Shiqi, Yunluo and the other three an unfriendly impression, it was purely based on feelings at that time. The next step was to speak with facts. On the way to Manyara, the first round of formal confrontation with the guide. See the photo. Everyone remember this guide, and never run into him.
Passing through a small town, there were four or five art shops on the roadside. Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo stopped to buy paintings. The sun was very hot, so Yunluo stayed in the car while they went to pick paintings. Watching them choose from one shop after another under the scorching sun, they found the ones they liked and successfully bargained for them, with smiles on their faces. At this time, the guide walked towards the shop owner and after a few words, the three of them returned to the car with gloomy faces and empty hands.
It turned out that the guide wanted a kickback from the store owner, so the store owner refused to sell the painting at the agreed price and instead raised the price. (To be continued...)
