Chapter 1140: Not Understanding Love

The front of the church is a combination of many different architectural styles. The gray walls are reflected on the white marble, giving people a sense of harmony and solemnity. In the center is a group of beautiful sculptures that reflect the ideal morality of Catholicism - faith, hope and mercy.

However, if a group of people came to your house, tore it down, and then built their own house on the ruins of your house, can you have faith in them, place hope in them, and feel their kindness?

The chapel with red exterior walls. It is quiet and clean inside. People who come in naturally keep quiet. Even tourists are very low-key.

There are no noisy Chinese tour groups here. People choose to sit or kneel to pray. There is usually a skylight on the top of the church, which seems to be shining from heaven. The door is always open to believers. As mentioned earlier, the vast majority of Mexicans now believe in Catholicism.

It was hanging from the top of the church. Where it pointed would tell Yunluo and Nalan Shiqi the tilt of the entire building.

The church has a tour program, which is to climb the bell tower to visit at several bell-ringing times every day. It only costs more than 10 pesos, less than 10 RMB. The bell tower is divided into two parts, the east and west. There is not just one bell, not just two bells, but a total of 25 bells! 18 of them are hung in the east tower and the rest are in the west tower.

Since there was a specific time to climb the bell tower and Nalan Shiqi had not arrived yet when she went there, she just gave the money to the gentleman above. After that, he ignored Nalan Shiqi. Because of the language barrier, Nalan Shiqi thought that the money was paid in vain. After waiting for a while, he indicated to Nalan Shiqi that the time was almost up, don't worry, wait a little longer.

After a while, Yunluo, Nalan Shiqi and his group climbed up the narrow spiral staircase in the church. They saw the first bell. I don't know if it is the largest bell. I found out from the Internet that the largest bell is called Santa Maria de Guadalupe, which was cast in 1792. It has a diameter of 3 meters at the bottom, is 5 meters high, and weighs 13 tons. When the bell rings, it can be heard 10 kilometers away.

The other main bells are the Doñamaria, which weighs 6,900 kilograms, and the Laronca. These two bells were placed in 1653. The largest bell was placed in 1793.

What does the top of the church look like? Because the top of the church is not flat, you can see an arch like this. There are also several spires. The decoration on the top of the church has a history of three or four hundred years and has been slowly weathered.

From the church, you can see the city of Mexico. The dedicated staff here will explain the situation of the bell tower in detail in Spanish, which Yunluo cannot understand. Looking down from the top of the church, the Zocalo Square in late autumn is full of the atmosphere of welcoming Christmas.

A giant Christmas tree. The size of the Mexican flag is very large. It may be related to the fact that this country cherishes its hard-won independence after being enslaved for too long. The time has come, and the bell ringing begins. It turns out that more than two people are ringing at the same time.

The bell towers are the work of Xalapan artist José Damián Ortizdecastro, a neoclassical building 67 meters high in the shape of bells and roofed in a white stone called chiluca. The bell towers were built in the 18th century, when the cathedral had already existed for 240 years. Ortizdecastro died unexpectedly in the late stages of the construction.

Taxco is a town of 50,000 people in the outskirts of Mexico City. It has a very rugged terrain. The city center is the Parish of Santa Priscaya Sansebastián, a sea of Spanish-style red-tiled houses. The streets here are messy. They are narrow and rugged. This makes the streets picturesque, but also dangerous. The bluestone paving of most of the streets adds to the charm of this town.

When Yunluo was staying in an economy hotel in Mexico City, he met a fellow countryman from China, who introduced the place called Taxco to Yunluo. Yunluo thought it sounded like a good opportunity to get to know the country more deeply, so he decided to come here with him.

From the South Bus Terminal, you can take a bus to Taxco, which is the last stop at the southern end of Metro Line 2. It is called Tasque?a. After arriving at the station, follow the signs to the left and get off the subway platform. After passing a dense area of small shops, you will find that the South Bus Terminal is just opposite. After entering. Different bus companies have different ticket counters, all of which have buses to Taxco, but since Yunluo did not buy a ticket in advance, when he arrived at 9 am, he could only buy a ticket for 12:30 pm. If the fellow villager strongly wants to go, Yunluo and Nalan Shiqi bought two tickets. 116 pesos.

It took about 2 and a half hours to drive to the taxco. When we were almost in the town, all the cars were stuck and couldn't get in. Because of the language barrier, I didn't know what happened.

After a long time, I realized that it was a strike. Maybe the workers felt that they were not treated well, so they drove a broken car to block the road in and out of the town. It was the first time that Yunluo was troubled by the democratic system.

The town is rich in silver jewelry, which also attracts tourists. Therefore, silver mining and tourism are the mainstays of the local economy.

Because traffic was blocked and his fellow countryman was going to fly to the United States from Mexico City the next day, he was afraid that he would not be able to return to Mexico on time the next day, so he made a fuss about going back as soon as he arrived.

You can't buy a return ticket at the Southern Bus Terminal. When Yunluo and Nalan Shiqi arrived at the Taxco Town at 3:30, they couldn't buy a ticket for the same day, even though there were buses at 5 and 7. His companion got nervous because he had a flight back to the United States the next afternoon. Although Yunluo and Nalan Shiqi bought return tickets at 7:30 the next morning, he still insisted on going to the departure station to beg for the 5 o'clock bus to take Yunluo and Nalan Shiqi away.

Yunluo could have chosen to stay because he was leaving Mexico the day after tomorrow. However, he didn't have enough pesos on him - he only had 1,000 pesos, and this fellow villager borrowed 400 pesos from him. He had US dollars, but he was reluctant to exchange them because the exchange rate was not good. The guide said that Mexico was unsafe and it was not recommended to carry credit cards with you, so Yunluo didn't bring his credit card with him. With only 600 pesos on him, Yunluo didn't dare to stay here alone for a night, fearing that he didn't have enough money, so he had to rush back to the city with this fellow villager.

So, it took 5 hours on the road to get to this beautiful place. But Yunluo left in a hurry before he could have a good time. Although it was a disappointing day, Yunluo still summed up several useful experiences:

First of all, it is good to go out with a companion, but don't go with a companion just for the sake of going out with a companion. It is very important to make a plan first.

Second, don't assume that everyone who has gone out has the same experience as you and trust their judgment. This fellow made two big mistakes. The first was to suggest going alone instead of joining a tour group. Joining a tour group is only a few dozen RMB more expensive than going alone. If you join a tour group, you won't be unable to buy a ticket in the morning and then unable to buy a ticket back when you arrive. And in a place where the language is completely different, it will be much more interesting to join a tour group with an English tour guide. Yunluo didn't make adequate plans in advance, and the misjudgment of his companions, as well as the unforeseen circumstances such as the local strike, ruined Yunluo's day trip.

Third, do not travel with people whose spending habits are very different from yours, as this will affect your mood during the trip. Since I stayed in the tax office for a short time, I have too few photos. So I put together a collection of photos of other people I took:

An interesting old man, he started to play with his fellow countrymen when he got on the subway. This is also in the subway, do you know what it is? The ticket price of the Mexican subway is fixed and cheap, so many small vendors come on the subway. This one is selling pirated CDs, he carries a speaker with its own power supply and plays CDs to attract business - it's expensive, a pirated CD costs about 15 yuan, which is more expensive than the authentic ones in China.

A mother and her son in Zocalo Square. The big bag is very interesting. It is much better looking than the red, blue and white ones in China.

A vendor. I found Yun Luo and took a snapshot. Sorry:) No matter how poor they are. Mexicans always have shiny and neat hair. Of course, this cool guy's hairstyle is a bit exaggerated, but it reflects the characteristics of Mexicans who care about their hairstyle.

According to the travel notes about the characteristics of the University of Mexico, Yunluo decided to go and see it. Similarly, the convenient subway can take Yunluo directly to the university. However, this inconspicuous little door made Yunluo look for a long time.

There are many free bus routes in the vast University of Mexico. The ruta 1~5 you see above are the bus routes that pass by the school gate. The bus stops are covered with small advertisements from students. It is very similar to the Democracy Wall of Peking University.

The campus is very beautiful and green. It can be seen that the students are very happy together. There are some stones scattered in the woods. The painting on the wall of the University Art College building is full of the characteristics of Mexican prehistoric civilization, which sets off the rich cultural and artistic atmosphere of the school.

689-sex, obviously. Mexico is pushing personalized license plates. And no one thinks there is anything wrong with this. The Mexican Art Museum is located in the city center. The artwork at the door makes it hard for you to associate this with a country with multiple fault lines in history and culture. Yunluo bought a ticket and visited the huge oil painting exhibition in the art museum.

Here, you can see the history of Mexico condensed over hundreds of years. The butcher knife of the invaders and the people who resisted - the Mexican people placed their hopes on the winged man in the middle - is he a man or an angel? People expected him to change everything.

Does the decapitated statue represent a rebellion against the past, a revolution, a struggle? Does the naked man lying weakly at his mother's feet symbolize Mexico, which has been weakened by the bloodbath of the colonizers?

Does she want to fly? Why is she handcuffed by heavy subway chains? Is the gray corpse below her enemy or companion? Does the lewd and rogue smile mean that the indigenous Mexicans were disappointed and enjoyed the invasion of Spanish colonists?

There is no mistake in the poem, post, content, and read the book on 6, 9, and bar!

In front of the fully armed invaders, the natives were burned alive... The whole exhibition presents a bloody and terrifying atmosphere, and at the same time is filled with an atmosphere of hesitation, humiliation, and roguery, which well shows the rough history of Mexico. Yunluo's travels in the past few days have further deepened his understanding of the culture of this nation.

This series of street scenes was taken early one morning when I was traveling around the city. Since there were not many people in the early morning, this set of street scenes is very impressive. The previous series is relatively rubbish in comparison.

Actually, if you look closely, this relatively old city in Mexico is still very charming. It seems that everyone is very lazy and they don't open the door until the sun goes down. Did this brother sleep here all night? There are some photo exhibitions on the street, which mainly reflect the harmony between the police and the people. In a democratic country, government departments also have to advertise to improve their image.

Walking through the museum area of Mexico, the statues and introductions of the ancestors here are quite unique. After playing for a long time, the number of cars on the street began to increase, and the Mexican day began again.

In order to understand the life of Mexico, not just its tourism and history, Yunluo spent half a day walking into their free market and saw some interesting things. For example, Mexico still has street patrols on horseback.

Mexico is a country with a shortage of water. Bottled water is very expensive. Drinks like Orange Juice can be sold for 5 to 12 yuan per bottle, so the profit is considerable. Therefore, vendors always make the water displays very beautiful to attract buyers.

Even the pool was dry, there was indeed a shortage of water. The uniform of this guy in the hat was different from the previous two. The first two looked like policemen, but this one looked like an urban management officer.

Although there are urban management officers, pirated discs can be sold on the street. The copycat culture here is also thriving. There is a small gathering center in the free market. People gather here and seem to have some demands. Obviously, they intend to support a certain politician.

At the intersection on the other side of the city, there is a Mexican Statue of Liberty. It is said that this is a symbol of Mexico's overthrow of colonial rule and independence. The golden statue of the goddess sparkles in the sun, and it is a symbol of the Mexican people's freedom and democracy.

There was a parade going on under the statue of the goddess. There were a lot of tricycles decorated with colorful balloons in the parade, which were very beautiful. Yunluo didn't understand what they were asking for because he didn't know Spanish.

It can be felt that people are not shouting and screaming because of the parade. Everyone is moving forward lively and there is a somewhat cheerful atmosphere. In fact, a parade is sometimes just a party.

From a distance, Nalan Shiqi saw a statue about the legend of the founding of Mexico: an Indian tribe came to a place in Central America,

They saw an eagle standing on a cactus with a snake in its mouth, so the tribe settled down here. Thousands of years later, today's Mexico was established.

There aren't many good photos in this Mexico series, mainly because I had a short time and there were too many new things around me, so I took many snaps in a hurry without the patience to think about how to take more beautiful photos. Also, I was too careless in the handling of the aperture and shutter speed, and only used a shallow depth of field in some situations where a greater depth of field was needed. (To be continued...)
