Today, the model is completely tanned. Being a model means sacrifices, and it is a low probability event to take a good photo without any effort. In fact, after a day of sunburn, I was completely swollen. Peeling is nothing, the most fearful thing is redness, swelling and pain. Bougainvillea can be seen everywhere on the roadside in northern Thailand, but every time I go there, I always feel that this place is the most beautiful.
I couldn't help but stop the car and take a few photos. After showing off, let's go! Here's another post of yesterday's Pai County map. The area marked below is roughly the range of Yunluo and An Chuyu's activities for the day. County Town According to yesterday's route, Yunluo and An Chuyu first went to coffeeinlove and maripai. In other words, after leaving the hotel and getting on the main road, they headed north!
The yellow house of coffeeinlove is very eye-catching. Going from south to north along the road, the yellow house is on your right, not easy to miss. However, coffeeinlove and maripai are both facing east and west, so the morning sunlight is backlit. After taking a few photos, I had to leave in disappointment. This trip was just to check out the place.
Let's come back in the afternoon. Since it's still early and the sun isn't too hot, Yunluo and An Chuyu plan to head south after leaving Maripai, then head north after reaching the World War II Bridge, that is, go counterclockwise along the route marked in the above diagram, and finally return to Pai County for lunch. When they arrived at the World War II Bridge, it was almost noon.
The people were almost dried up. I met Captain Jack again by the World War II Bridge (actually, I saw Captain Jack in Pai County last night. He opened a postcard shop in the county to sell his postcards). The World War II Bridge was Captain Jack's base during the day, and he set up a camera to take photos with tourists.
Last night, Captain Jack said he wanted to take a photo with him and buy his postcard, so he picked one and bought it and took a photo with the captain. Unfortunately, the captain still had a sour face and ignored me when taking the photo. So I have no interest in him today. He is probably the most unfriendly person Yunluo and An Chuyu have met in Pai.
We left the Second World War Bridge and headed north from the east road back to the county town for dinner. On the way, about 10 minutes later, you can see the elephant training camp on the side of the road. Yunluo and An Chuyu didn't want to ride the elephants, but they liked to play with them. The trainers in the training camp were also very nice. When they saw Yunluo and An Chuyu, they stopped and wanted to play with the elephants.
He took the initiative to let the elephant perform for Yunluo and An Chuyu. Yunluo said that he wanted to touch the elephant's trunk, so the trainer asked Yunluo to stand and hug the elephant's trunk. As a result, the elephant actually rolled Yunluo up in the air, scaring Yunluo to scream. The white old couple next to them laughed so hard when they saw Yunluo being rolled up. They held up a DV and started to shoot a video.
The trainer said that this naughty kid was a girl and liked Yunluo very much. Before Yunluo could react, this kid rolled Yunluo up again. He repeatedly lifted Yunluo into the air many times, making the old white couple very happy. In order to thank her for letting Yunluo experience the pleasure of leaving her feet off the ground, she was rewarded with a bunch of bananas.
She quickly wiped it out in one second. The old couple was stunned. You see, although Yunluo and An Chuyu's fat man is not small in tonnage, the elephant girl can still roll him up, but it is a little laborious. From the elephant training camp to the county town, there are beautiful scenery all the way. But because it was too sunny and I was hungry, I went straight to the county town.
I will wait until I am full to see the scenery along the road. I learned from last night's lesson that I should not have too high expectations for Pai's food. So I was more cautious in choosing lunch. After a quick look, I found a restaurant with a large storefront in the center of the county town that had a constant flow of customers. That was it! The deliciousness index of a restaurant is determined by the flow of people.
It always works. Yunluo ordered a sandwich and a coconut smoothie. The recommendation index is definitely five stars! Mr. Pang ordered a pai fried rice, which is the best fried rice I have eaten in pai. No doubt about it. The fried chicken legs are also crispy and crunchy. Mr. Pang exclaimed oishiiiiiii. To sum up: anything with the word pai on the menu must be the specialty of this restaurant.
So I ordered it without hesitation. The above two items plus a bottle of beer only cost 270b. It's really cheap. During the meal, there were two persistent dogs in the restaurant, one looking at Mr. Fatty and the other looking at Yunluo, drooling the whole time. They wanted more even if they were given food. If they were not fed for a few minutes.
They will hit you with their paws. Tell you that it's time to give them something delicious. Although this meal is delicious, it is also very guilty. I always feel guilty for not feeding them completely. It's already past one o'clock after lunch. It's so hot in the mountain city at noon that you don't want to go anywhere. The two lazy guys hit it off - massage! They walked around.
I found a Thai massage school that not only teaches but also provides massage. Compared with Lila, I actually like this place more. The masseurs are very enthusiastic and will chat with you. The whole environment is very Japanese, simple and elegant. The massage room has a high roof, and the ceiling fan blows a small breeze slowly, and the temperature is neither hot nor cold.
Without the disturbance of air conditioning, everything was very natural. Mr. Fatty fell asleep after 10 minutes, and he would not wake up no matter how hard we massaged him. His masseur joked: Mr. Fatty can sleep until tomorrow morning, you can come back to him tomorrow. This massage is 180b/1.5h. After the massage, I felt lazy all over and didn't want to go anywhere.
I went out and found a small shop to order a mojito to cool down and chat. There is a cute little dog in this shop. The wifi code of this shop is: nofreewifi. The customer couldn't help but ask the boss to confirm: nofreewifi? The dogs in Pai have one thing in common - they are fat! No matter which dog they are from, no matter what breed they are.
They are all chubby. The waist of an adult dog is comparable to that of a human. This cute dog in this family is still stumbling when walking. He is carried to the chair, which is so cute. After drinking a little wine, it is estimated that it is past 4 o'clock, which is a good time to set off for Maripai. In March in northern Thailand, it is the season for burning wheat straw, in the empty fields and long valleys.
You can clearly see a layer of grayish white air covering the sky. Originally, they had imagined a scene of blue sky and white clouds, but who would have thought that Yunluo and An Chuyu did not see a single cloud during their week in northern Thailand.
This is also a big regret for Yunluo and An Chuyu on this trip, just like going to Tha Pae Gate many times but never seeing its true face. Before going to Pai, the picture below is Yunluo's first impression of Pai. Perhaps, this picture can represent Pai to a certain extent.
But now. I came to Pai Yunluo and realized that Pai is not just about the big tree swing and the small yellow house. Pai is a more inclusive place. It is a big gathering place for young people from all over the world, a source of inspiration for artists, and a must-visit place for gap years. Pai has been a popular tourist destination in northern Thailand in recent years, but the overall number of tourists is still not too large.
I came here at this prime time in the afternoon. There were only a few pretty girls in Maripai. The highest swing I have ever ridden was here. I jumped in front of the yellow house. After finishing work, I returned to Khon Kaen just in time for sunset. Then I left this photo of Yunluo and An Chuyu, my favorite. Sometimes, I want to take a group of photos on purpose.
However, you may encounter various problems or unsatisfactory results because you cannot find the mood or the light; but sometimes, an unintentional shutter may freeze your memory. Unintentional works may have more story support and memory playback. After taking a shower and changing clothes, I went to the county town! The first thing I did when I returned to the county town was to have milk tea!
I'm afraid that I'll leave too early tomorrow morning and the Queen will still be snoring. You must remember that it's the Queen in the picture below. How about the Queen? There is also an old lady's milk tea shop on the left side of the Queen's stall. The price is higher than the Queen's, but it's too sweet. I went to the wrong shop in the afternoon and had a cup. It really can't compare with the Queen's. Remember the Queen's signature milk tea bag!
For dinner, we still went to the busiest restaurant. Many of Pai's customers are from Europe and America, so the restaurant generally has Thai and American dishes. For Yunluo, what to eat is not so important, as long as there is milk tea, it's ok.
The happiest thing in Pai is to wake up in the morning to the sound of the rooster, which makes me feel like I am retiring to the countryside. I am going back to Chiang Mai this morning, so today's schedule is very loose. After breakfast, I begged Kim's father to take Yunluo and An Chuyu to the county town minibus station. Because I forgot to tell Kim and her father in advance the day before.
So it was inevitable that Kim's father was in a difficult position today. After Yunluo and An Chuyu begged him, he agreed to make a special trip for Yunluo and An Chuyu at 10am. At 10am+, Pai County was still early in the morning. The shops had just opened. Yunluo and An Chuyu were eagerly waiting for the milk tea queen to show up. It was a coincidence that they were talking to Mr. Fatty at the same time.
The milk tea queen went out to set up a stall. Yunluo rushed over to chat with the queen. She asked her to recommend a milk tea before Yunluo and An Chuyu left Pai. She recommended milk green and Yuanyang. Yunluo ordered Yuanyang, and the queen made it for Yunluo as soon as she finished packing up the stall. While drinking milk tea, Yunluo strolled to a small shop nearby and bought a wooden thermometer with loveinpai printed on it.
I don't know why, I didn't want these souvenirs that much when I was at the weekend market the day before yesterday, but today I am leaving and I am reluctant to leave. I want to buy something to put at home. In the days to come, I will think of this town as soon as I see it. Now this wooden thermometer is placed on Yunluo and An Chuyu's balcony to take care of Yunluo's succulents.
I'm glad I bought it. Every morning when I see this thermometer, it reminds me of the dream about Pai. On the way back, I learned from my mistakes and only took half a car sickness pill. So I was still awake all the way. I bought a big cup of strawberries at the rest stop. Pai's strawberries are small, and the bright red strawberries look fresh and natural. They are sour and sweet and quench your thirst on the road.
When Yunluo and An Chuyu were 30 minutes away from Chiang Mai, they contacted the manager of Baaningping Hotel in Chiang Mai again and asked her to inform the driver to pick up Yunluo and An Chuyu with their luggage. Everything went smoothly, and Yunluo and An Chuyu checked into the Vcsuanpaak Hotel with the yellow box that they had not seen for a few days.
It was almost 3pm. Although Yunluo and An Chuyu had only booked a hotel and not a more expensive apartment, the huge and tall room had already stunned them. And there was no problem of loud airplane noise as some people had mentioned. (On the one hand, it might be that the room Yunluo and An Chuyu stayed in was far from the airport.
On the other hand, Yunluo and Anchuyu both slept well) The service and decoration of VC are definitely not inferior to the previous usunsuri. If you look at the interior of the room, it is far better than U Hotel. I highly recommend you stay here when leaving Chiang Mai. It is close to the airport and convenient for shopping. I contacted the front desk to ask them to help contact the store that rents motorcycles, which takes 20 minutes.
Yunluo and An Chuyu opened their luggage and changed their clothes, and the car rental person had already arrived downstairs. They rented the car with their passports as collateral. Thinking back now, I still feel a little scared when I think about it, but I was ignorant and fearless at the time. Today's destination is [Chiang Mai University] - [Doi Suthep Doi Suthep Temple] - [Nimman Road] (all located northwest of Chiang Mai Old Town) [Chiang Mai University].
It is suitable for leisurely strolling on a cool day. People like Yunluo and An Chuyu who are in a hurry to go to Doi Suthep are destined not to be able to taste her taste. Yunluo and An Chuyu rode a motorcycle around the campus. The weather was too hot. They were in a hurry to go to Doi Suthep, so they almost didn't get off the motorcycle to stroll around. Under a big banyan tree at Chiang Mai University.
I like the projection of light and shadow between the leaves. [Doi Suthep Doi Suthep Temple] Yunluo and An Chuyu were very brave and rode their motorcycles directly up the mountain. The guide generally recommends taking a scooter up the mountain, but Yunluo and An Chuyu still prefer freedom, not to mention that they have already ridden the hairpin bends in Phuket, so they are not so worried about safety issues.
There is no mistake in the poem, post, content, and read the book on 6, 9, and bar!
If you are a girl who is not good at riding, safety is the first priority. Because Doi Suthep Temple is at the top of Doi Suthep, you have to climb all the way there and go downhill all the way back. If you don't control it well, you will still get into trouble. The best choice for girls is to ride a motorcycle on Doi Suthep Mountain after being roasted in the sun. It is definitely a pleasure to ride a motorcycle on Doi Suthep Mountain. The big trees cover the sky and it is very cool and pleasant.
The road from the foot of the mountain to Shuanglong Temple on the top of the mountain is very well built, with few potholes, which undoubtedly gave Yunluo and An Chuyu a reassurance. This road is a paradise for many bicycle and motorcycle enthusiasts. Many people who ride motorcycles whizzed past Yunluo and An Chuyu along the way. However, there are indeed not many tourists who ride motorcycles up the mountain by themselves.
Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is probably the most popular temple in Chiang Mai. I have never seen so many devout pilgrims in the temples in the ancient city of Chiang Mai. The golden setting sun shines on the golden temple, and the clouds in the photo can only be found in gold and blue. The magic of travel is that you can meet many predestined people along the way.
Greenburge, on the far right in the picture below, is a magical person I met on this trip. Yunluo and An Chuyu first met yesterday on the World War II Bridge in Pai. Greenburge helped Yunluo and An Chuyu take a group photo on the bridge, and Yunluo and An Chuyu also took a group photo of the three of them.
Coincidentally, the next day, that is, today, Yunluo and An Chuyu met again at Wat Phra That Doi Suthep in Chiang Mai. It was a quiet temple. Yunluo, An Chuyu and the other five couldn't help shouting at almost the same time. Greenburger's friend told Yunluo and An Chuyu that he was a famous photographer in NY.
No wonder he was at the Second World War Bridge yesterday. He also talked to Yunluo and An Chuyu about the machines in his hands, saying that Yunluo and An Chuyu's Invincible Rabbit was much newer than his 5d3. blablabla. Lotus has always been closely related to Buddhism. After going up the mountain, at the entrance of Shuanglong Temple, there is a place where you can pick lotus flowers by yourself to offer to the gods.
Yunluo and An Chuyu just sat on the steps, watching the sunlight on the roof getting lower and lower. It was getting more and more golden. After descending Suthep Mountain, they were not far from Nimmanhaemin Road. Because it was near Chiang Mai University, there were mostly college students on the roadside. It was even near Maya (a shopping mall newly opened in January 2014).
There is a night market of a considerable size. Those who are interested or live nearby can go and have a look. [Tong] We locked in the nearby Tong for dinner. It is highly recommended in many guides and is also quite influential in the local area. Yunluo and An Chuyu followed the map and asked the Thai girl to find this store.
But it turned out that it is not too difficult to find a restaurant with a good reputation, because you can find it by looking at the people waiting in line. In Thailand, it is rare to see a restaurant that requires waiting for a table, but here, a lot of Thai locals are waiting for a table, and the situation seems to have traveled back to the "Grandma's House" in Xihu City. Most of the diners around are Thais, and many of them seem to be regular customers.
The roasted pork neck here is recommended with five stars! A more fair evaluation is: this is a restaurant with night market prices. The restaurant is not small in size, but the price is very affordable. As for the taste, Yunluo and An Chuyu prefer the riversiderestaurant by the Ping River on Day6.
Tong's dishes, except for the roasted pork neck, are not particularly outstanding (I don't know if Yunluo and An Chuyu are not used to it or if it's not authentic enough). I saw a Thai review of this restaurant on tripadvisor, pointing out that the northern Thai dishes in this restaurant are not authentic enough, and can be called cheap, but definitely not good value.
If Yunluo were to choose again, she would choose to ride a motorcycle to Riverside, after all, the fish there is so delicious that it makes you cry. Tong is easy to find, there are a lot of people, there are a lot of diners queuing at the door, and there is a guy grilling pork neck. There are a lot of people, smoke and the fish is far inferior to that of RS. Of course, the price is less than half of RS. OK, while waiting for the meal.
Yunluo also went to the next street to buy mangotango. Although I don't like to join in the crowd, but with so many guides recommending it, I think it has a reason to exist. The price is not low, and the taste is not good. If you are passing by, you can try it. But there is no need to go there specially. After all, the environment and taste are soso.
Besides, there are so many unknown delicious places to choose from in Chiang Mai. So my personal recommendation is to eat wherever you go, without having to travel too far to find these popular restaurants. An unexpected surprise will give you more pleasure, right? (To be continued..)
