This is how the device works. The barrels generally correspond to four wine flavors, and there are steel plates on the barrel surface that detail the origin, aroma style, and number of the wine. In case you don't know French, if it is peach flavor, a peach pattern will be printed on it.

An Qingju and An Chuyu happened to encounter a wine tasting event in the village at the "German Headquarters" square in Mossault. Visitors can buy a wine glass at the visitor center and then choose the wine on this device. One wine glass can be used to taste 5 of these wines.

The visitor center was very thoughtful and put a lot of pictures on the wall to introduce the style of local wine, as well as the various descriptions of wine after adding spices.

Here is a tip for the correct wine tasting. I won't talk about how to smell and drink the wine, but the key is what to do after drinking it. When tasting wine, don't swallow it, but spit it directly into the small bucket prepared by the wine tasting team.

Of course, if you like the taste, no one will care if you swallow it; but if you swallow it after tasting many kinds of wine, believe me, An Chuyu, you will have no choice but to lie down next.

After walking around the small square and touring the village of Meursault, we still couldn't find the Universal Hotel in the movie. Seeing a dark cloud with gray rain bands coming up from Beaune, we knew it was going to rain, so we quickly stuffed some snacks into our stomachs and hid in the Meursault Church to avoid the rain. We went to the office to ask, and as soon as we entered the office, we could see books and photos of Louis de Funes, which showed that the movie was indeed filmed here. We went to ask the office staff in detail, and they understood as soon as they heard An Qingju and An Chuyu asked about the hotel in the movie (it seemed that they were very familiar with this movie).

It turns out that the exterior of the German headquarters in the movie was indeed shot here. But the interior was not filmed here (no wonder it looks different from the movie). The Globe Hotel is not actually in Meursault, but in Noyers-sur-Serein, 130 kilometers away, while the interior of the Globe Hotel was filmed in Paris.

Well, I won't worry about that anymore, I'll just focus on taking shelter from the rain. At first there were only a few people in the church, but soon many tourists like An Qingju and An Chuyu came in one after another; a heavy rain attracted everyone to the church to listen to the hymns. The church in the village is really convenient. The door is always open, you can take shelter from disasters or pray.

After riding for more than half an hour, the rain stopped. When I went out, I saw that the bicycle seat was soaked, so I had to take off the outer cushion and continue riding.

Unexpectedly, not long after riding to Volnay Village, another dark cloud came up. This time the church door was not open, and no one knew where to get in. An Qingju and An Chuyu simply stood under a big tree outside the church to avoid the rain. Looking back, hiding under a tree is probably only seen in movies. How can city people get to this point!

The big trees in the French countryside are lush and leafy. It was raining heavily outside, but standing under the lush trees, no rain could get in. The two of them ate a bag of melon seeds leisurely until the rain stopped and continued on their way.

The way here was all uphill, and 70% of the way back was downhill. I was so happy.

Later, we found that there were many places for locals to eat around the Madeleine Square where we parked our car. The French food should be good. An Qingju and An Chuyu found a restaurant next to the Madeleine Square to eat. There were many people in the restaurant, and there were basically no empty seats after 8 o'clock.

What to eat in Burgundy? Anyone who has read some travel books probably knows that the first is snails, and the second is the local beef stewed in red wine. Of course, you have to taste the red wine. An Qingju and An Chuyu, who don't know much about wine, just order dishes directly. Then ask the waiter to pair the wine that suits the dishes for An Qingju and An Chuyu. The wine they pair is quite suitable.

An Qingju ordered a steak this time. Wow, it was worthy of being for locals. The steak was bigger than the sole of a shoe, full of food, and tasted especially good. This was the appetizer for two people, snails and ham.

Now I know that snails are used as appetizers. French snails are baked. The snail meat is crushed with seasonings and stuffed back into the shell and baked. When eating, you need to use special tongs to pick it up from the baked dish, and then use a fork to pick out the meat and eat it.

It was the first time for An Chuyu to eat and she didn't know what to do, so she asked the waiter to demonstrate it to her. Ham was also a cold cut appetizer, just like the small pickled cucumbers, which tasted very similar to the Chinese braised meat. This was the main course for An Qingju and An Chuyu, red wine braised beef with mashed potatoes, and a grilled steak as big as a big shoe sole.

The beef stewed in red wine was naturally good, the beef was very soft and the red wine flavor was very strong. The steak was a pleasant surprise to An Qingju and An Chuyu, and what was even better was that the yellow mustard that went with the steak was simply delicious. It didn't have the sharpness of Beijing mustard, but only the freshness of mustard.

An Qingju and An Chuyu were both so unsophisticated. Later, An Qingju and An Chuyu learned that this was the famous French mustard, also known as Dijon mustard. Since it is directly called Dijon mustard, it is obviously a product of Burgundy.

There is a mustard factory in Beaune that has been around for hundreds of years. You should go and see it. You can buy this delicious yellow mustard in supermarkets. If you see this travel note, you can buy some.

An Qingju and An Chuyu also ordered desserts. In order to counteract the greasiness of the beef, the desserts recommended were mousse or pie with strawberries or raspberries, which had a slightly sour taste and just counteracted the greasiness of the beef. They were really good.

When they were at the hotel, the waiter reminded An Qingju and An Chuyu that they should not forget to visit the old town of Beaune after dark, where there was a light show. At the tourist information center, you can get a separate map of the light show, telling you where to see the light show. We walked less than half of the places where the show was performed in the city, and they were all very beautiful. It was easy to find the canal using the local guide map. There are cruise ships on the river! I didn't find the pier, but I saw cruise ships in the river. The bicycle path is close to the canal. This section of the bicycle path is very good, at least it is flat, and it is not too tiring to ride. Standing on the bridge and looking at the canal, you will know that this canal is really not wide, but it is surprisingly clean.
