Chapter 916: Loneliness is always with you

The height of the canyon and the huge angle at which the water flows form this wonderful panoramic view of Horseshoe Bend. The dark green river flows quietly and slowly in this atmosphere, which makes the picture more shocking.

The breathtaking scene of Horseshoe Bend lingered in Yunluo's mind for a long time, but today's other attraction, Antelope Canyon, was also a destination that Yunluo was looking forward to.

I remember when I was a child, there was a long orange scroll hanging horizontally in my parents' bedroom. The orange in the scroll was sometimes dark and sometimes bright, and the lines were sometimes upward and sometimes downward, just like a piece of silk hung by the soft wind, charmingly showing off its delicacy. Later, when I came to the United States, I learned that this was the Antelope Canyon in Arizona.

These lines and colors are the shapes of the rock walls in the canyon, so Yunluo is particularly looking forward to truly feeling this beautiful canyon. Returning north along Highway 89 from Horseshoe Bend, turn right onto Highway 98 not far away, and you can see the sign for Antelope Canyon after driving on this highway for a few minutes.

The Antelope Canyon is actually a crack between huge rocks, divided into the upper and lower parts. The Upper Antelope Canyon is famous for the beam of light that can be seen from the sun shining directly into the valley at noon. The Lower Antelope Canyon also attracts many tourists with its beauty. Yunluo even saw many travel notes saying that the Lower Antelope Canyon is actually much more spectacular than the Upper Antelope Canyon.

Yunluo had seen many photos of the light column before, and still felt that the Lower Antelope Canyon might be the one that Yunluo really liked, so Yunluo drove straight to it. But today, unfortunately, when we arrived at the entrance of the Lower Antelope Canyon, there was a big "closed" sign on the door.

The staff inside said that there was water inside the canyon due to a thunderstorm yesterday and it was not suitable for sightseeing, so they apologized and asked Yunluo to come back tomorrow to take a look. As a result, Yunluo had to return empty-handed.

It was already past noon, and the light column in the Upper Antelope Canyon had disappeared. Yunluo was a little tired from lack of sleep, so he simply gave up today's tour plan and went back to the hotel to sleep.

Yesterday I returned to Kanab and got some sleep to refresh myself and prepare to continue exploring the beauty of Page today. Fortunately, Yunluo arranged the itinerary of activities around Kanab relatively loosely, otherwise the closure of the Antelope Canyon would have ruined many plans.

Yunluo postponed the next trip to Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon Park to the afternoon and tomorrow. The Antelope Canyon, which he didn't visit yesterday, became the top priority today.

Before the Antelope Canyon, I have to talk about the Wave Valley lottery that disappointed Yun Luo. Yun Luo came to the Kanab Visitor Center on time at 9 o'clock today to participate in the lottery. Although there were a little fewer people today than yesterday, Yun Luo still missed the opportunity - one of the winning numbers was only one number different from Yun Luo!

So Wave Valley completely withdrew from Yunluo's itinerary for this trip, and Yunluo had no chance to visit it. This also gave Yunluo a reason to come to Kanab next time. In order to see this world-famous geological wonder, Yunluo will definitely come to draw again!

After coming out of the visitor center, Yunluo and Yan Chenyu went straight to the Antelope Canyon. Unfortunately, the Lower Antelope Canyon was still closed. But when Yunluo and Yan Chenyu left Page yesterday, they booked tickets for the 12 noon tour to the Upper Antelope Canyon, so at least Yunluo and Yan Chenyu still had the Upper Antelope Canyon to see.

The entire Antelope Canyon area is under the jurisdiction of the Indians, who have set up their own territory and collected entrance fees. They are ruthless and charge 40 US dollars per person for a one and a half hour tour, which makes Yunluo feel distressed. Moreover, all tourists must be brought in by a group, and one person cannot enter the Antelope Canyon by himself.

Many rules set by the Indians restricted Yunluo and Yan Chenyu's travel, but there was nothing they could do. When they were in someone else's territory, they had to follow their rules. In yesterday's travel notes, Yunluo mentioned that the light pillars in the Upper Antelope Canyon were the biggest selling point for tourists.

The so-called light pillar is the dazzling white light that shines directly into the canyon at noon. Only the tours departing at 11:00, 12:00, and 1:00 every day can catch the light pillar. It will be pitch dark in the afternoon, so most tourists who come to Antelope Canyon come at noon, and the long convoys squeeze the parking lot of Upper Antelope Canyon to the point of being full.

Yun Luo also waited in a long line before finally stopping the car and reporting to the small tent next to it. There were two dark-skinned Indian women in the small tent who were responsible for collecting entrance fees and gathering tourists.

At nearly 12 o'clock, the Indians arranged all the tourists into the back hoods of several modified off-road pickup trucks. Yunluo was lucky enough to be arranged to sit in the front row, side by side with the driver.

The pickup truck took Yunluo and Yan Chenyu through a muddy and bumpy dirt road and stopped in front of the Antelope Canyon. The Upper Antelope Canyon is actually a gap between two giant rocks. It is sometimes narrow and sometimes wide. When it is narrow, only one person can pass through. When it is wide, ten people can stand at the same time.

The entrance to the canyon is quite wide. Once you are in it, you will be instantly attracted by the patterns and colors on the surrounding stone walls. The canyon walls are like the color of dried orange peels, weathered but bright, spectacular but delicate.

This is a canyon carved out by wind and water. Any wrinkles on the stone walls are like footprints left by wind and water, reminding people of the long history of this canyon.

As they walked slowly into the canyon, the space became smaller and smaller, and there were more and more people. When they were almost in the middle of the canyon, they saw the so-called light column. The sunlight shone directly through a small hole at the top of the canyon, forming a white ray of light. In order for Yunluo and Yan Chenyu to better appreciate the light column, the Indian administrator inside specially prepared fine sand to be thrown into the air.

Let the sand reflect more sunlight, making the light column more obvious and brighter. But to be honest, Yunluo doesn't think this light column is as spectacular as the legend says. Instead, the bright and dim light that randomly sprinkles into the canyon is more charming and moving, illuminating the canyon in a looming way, and the color changes are more diverse. But then again, the Antelope Canyon is the most beautiful only when you can see the light column.

Once it is afternoon, when even the light pillars can no longer be seen, the rest of the canyon will be dark and lifeless. Therefore, even if you are not here to see the light pillars, or even if you are a little disappointed when you see them, visiting during this time is definitely a good choice.

Yunluo also carried a tripod when he entered the Antelope Canyon. Although the equipment was relatively simple, it was still no problem to take a few photos. Although the Antelope Canyon is narrow, there are many photographers with long guns and short distances. They can pay more money to stay in the canyon for a longer time and take pictures until they are satisfied.

Although Yunluo didn't have that much time, he still managed to take some photos that he thought were pretty good. The tourists inside were also very cooperative. When they saw someone taking photos, they would consciously make way for you, so the whole shooting order was not disrupted by the crowds of tourists, even though each photo required more than one second of exposure time.

Yunluo can also successfully complete the entire process from placing the tripod to ending the exposure every time. Sometimes he will get praise from the tourists behind him for the photos he took, which makes Yunluo feel happier.

The scenery in the Antelope Canyon is breathtaking, and the cool air makes Yunluo feel comfortable, without sweating and tired. Yunluo even ranked the Antelope Canyon as the first on the list of his favorite attractions so far. It is not tiring and has beautiful scenery, which is much more comfortable than hiking. Looking at the photos taken in the camera, Yunluo feels that the 40 yuan ticket just now was not wasted.

There is no mistake in the poem, post, content, and read the book on 6, 9, and bar!

After coming out of the Antelope Valley, Yunluo and Yan Chenyu prepared to go to Page Town to buy some food. After running around on the road for a few days, Yunluo and Yan Chenyu had already devoured all the fruit snacks they prepared before the trip. In addition, Yunluo and Yan Chenyu were already starving because they had not eaten lunch. Finding a convenient supermarket became Yunluo and Yan Chenyu's top priority.

Fortunately, Page, a small town that relies on tourism for survival, has relatively complete supporting facilities. There is a relatively large supermarket in the city center, and the food inside is also very fresh. Yunluo and Yan Chenyu bought some fruit snacks, a freshly baked chicken, some bread and thick soup, and ate them as lunch after returning to Kanab's hotel room.

And its location is very good, just behind the visitor center (where the Wave Valley lottery is held), and it is only a one-minute walk to the lottery, so if Yunluo has the opportunity to come back to draw lots, he will definitely stay here again.

After eating the roast chicken, there were still three or four hours before dark. Yunluo and Yan Chenyu didn't want to waste time, so they wanted to go to Zion National Park to check it out first. It takes about an hour to drive from Kanab to Zion National Park, along Highway 89 in the opposite direction of Page.

Zion National Park is actually a long canyon with mountains on both sides and gurgling streams in the canyon. After entering Zion National Park, although the winding mountain road is not easy to walk, the spectacular level is absolutely world-class.

On a hillside at a corner, Yunluo and Yan Chenyu also found many wild goats grazing leisurely. They all looked very strong and were not afraid of passers-by taking pictures. This was the first time Yunluo and Yan Chenyu saw large wild animals in this trip.

The visitor center of Zion National Park is not easy to find. If you are not careful, you will miss the sign. Yunluo and Yan Chenyu took many detours to find this visitor center hidden deep in the woods. When they found it, the sun was about to set and the visitor center was about to close.
