Chapter 929: Beautiful Girls Are So Delicate

It's funny, isn't it? But that's really how it feels. People often say that time waits for no one. Robin Williams also said in Dead Poets Society, "seize the day." Not only that, beautiful things sometimes wait for no one. If for some reason the Grand Prismatic Spring also "dies" tomorrow.

Yun Luo would be very glad that he had seen its beauty today. Didn't we hear that the White Temple in Thailand had also suffered an irreversible blow some time ago? And hasn't it been said that the Maldives will sink to the bottom of the sea in a few decades? Isn't the snow on Kilimanjaro also slowly melting? So, hurry up!

On the way back, I had to go back the same way I came. I left Yellowstone National Park from the west gate. I was reluctant to leave, so I drove for more than two hours at night to get to the inn in Idaho. The price/performance ratio was very high, so I booked two rooms. There was a hot tub for me to soak in comfortably. This was the first time I slept in a bed in Yunluo during my trip to the United States = =, I felt very happy!

Starting from Port Carlo, Highway 15 goes south to Salt Lake City. We first went to Antelope Island north of Salt Lake City, which is also a small national park on an island in the middle of a lake.

This is the best place to see the Great Salt Lake. There are few tourists along the long land bridge to the island. Looking north, the blue salt lake and the blue sky are almost integrated, and you can't even see the horizon. Looking at the hills on the peninsula from afar, the reflection of the lake is as beautiful as a painting.

If you walk along the road on the island, you can drive to a parking lot near the top of the mountain. A winding road stretches into the distance, giving you a feeling of being on the road. Mushrooms can't help but jump up to take pictures. Many sunflowers grow on such barren soil, becoming the biggest color in this desolate world.

The Great Salt Lake has a high salt content, 50 times that of seawater! Almost no organisms can survive, only some Artemia, and waterfowl such as pelicans and herons. There is a very unpleasant smell by the lake, a smell of decay. It is recommended to drive with internal circulation.

After leaving the island, we went to the nearby Walmart for a new round of shopping. Mushroom lost his keys here. He probably put them down on the shelf when he picked up something. Later, he went to the information center to check. The staff took out a drawer without saying a word. The drawer was full of car keys lost by various customers. Generally, you don’t have to worry about losing things in public places here.

If someone sees a child, they will definitely hand it over to the relevant personnel. If a child is lost in Walmart, don't worry. Once you tell Walmart, they will immediately block all exits and conduct a carpet search. If they can't find the child within 10 minutes, they will call the police immediately. This is the efficiency of the United States. I will mention an incident I heard in Horseshoe Bay later, which further reflects this point.

Before dusk, we went to the most famous Mormon Cathedral restaurant in Salt Lake City. I personally think it is not as grand as the Mormon Cathedral in Maryland, but after all, this is the headquarters, and it was built earlier, so people who come to Salt Lake City will definitely come here to worship. There is a circular pool in front of the main entrance, which can reflect a good angle.

Two rows of flowers are in full bloom on the central axis. They are all very ornamental flowers. Non-Mormons are not allowed to visit the interior of the church. There is an exhibition hall next to it where you can learn a little about the building and its history. There is also a cross-section model of the cathedral, which allows you to imagine the grandeur of the interior of the church.

The Taiwanese missionaries you meet here will talk to you enthusiastically. I heard that Mormons can marry four wives. Yunluo appreciates this!

We had dinner at a Chinese restaurant near the airport. It was actually a Taiwanese restaurant called Nini Restaurant. I finally had a decent meal of rice after so many days. I burst into tears. The sunset was especially beautiful, and there was a silhouette of a landing plane. We drove for more than an hour at night and arrived at Provo, a small town southeast of Salt Lake City.

There is also a swimming pool and a hot tub. Drinking beer while soaking in the hot tub is absolutely enjoyable. The last section of the road today is a continuous intercity highway with a lot of cars. Yunluo and Yan Chenyu took the carpool road. There will be a road marked with HOV, usually on the far left. If it says 2+, it means that there must be more than two people in the car to take this road.

The purpose is to encourage people to carpool. Yunluo and Yan Chenyu are four people in the car, and they can enjoy the benefits of this special road at any time, and the congestion is more obvious.

Bryce National Park is on the way from Salt Lake City to Page. This national park is not big, with only 5 or 6 observation decks. In fact, the truly beautiful and spectacular one is the other observation decks, which are actually quite similar.

Along the way, I began to see some red rocks and excitedly took a lot of photos. When I arrived in Bryce and saw the scenery in the picture above, I decisively deleted all the photos I had taken on the road =& We came out of the parking lot and started walking uphill in the woods according to the map.

The viewing platform is right in front of us, and the canyon is right in front of us! But because it is uphill, we can't see anything before we reach the cliff of the canyon. After walking the last three steps and standing on the edge of the cliff, the whole view of Bryce Canyon unfolds in front of us almost instantly. The stunning scenery that comes to us makes Yunluo shout "holy **!"

If there are clouds and sunset at this time, I believe it will be more charming. Bryce Canyon is a natural terracotta warrior. In the past, local indigenous people believed that these rock pillars all had red faces and believed that they were stones transformed from evil coyotes. There are also legends that they are local demons who were turned into stones by the wolf tribe and have stood in the canyon for thousands of years.

If you look closely at the stones, you can indeed see that some of them look like ferocious human faces. One difference between Western backpackers and Chinese travelers is that many Westerners will travel with their babies, while Chinese people will only take their children with them when they can at least walk.

In fact, even if the child cannot walk or talk yet, his curiosity about the world begins from the moment he opens his eyes after being born. Although the child is small, he will still enjoy traveling like this, hanging on his daddy's back or in his mommy's arms, and seeing the new world along the way.

The sun had completely set, and the colors of the canyon had become softer. After sunset, we drove on the night road to the small town of Kanab. Along the way, a motorhome was blocking the way and we were not driving fast.

The road was a single lane and overtaking was not allowed. The car saw that Yunluo and Yan Chenyu had been following for too long and found a temporary parking space nearby to let Yunluo and Yan Chenyu pass first. Americans are so loving when driving!

The trip to Horseshoe Bend, Antelope Canyon, Grand Canyon and Lake Powell, centered in Page Town, made this trip to the western national parks a complete success. Horseshoe Bend, which I have seen countless times in photos, was a great experience this time. I went there in person, enjoying the adrenaline rush while overlooking this masterpiece of the Creator.

We left Kanab a little late in the morning, because the best time to see Horseshoe Bend is at noon when the sun is directly shining on the valley floor (some say it is at sunset when the river reflects the rock wall), so when we passed Lake Powell, the azure blue water in the distance did not stop Yunluo and Yanchenyu, but headed straight for Horseshoe Bend.

Drive south along Highway 89 from the town of Page for about 5 minutes, and you will see a parking lot on the side of the road. If you observe carefully, you will find four crosses, some wreaths and flowers stuck in the land across the road from the parking lot. I heard that the fatal temptation of Horseshoe Bay takes the lives of some tourists every year.

There is no mistake in the poem, post, content, and read the book on 6, 9, and bar!

This is a purely natural attraction with no entrance fee. Walk about 1 kilometer west along a path in the desert from the parking lot and you will see the scene in the photo.

The Colorado River makes a 270-degree turn here, and the river channel is Ω-shaped, which looks like a horseshoe, hence the name. Friends who have been to Benzilan in Yunnan will definitely think that the shape of the first bend of the Jinsha River is very similar to this one. . You can't see the full view of the Horseshoe Bend, and you can only see half of the Horseshoe Bend from the girl's position.

If you want to overlook the panoramic view of Horseshoe Bay, you must get closer to the edge of the cliff. This is a river valley that is almost 300 meters deep, and its cliffs are almost vertical. Every year, some tourists fall off the cliff and die. Remember to be careful.

There are a lot of Chinese people at this attraction. A guy nearby had his legs go weak when he was 5 meters away from the cliff. He said that later his girlfriend forcibly pulled him to a position more than 1 meter away from the edge of the cliff to take a photo, and he cried.

It seems that he really has a serious fear of heights. Yunluo is actually afraid of heights, but this fear is also a temptation. To put it bluntly, it is no zuodie. Yunluo tries to get closer to the edge of the cliff again and again. He can feel the blood in his body tense and his heartbeat speeds up.

Even if you are standing far away in a safe place, you will still feel terrified when you see others walking to the edge of the cliff. Everyone has a fear of heights to some extent. Perhaps those who fall down are those who do not have a fear of heights. (To be continued...)
