The 1088th Festival always makes the schoolgirls fascinated

Believers would use portraits, sculptures, murals, etc. to portray their images, making the religion of ancient Egypt even richer, with numerous gods and various temples built to commemorate different gods.

Their pharaohs also called themselves the sons of God, which was similar to China in the feudal era. Only by calling themselves the Son of Heaven could the centralized rule be stable over a long period of time. Such huge cultural differences took turns to play out in Egypt. What an extraordinary land this was.

Cairo is indeed a traditional tourist city with few Oriental people. The hotel's breakfast is purely Western style, without any trace of Chinese food, which is different from the instant noodles I have seen in French hotels.

This place made Yunluo feel like she was in a foreign land. She really liked their sweet and sour pomegranate juice. During the past few days, Yunluo learned how to make hamburgers by hand, how to make lettuce taste better, and how to choose the right ham and bread... But Yunluo really couldn't fall in love with this kind of Western food...

Walking into Old Cairo, the quiet atmosphere is lined with quaint buildings on both sides, which actually gives you the feeling of strolling on Gulangyu Island. There are many exquisite small shops around the old houses, which are especially suitable for literary and artistic people to reminisce about the past years. The special oriental faces of Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo attracted the attention of many Egyptians along the way.

Both pedestrians and policemen greeted Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo with friendly smiles. This warm atmosphere made it difficult for Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo to associate the current Cairo with the previous violent conflicts.

The Christian Church in Old Cairo. Egypt was once a Christian country. Although it was short-lived, it still left its traces here. In fact, the rich and wonderful multicultural culture is a very precious treasure. I hope it can be passed on and continue in harmony.

Egypt was a Christian country for several hundred years after the decline of the ancient pharaonic religion and before the introduction of Islam. Alexandria was the center of power at that time.

It was also the only large city in the country. Later, Cairo was just a small port. Since the Pharaoh era, people only used it as a ferry. Later, the Romans built a fortress there, called "Babylon of Egypt".

The remains of the two circular Roman towers that served as the west gate of the castle were built by the Roman Emperor Trajan in 98 AD. Walking between the two towers is actually walking on the walls of that time.

Centuries of mud and rubble have raised the ground by 10 meters. Archaeological excavations at the base of the right tower have revealed traces of an ancient pier, and the round Greek Orthodox Church of St. George was built on the foundations of the left tower.

The rare domed Orthodox church - St. George's Church. Due to time constraints, Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo did not go inside to visit. It is said that this is to commemorate George, a Christian martyr in ancient Palestine. Under the reflection of the morning sun, it looks very solemn.

The Cathedral of the Virgin Mary (also known as the Hanging Church) is located in Cairo, the Coptic District. The Cathedral of the Virgin Mary is called the Hanging Church because it was built on the south gate of the former city wall, not really suspended in the air. The Hanging Church is probably the most beautiful of all the churches here.

The snow-white tower and beautiful cross against the blue sky exude the holiness and brilliance unique to a Christian church. In the sun, the plants in the church's flowerbeds seem to have an incredible glow. It is very touching.

When I entered the Hanging Church, my mood instantly calmed down. There were few tourists in the morning. The steps in front of the church seemed like the stairs to heaven. As I climbed up, my heart was filled with holiness and beautiful wishes.

Arabs love all kinds of exquisite patterns, and this awareness of advocating exquisite beauty has spread to Christian churches. This should be the most fancy Christian church Yunluo has ever seen. The black altar tables and chairs, ivory-inlaid screens, and marble pulpits inside the church are all carefully made items. Each room in the church has its own characteristics. It is full of exotic style.

The mystery of the Arab world is linked to Christianity, which seems to have some unspeakable meaning. Cultural integration is not impossible. We also hope that these Christian relics can be well preserved for future generations to appreciate.

In fact, there were many places on this trip that broke Yunluo's inherent ideas. These inscriptions written in Arabic made it difficult for people to associate them with Christianity.

In a world where Islam prevails, Christianity can also exist safely. Existence is value. Perhaps Arab Muslims are not as demonized as they are in the eyes of Europeans and Americans. Judging from their enthusiasm for Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo and their protection of the church, they are not really extremely exclusive. Many things can only be rethought from a different perspective if you see them with your own eyes and hear them with your own ears.

The small shop selling handicrafts has a unique shape, but the owner is nowhere to be found. These should be purely local handicrafts, as well as some Christian-related souvenirs.

The typical residential style of Egypt, Yunluo found that many households had decorations similar to Chinese lanterns hanging on their balconies, and the clothes hung out to dry were neatly arranged small vests (probably their underwear?) and exquisite carpets. Occasionally peeking into the private lives of Egyptians could satisfy Yunluo's gossipy nature.

Roofs are also built in Egypt. But whether it is illegal is unknown. In fact, there is a saying about the unfinished buildings on the streets: Egyptians are very far-sighted in building houses. They build their own houses first.

Then they had to leave a way out for their descendants. The unfinished house meant that they could continue to build it when their sons and grandsons grew up. So the house was continuously built up, but it still looked like it was not finished.

Those on the wall appear to be bird nests. It seems that although the birds are similar, the bird nests in different cultures and countries are still very different.

After leaving the Christian area, we walked a few steps to the Amr bin As Mosque, the oldest mosque in Egypt, famous for its many pillars. Simon Yam carefully introduced the cultural characteristics of Islam to Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo here, and also demonstrated the whole process of prayer. Authentic Egyptian Muslims pray five times a day.

Shouting "Allah is greatest" 15 times is the same as "Long live Allah" by Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo. Prayer is the only way to communicate with the true God Allah in person. Here, God is not only the supreme ruler of the world, but also a mentor and friend. The power of Islam is indeed great.

Women can enter the mosque, but they must wear green robes. I finally understood why the tour guide at Sugong Pagoda said that this is the only mosque that allows women to enter and exit freely. Traditional Islam is quite conservative, and it has very strict requirements especially for women. Their hair and body cannot be exposed when they go out.

Only her husband and family can see her true face under the robe. The Koran allows male Muslims to have four wives, but they must treat each other fairly, regardless of age. Before marriage, they must promise how much they will pay if they abandon their wives, and they must obtain the consent of their previous wives before marrying their next wife.

Although many people can no longer accept polygamy, Yunluo thinks that compared with the feudal era in China where women had many wives and concubines, the regulations of Islam are still very reliable. In an era when there are obviously fewer men than women, this at least protects the rights and interests of women to a certain extent. Even compared with our current marriage law that almost bullies women, it can be said to be more considerate of women.

The main structures of mosques are similar, but they all have different shapes. Each mosque is a work of art. This is attributed to the rich imagination and artistic creativity of the people of the Western Regions. They not only integrate complex designs into simple architectural styles, but also vividly portray religious culture without any idolatry.

There is no mistake in the poem, post, content, and read the book on 6, 9, and bar!

The mosque is very large and everyone must take off their shoes before entering. The interior is very clean and the carpet is covered with small windows. The tops of the windows are all facing the direction of the holy city of Mecca. When the chandeliers above are lit at the same time, it is like a sky full of stars. One can imagine that on every important day, devout Muslims kneel here to pray.

The shelves are filled with various versions of the Koran. Arabic is a very special language. Yunluo especially admires people who know Arabic and can arrange and combine these twisted graphics. Not only can they read them and understand their meanings, but they can also write them out fluently. It's really super difficult!

Yunluo, who was used to Chinese characters and letters, could not distinguish these crooked shapes at all. When they came to Egypt, Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo became completely illiterate. Even the numbers here were in Arabic. They could not recognize the prices in the supermarket. Fortunately, they learned to recognize the Arabic numbers 0-9 (not Arabic numerals) from the corresponding license plates, which was a big gain.

In the streets of Cairo, you can often see long lines tied to street lamps or electric poles with many cloth strips hanging on them. I wonder if they are used for blessing? For making wishes? For protection? Or for other purposes? Many things are more beautiful in imagination without having to delve into them.

After leaving the mosque and changing out of their robes, the gatekeeper asked Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo to donate money. These donations were up to their own wishes and there was no need to force them. Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo went to visit the famous Egyptian Museum next. Only after going there did they really understand what "ancient" and "extensive" meant.

The carvings that can be found at hand are artifacts from thousands of years ago. Almost all the exhibits have "bc" (BC) marked on the date plates, proving that they are at least 2,000 years old. Facing ancient Egypt head-on, this is a true time travel.

The Egyptian Museum was designed and built in 1863 in Phrae, north of Cairo, by Mariette, a famous French archaeologist who was called the "Father of the Egyptian Museum" by the Egyptians.

The current Egyptian Museum is a rebuilt building, which contains many priceless historical and cultural treasures. In addition to the main building, the sculptures outside are all genuine ancient Egyptian artifacts. Only one of the treasures on display is a fake, and the rest are all genuine items with thousands of years of history. (To be continued...)
