Gan Tang looked at Su Xun deeply once again, her eyes regaining their usual coldness, though the corners of her eyes were a little red. The person who was usually aloof and cold like a snow lotus seemed to have been tainted by the mortal world.
"You like Pei Ke."
Su Xun was taken aback by Gan Tang's direct words and was stunned for a moment. Only then did he realize that her words had exploded at his feet like a landmine.
How did Gan Tang find out? She had already covered it up very well.
As if knowing what Su Xun was thinking, she said, "You don't think nobody knows, do you? The two of you have a very good relationship; everyone in the class can tell."
"And your eyes tell me that everyone's guesses are not unfounded."
"So what?" Su Xun asked blankly, staring at the empty tissue wrapper on the table.
Gan Tang leaned forward slightly. "Do you know why I was so sad just now?"
Su Xun didn't understand why the topic had shifted to Gan Tang again, and shook his head.
“Zhang Jixin, who was just now, told me that he actually liked me at first, but because I was so distant from him that year, he thought I hated him, so he gave up on liking me.”
"You feel regretful too, right? But things just don't go as planned." After saying this, Gan Tang gave a self-deprecating laugh.
“I can see that your relationship with Pei Ke isn’t one-sided. I don’t know what happened between you two that led to this situation where you’re ignoring each other, but I don’t want any more regrets to happen to me.”
"That's why I wanted to tell you all this earlier."
Teenage emotions are like the wind; you never know when or what it will come from. The grass and trees around you rustle in the wind, and your naive self feels like it's been through a storm. You'll be panicked, afraid, and bewildered. While you're standing there, struggling with your feelings, that wind may have already left without you noticing, heading to another place.
After Su Xun returned home, Gan Tang's words kept echoing in her ears.
He likes you.
"Don't be like me, worrying so much, only to regret it after you've lost it."
I don't want you to have any regrets.
...
I don't want you to have any regrets later.
Her mind was in turmoil; those words were like a curse, constantly swirling around her, leaving her nowhere to hide or escape.
Pei Ke said that she always thinks too much and has too many concerns. Before doing something, she always considers the worst possible outcome, as if that's the only way to avoid disappointment. But this leads to the loss of many things.
When she graduated from elementary school, Pei Ke told her to look forward to the future and not to always be afraid of the unknown outcome.
She did it then, so when did she revert to this?
If you keep all these things hidden in your heart because you're afraid of rejection or embarrassment, then you're truly a coward who hates yourself.
She didn't want what she was looking forward to to become a regret, slowly fading into a vague memory years later.
No matter what the outcome, we should at least give it a try, shouldn't we?
Besides, don't you already know that the other person has feelings for you? Knowing Pei Ke's feelings for you, it would be very unfair not to tell her your thoughts.
Thinking like this makes me feel much better.
The knot in her heart finally dissipated, replaced by excitement and anticipation. Her heart was pounding, and she didn't care what the outcome was.
That night, she tossed and turned, unable to sleep, thinking about many things, and finally made a decision in her heart.
