Chapter 137

Tokyo, Japan

"Tomorrow's winter break will be tomorrow's winter break, and my teaching will be tomorrow..."

A thin layer of snow had already covered the outside, a pristine white expanse. On the podium, a middle-aged teacher in a brown suit was giving instructions, outlining the holiday arrangements.

......

"Pei Ke, wait for me." A Chinese girl in a light-colored coat followed behind, jogging to catch up with the man walking briskly ahead.

The tall, imposing man paused in his tracks in the snow, turning around to look at the source of the sound.

"Christmas is in a couple of days, do you have any plans?" Lin Nuoyu followed, brushing her slightly messy chestnut hair back, and puffs of white steam rose as she spoke.

"I haven't made any arrangements yet, but I don't plan to go out." Pei Ke said calmly, politely declining, his expression indifferent, like the cold snow on a branch.

"If there's nothing else, I'll be going now." He nodded to the person, then turned and left.

All that remained was Lin Nuoyu, who was still standing there in a daze, and a series of footprints under her feet.

She angrily clenched her bag and stomped her foot hard, grinding the fine white snow into the air.

After hearing from Duan Zian that Pei Ke had received an offer from Keio University, Lin Nuoyu also submitted her application to the school. She had two undergraduate degrees, English and Law, and her GPA was very high every semester. Her second foreign language was Japanese, and she obtained the Japanese Language Proficiency Test N2 certificate early on. It would not be difficult for her to apply to Keio's graduate school of law.

Although Pei Ke was admitted through a special program while she applied herself, the two still ended up together.

She thought that since they had come to Japan together, being in a foreign country, they would definitely be closer than others, but Pei Ke had stayed here for a year before and had familiar teachers and classmates who completely ignored her.

From September until now, Pei Ke has spoken to her only a handful of times, which has given Lin Nuoyu, who has always been a pampered princess, a deep sense of frustration once again.

Am I really that unattractive to Pei Ke?

When I got back to the small apartment, it started to snow lightly.

Pei Ke stopped at the doorway, patted the remaining snowflakes off his shoulders, and his hands became slightly damp.

A few days ago, Tokyo had its first snowfall of the year, and the whole city became romantic, enveloped in a white blanket. I still remember how excited Su Xun was when we first saw the snow.

I confessed my feelings to the person I liked on the day of the first snow, and we'll be together forever.

He's been busy with his final paper these past few days, working day and night, and hasn't been able to contact Su Xun, who's still in S City.

He wondered if it had snowed in S City this year. He drew back the curtains, and scattered white snowflakes drifted onto the windowsill, like glistening piles of salt, shimmering with light.

Some ideas suddenly flashed through my mind.

Pei Ke took a cloth bag from the cabinet and took out his DSLR camera, which he hadn't used in a long time. It was three o'clock in the afternoon, still early, and he wanted to take pictures of the snow in Tokyo to show Su Xun the scenery he had seen.

Just as she was about to leave, she suddenly remembered that she hadn't had time to look for Su Xun these past few days, and that the man hadn't taken the initiative to contact her either, which made her secretly unhappy.

Su Xun ignored him; he'd just take her photos tomorrow.

He then put the camera down, walked over to the small sofa next to him, sat down, and took out his phone.

There were several unread messages on the notification bar, and my heart started to race slightly. I couldn't wait to tap on them.

"Pei Ke, Pei Ke, it's been so long since we talked. Have you missed me? I know I have."

"This winter is especially cold, but it just won't snow. It's so frustrating! I wonder how it is where you are?"

"By the way, do you have any plans for Christmas Day?"

The earliest message was sent at 2 PM, when Pei Ke was still in class and didn't receive a reply. Su Xun sent several more messages, but he didn't check his phone and didn't receive them.

Looking at the text on his phone screen, he couldn't help but smile, and his eyes shone brightly.

He was asking the same question as Lin Nuoyu earlier, but he was still happy.

"No plans for now, I'll probably be reading in my apartment." He wasn't particularly enthusiastic about holidays. Back in S City, he would celebrate with Su Xun, but here, he treated every holiday, big or small, like any other ordinary day.

"Okay," the other party replied.

......

Pei Ke gripped his phone tightly. Since she said she missed him, he might as well go take pictures of the snow scene now so she could see them sooner.
