Chapter Seventy-Eight

The more he thought about it, the angrier he became. He grabbed his phone and rushed to the balcony, tugging at the person who was staring blankly into the distance with his left hand.

"See for yourself, I don't want to deal with you anymore." It's true what they say, the emperor isn't worried, but the eunuch is.

Pshaw, pshaw, pshaw, what eunuch?

Suddenly bumped hard on the arm, Pei Ke turned around and glared at the indignant person in front of him.

What's wrong with this person now?

The phone's light was particularly strong in the dim light. He squinted, enduring the intense discomfort, and glanced at the content. The contact name "Su Xun" quickly caught his attention.

Then she spoke softly, "What is this? How did you get her WeChat?"

Even I don't have one.

The voice remained indignant: "You have the nerve to ask? If you hadn't refused the cake, would I be here chatting with her?"

“Actually, you could have given me her WeChat from the beginning.” He raised an eyebrow and crossed his arms.

"Damn, why didn't I think of that? What am I worrying about for nothing?" After saying that, she shoved the phone into Pei Ke's arms. "Clean up your own mess."

Xiang Yang was only wearing a thin short-sleeved shirt. He shivered from the cool breeze. After saying that, he rubbed his arms and went inside.

Pei Ke glanced at the phone, its screen still lit up, the chat history remaining from just a few minutes ago.

What I could see was, "But aren't you overinterpreting the relationship between me and Pei Ke?"

His gaze remained unwavering, exceptionally deep in the darkness, as if merging into the boundless night.

He tapped his finger to open his profile, stared at his WeChat name for a long time, and finally turned off his phone.

The last glimmer of light vanished, and a silent sigh filled the air.

After sending that message, Su Xun received no reply, so he turned off his phone and strode forward.

I opened the dormitory door and instinctively scanned the entire space to make sure there was only one person inside.

"Why are you the only one here? Where are Zhou Qin and Liu Wei?"

She walked a little further inside and asked Wen Yanyan, who was staring at the computer screen.

"Weiwei has a gathering with the anime club today, she'll be back later. Zhou Qin went to the library to study." She didn't even turn her head, continuing to click the mouse with her right hand.

The quietness of the day struck her as somewhat unusual.

Su Xun immediately became curious, "What are you doing, so seriously?"

Speaking of this, she suddenly turned around and said, "Speaking of this makes me angry."

Because of the excessive movement, the chair was pulled off course and made a screeching sound as it rubbed against the floor.

Su Xun was startled by the shrill "sizzle" sound. "What's wrong? Who made you angry?"

"It's all because of my idiot minister. I've never seen such an irresponsible minister. Didn't I join the External Relations Department of the Student Union? The Student Union is going to hold a big event next month, and our department is responsible for getting sponsorships."

Because of her intense emotions, Wen Yanyan's face was flushed, and her dissatisfaction was almost palpable.

"Yesterday's meeting said that we would have a training session for the new members this afternoon. Today, a few of us waited for the minister to come in the hot sun at the entrance of the South Gate Snack Street. We waited for almost an hour but he didn't show up. Then he sent a message saying that he forgot that there was a class this afternoon and told us to go back on our own."

"How can there be such a person?"

Because of her indignation, Wen Yanyan spoke very quickly. Su Xun moved closer and roughly learned what she had just said.

"Hmm, that sounds annoying, but what does it have to do with these things on your computer?" Su Xun pointed to the screen in front of her, which displayed several photos of shops.

“The matter wasn’t over yet. After we got back, he sent several more files in the group, saying that they were introductions and contact information for all the businesses near the school, and asked us to filter them one by one and select the businesses that fit the theme of this event.”

"There are at least several hundred businesses near the school. I compared and selected them one by one, and my eyes were almost blinded."

Su Xun glanced at the screen; it seemed there were quite a few.

"Aren't there several new members? Wouldn't it be faster to assign them among a few people?"

"The key point is that the heartless minister singled me out and told me that such a simple matter didn't need to be made a big fuss."

"That's strange. I have a feeling you're being targeted." Su Xun pondered for a moment, then slowly asked, "Yan Yan, do you have some kind of grudge against that minister?"

"That's another story." She said this somewhat reluctantly, her voice gradually lowering.

Su Xun took in Wen Yanyan's subtle expression and smiled, "Let me help you look at it."

After helping people filter all the shops, it was already past nine o'clock at night. The other two people in the dormitory had also returned to the dormitory and were washing up on the balcony.

She stretched her neck, which had been still for a long time, and then stretched her arms upwards in place before sitting back down in her chair.

I opened my phone, which I hadn't had time to check, and there were already dozens of unread messages on it.

She clicked on it and saw it was a message from the tourism association group.

The president sent a notification at 8 o'clock, and now there's a long string of "Received, thank you" messages below. She directly clicked the +1 button before slowly scrolling up the messages.

Since the start of the semester, the class group chat has been flooded with messages from all members every day, and you have to reply to them below.

Once, she read a notification but forgot to reply "received" below, and the assistant even messaged her privately, asking why she didn't read the group message.

It was only then that she learned that the support team would also keep track of those who didn't reply; it was quite an eye-opener for her.
