Chapter Seventy-Seven

She suppressed a smile and said softly, "I didn't cry just now, but since you're his roommate, I'll leave this cake to you."

She handed the cake to the man, saying, "Thank you so much, you're such a kind person."

Then he walked away.

Xiang Yang took the pink box and watched her leave.

She said she didn't cry, but her voice was trembling with anger. She must have left in such a hurry because she didn't want anyone to see her.

Once Su Xun had walked a distance away, he finally couldn't help but burst out laughing.

That guy was really funny. Pei Ke had been his roommate for over a year, how did he manage not to laugh?

Xiang Yang freed one hand to swipe open the door and looked inside. "Everyone's here."

A boy wearing a blue short-sleeved shirt, who was near the door, glanced at the entrance and his eyes lit up. "Xiang Yang, why did you bring back such a girly box today?"

"Move your hand aside, this isn't for you." He slapped away the hand that was reaching for the cake, then looked at Pei Ke sitting inside.

"Pei Ke, you should thank me properly this time. You just left her there for no reason, and that junior girl was so sad that she cried." He said as he walked in and gently placed the cake box on Pei Ke's desk.

"But I'm a kind-hearted brother, so I cleaned up your mess and brought the cake back for you."

A box was suddenly placed in front of the seated person. He turned his head and said, "Take this away."

Xiang Yang smirked, "Alright, alright, stop putting on this act in front of me. If you keep being so reserved, the girl will run away. I know you're actually quite happy about it, so I brought her back for you."

"It's so noisy, take it away." He picked up the pink item on the table and stuffed the top bow into the hands of the noisy person in front of him.

"Really? Then you'll regret it if I take it." Then he turned his feet and walked to his own table.

The two roommates next to them, who had just overheard the conversation, were practically bursting with curiosity.

"What's going on?"

"What kind of junior could make Pei Ke feel so reserved?"

Xiang Yang deliberately shouted, "Come on, everyone, come and eat the cake. Let's divide this cake among ourselves today."

Then he reached out and tugged at the white ribbon, while stealing glances at the person next to him.

There was absolutely no response. How boring.

He opened the box, lifted the lid, and something popped out.

It was a pale yellow sticky note attached to the top of the box with tape. Xiang Yang glanced at the person next to him who was staring blankly, and quietly tore the sticky note off and secretly stuffed it into his pants pocket.

The two roommates smelled the sweet creamy aroma the moment the box was opened, dropped their phones, and came over.

"I haven't had dinner yet, give me a piece first."

"Go away, you have such a big appetite, you should be last. Xiang Yang, ignore him."

Xiang Yang looked at his two roommates, who seemed possessed by hungry wolves, and moved away in disgust. He walked to the side, reached into his pants, and pulled out the crumpled piece of paper.

A few neat characters came into view: "I'd like to talk to you." Followed by a string of numbers in the style of a telephone number.

He raised an eyebrow and took out his phone.

It's so noisy.

He had never noticed before how noisy everyone in the dorm was; his head was buzzing.

He grabbed his phone and walked onto the balcony.

The wind outside finally brought him to his senses for a moment; the day was finally going to get cooler.

Did you cry?

He clenched his fists in frustration, his brows furrowed, a sense of unease rising within him.

What is she thinking now? Why did she come to give him something out of the blue, especially something that could easily cause misunderstandings?

Although the process was a bit beyond expectations, the cake was delivered. I just hope Pei Ke won't throw the box away so quickly, or at least check the lid.

She left a note inside with her contact information on it.

She really wanted to have a serious talk with him about her leaving without saying goodbye back then and some other things.

However, judging from the two meetings, the other party probably didn't want to talk to her, which is why she came up with this idea.

He'll probably add her after he sees the note.

Just then, her phone vibrated for a moment. She quickly swiped to open it and saw that someone had requested to add her as a friend.

Without thinking too much, she clicked "agree" and sent a greeting emoji.

The other party replied immediately, "Junior, I'm Pei Ke's roommate, Xiang Yang."

Who is Xiang Yang?

She sent a question mark directly, "?"

"Pei Ke is usually very shy and refused to accept the cake, but I can guarantee that he likes you."

Upon seeing those familiar words, she remembered that it was the same person from earlier.

"Hello, senior, but aren't you overinterpreting the relationship between me and Pei Ke?"

Thinking of how this person repeatedly defended Pei Ke, she felt like a matchmaker she'd seen on TV, always afraid of upsetting either side.

Xiang Yang glanced at the message he had just received, then saw the figure hidden in the darkness on the balcony, and instantly flew into a rage.

"Pei Ke, you still have the mind to admire the moon? Your girlfriend is about to be gone." He's really meddling in other people's business. He's helping someone keep their girl calm, while the person in question acts all nonchalant and unconcerned.
