Chapter Seventy-Seven

Under the shade of a tree, a figure stood, looking slightly uneasy.

She looked around nervously, paying particular attention to everyone coming out of the teaching building in front of her.

Because it was her first time doing this, her palms, which were tightly gripping the white ribbon, were a little sweaty and sticky, but she now ignored the slightly uncomfortable feeling of sweat.

She wanted to find Pei Ke, but the last time they met was not a pleasant encounter, so she decided to send him something first to find out what was going on.

She remembered that Pei Ke bought a lot of snacks at the convenience store that night. Although she didn't know when he had developed a liking for these things, she just needed to cater to his tastes now.

Buying those snacks at the supermarket was too shabby, so she decided to buy him a cake. To show her sincerity, she went to a bakery outside the school and learned how to make it from the owner. Although the appearance wasn't very satisfactory, it was still acceptable.

Before she came, she made a point of inquiring about Pei Ke. Wen Yanyan had a wide network of connections, so she could find out the information with just a casual question.

She only just realized how famous Pei Ke was at this school.

However, he had always been a popular figure at school, so he was only surprised for a moment.

It's 5:40 PM now, the end of the last class of the afternoon. Wen Yanyan somehow got hold of their class's timetable, so she knows they're having an Introduction to Japan class right now.

She arrived twenty minutes early and waited under the tree in front of the Japanese Department building. It was then that she learned that the Japanese Department building was opposite their courtyard, separated only by a small garden.

The bell had already rung to signal the end of get out of class, and people were coming out of the teaching building in twos and threes with their bags. But she had forgotten to wear her glasses today, and the tree she was standing on was still three to five meters away from the teaching building, so her vision was blurry.

Seeing that most people had left and there were far fewer people around, she became a little anxious and had no choice but to walk towards the entrance of the teaching building.

Could the person have already passed away?

As I approached the glass door, I saw the automatic doors open to both sides, and two figures walked out one after the other.

The one in front was clearly the figure he was looking for.

Seeing that the person was about to leave, she steeled herself and took a few steps forward, saying, "Wait."

Before the other person could speak, the person following behind exclaimed with delight, "It's you!"

Su Xun glanced at the person who had spoken earlier, making sure he didn't recognize them, then smiled amicably before looking at the person in front of him.

The other person stopped in their tracks and stared at her intently when she called out to him.

Suddenly at a loss for words, she couldn't recall a single phrase she had rehearsed countless times in her mind. Unconsciously, she pinched the hem of her skirt with her free hand.

"Um, it's been a long time."

The person in front of him looked away, saying indifferently, "I just saw him last week."

"Last week? That was quite a while ago, haha." The last meeting made her feel awkward.

Remembering her purpose for today, she quickly held up the pink box she was carrying in her left hand between the two of them, her tone very unnatural, "This is for you."

The box was a light pink color, wrapped with several rolls of white ribbon, and tied with a large bow on top.

At the time, this was the only type of box left in the store, and she hadn't thought much of it at first. But now, she felt a strong sense of incongruity between the box and the person in front of her.

Pei Ke glanced at the carefully packaged box in front of him, and a hint of malice flashed in his eyes as if he had thought of something.

"You delivered it to the wrong person."

He then strode away.

Standing to the side for a long time, Xiang Yang looked left and right, his face filled with shock, as if he had seen something unbelievable.

What's going on with these two?

Why would a young lady give Pei Ke a gift?

Could it be?

Last time, Pei Ke fell in love at first sight after seeing the girl's photo. He was heartbroken for a while after finding out she had a boyfriend, so he went to steal her away? And then the girl couldn't resist the allure of the school heartthrob's good looks and came to deliver something to him?

Within two minutes, he immediately envisioned a melodramatic story in his mind: a pretty junior falling in love with a handsome senior and then abandoning her original boyfriend.

If that's the case, why did Pei Ke pretend to be indifferent just now?

Could it be that Pei Ke is just pretending to be reserved?

A series of clichéd romance novel plots flashed through his mind. He shook his head violently to clear his mind of those chaotic thoughts and looked at Su Xun, who was still standing in the same spot.

Seeing the girl in front of him with her head down, looking like she was about to cry, he quickly said, "Hey, junior, Pei Ke is just a little shy. He was so happy when you gave him the gift that he almost jumped for joy. Give me the gift and I'll pass it on to him."

My roommate, who's been a stoic tree for ages, has finally blossomed. It's normal for him to be a little reserved, but it would be a real shame if he drove her away because of it.

As a good roommate and good brother, he had to lend a hand.

Su Xun was still pondering the meaning of the phrase "sent to the wrong person" when her fingertips suddenly tightened, pinching the soft ribbon into several wrinkles.

What do you mean by "given to the wrong person"? Did she intend to give it to someone else? How could she not know that herself?

Seeing the junior girl in front of him still looking down with a wronged expression, he became anxious. "Junior, don't cry. He really likes the gift you gave him. I've slept with him for a year, and I can tell what he's thinking. So it's definitely not that he hates you. Give it to me, and I promise I'll deliver it to him."

Su Xun glanced strangely at the people next to him, who were saying some astonishing things.

He slept for a year?

Is there something wrong with it?
