Chapter 40

Chapter 40

The three arrived at the Lan residence and saw Su Mu standing alone at the entrance from afar.

We're leaving.

Su Mu looked at Jing Tao and Dongfang Jin, who had finished packing, and patted Dongfang Jin on the shoulder, saying, "You need to take good care of Jing Tao."

Of course.

Dongfang Jin took Jing Tao's hand and prepared to leave, but found Jing Tao standing motionless at the door.

"What's wrong?" Dongfang Jin asked softly.

Jing Tao carried her bundle and headed straight for the Lan residence.

The demon hunter at the entrance immediately drew his sword to stop them.

Jing Tao put down the package and started fighting with the two men.

The three were shocked by the scene, and Dongfang Jin put down her package to help Jing Tao.

"Jing Tao, what are you doing?" Su Mu didn't understand. They had finally gotten here, so why did they suddenly start fighting?

Hearing the commotion, the demon hunters rushed out of the mansion one by one.

Jing Tao and Dongfang Jin fought back and forth with the demon hunters.

At this moment, an imposing demon hunter emerged from the mansion. "Who dares to cause trouble here?"

Jing Tao swiftly knocked down an exorcist with a backhand slap and looked at the man.

But the man suddenly opened his eyes wide and walked towards Jing Tao.

He excitedly hugged Jing Tao, exclaiming, "Junior Sister! It really is you! You're back!"

"Junior Sister?" the three exclaimed in unison.

"Stop it, all of you!" the man commanded, and the demon hunters immediately put away their weapons.

The man bowed to the three of them. "My name is Cheng Feng. I am a disciple of Senior Lan Jueming. Jing Tao is also a disciple; she is our youngest junior sister."

The three looked at each other in bewilderment.

"Someone, go and inform Miss Qingtang that Jing Tao has returned."

"yes"

"Please follow me, everyone."

Chengfeng picked up Jingtao's package and led everyone into the mansion.

The three were shocked and followed Cheng Feng inside.

The Lan residence, though not as luxurious as the Dongfang family's, exudes a sense of tranquility.

"Jing Tao is actually Senior Lan's disciple?" Su Mu was still in shock.

"Shh, keep your voice down," Honeysuckle quickly reminded him.

Chengfeng led everyone to the small hall.

"Everyone, please rest here for a while and wait for me."

Before he could finish speaking, a woman rushed in from outside the door.

"Tao Tao!"

Upon hearing the familiar voice, Jing Tao immediately stood up and walked towards the person.

The moment the woman saw Jing Tao, she jumped over and hugged her.

Jing Tao caught the woman steadily.

"Tao Tao, let me see her quickly!" The woman cupped Jing Tao's chubby face and looked at it from left to right.

"You've lost so much weight! Did you suffer a lot while you were out there?"

As the woman spoke, tears welled up in her eyes.

"Tao Tao, are you hungry? Do you want something to eat?"

"Alright," Chengfeng pulled the woman over. "Let your junior sister catch her breath first. She can't answer you anyway. Why don't you ask her companions what happened along the way?"

"Oh right," the woman finally realized.

She introduced herself to everyone, "Everyone, my name is Qing Tang, and I am Jing Tao's mother."

"What?" The three looked at the young woman in front of them, who appeared to be in her early twenties.

Cheng Feng sighed and chuckled, rubbing his forehead. "You really are incredibly resourceful."

"Mind your own business," Qing Tang replied coquettishly to Cheng Feng, then sat down.

“I picked up Jing Tao from a stream five years ago. I saw her lying on the bank covered in blood and rescued her and brought her to my house. Later, we encountered a monster in the deep mountains. Jing Tao was seriously injured while protecting me. She was later rescued by Cheng Feng, and the two of us stayed at the Lan residence until last year when Mr. Lan wanted Jing Tao to go out and gain experience. By the way, what happened to Jing Tao outside?”

Honeysuckle recounts their first meeting with Thorn Peach.

"Hahaha, Jing Tao is still the same. When her path was blocked, she actually climbed up the cliff." Cheng Feng couldn't help but laugh.

Jing Tao seemed to understand something, walked to Cheng Feng's side, and punched him in a vital spot.

Cheng Feng casually caught it and then secretly exerted force, saying, "Not bad, you've gotten quite a bit stronger. Looks like I'll have to let you go out and train more often in the future."

Cheng Feng pressed Jing Tao's hand down and patted her head. "Do you want to eat something?"

Jing Tao blinked twice.

Cheng Feng pressed Jing Tao's head down, forcing her to nod. "Since you've begged me, I'll go and prepare it for you now."

Cheng Feng dashed out in a flash, while Jing Tao glared fiercely in the direction he left.

Little did they know, one man was clenching his fist, veins bulging.
