0037 Taking Care (Bonus Chapter with 400 Pearls)
Jiang Jifan was doing her skincare routine in front of the vanity mirror when he came over and knocked on the door.
He must have brought the hairdryer. She glanced down at her flawless chest, recalled the embarrassing moment just now, took a deep breath, and stood up.
She opened the door and saw that he was holding a black hair dryer.
Jiang Jifan reached out and took it, saying thank you to him.
"I'll drive you to work tomorrow," he said. "You should get some rest tonight."
Then he leaned in and kissed her cheek, a faint smile playing on his lips, "Goodnight."
After saying goodnight to him, Jiang Jifan closed the door, put the hairdryer on the dressing table, sat down in front of the mirror, and vaguely saw her smiling face in the mirror.
Looking back on the time they spent together, she couldn't help but feel that having a good relationship really does make people happy.
The next day at work, Jiang Jifan got up early and went out of his bedroom to find that he was making breakfast.
Standing in front of the kitchen counter, Tantai Qing turned around upon hearing the voice. Seeing it was her, her eyes curved slightly. "You're up?"
She nodded.
"I didn't think you'd get up this early." He placed the sandwiches he had made on the table. "Have breakfast first, then we'll go out together later."
Jiang Jifan sat down in the chair, glanced at the sandwiches on the table, and said bluntly, "It's a bit amazing that you can make breakfast."
Tantai Qing chuckled upon hearing this and poured her a glass of milk. "When I was studying abroad, I often cooked for myself."
Having lived in China for over a decade, his palate had become quite discerning. When he first arrived abroad, he found the local food very difficult to adjust to. Aside from occasionally dining out at Chinese restaurants, he tried cooking for himself most of the time.
Practice makes perfect. After spending a few years there, Tantai Qing's culinary skills can be considered quite mature.
However, after returning to China, he rarely cooked, and mostly ate what his aunt cooked.
Jiang Jifan was surprised and said mischievously, "It seems your cooking skills are better than mine."
The food she cooks is only so-so, and she doesn't have high demands for food; she's content with just enough to fill her stomach.
The sandwich in her hand was quite large. She glanced at it, pondering how she could eat it elegantly in front of him, but ultimately decided against it.
Remembering her freshly applied makeup, she figured it would smudge if she ate normally, so she asked him for two knives and forks.
Jiang Jifan cut the sandwich into small pieces and put them in his mouth. After chewing a few times, he reached out and covered his mouth with the food in it, saying, "It tastes pretty good."
Tantai Qing was well aware of his culinary skills, and upon hearing her praise, he smiled and said, "If you like, I can cook for you every day."
Jiang Jifan shook his head after hearing this, "That would take too much time."
She would try to sleep a little longer if she had the time.
Noticing a little sauce on her lips, she stopped holding her knife and fork and went to get a napkin to wipe her mouth, but he beat her to it.
Tantai Qing had already noticed the ketchup residue on the corner of her mouth, so before she could do anything, he took a tissue and reached out to gently wipe it off for her.
He was always so gentle and considerate. Jiang Jifan licked her lips and smiled at him, saying, "You always take such good care of me. Sometimes it makes me feel like I can't take care of myself."
Tantai Qing threw the tissue in his hand into the trash can, rested his chin on his folded hands, looked at her with a gentle smile in his eyes, and said, "I like taking care of you."
Jiang Jifan immediately decided that after finishing breakfast and rinsing her mouth, she would kiss him.
So in the end, the two of them kissed in the entryway before leaving the house.
"Let me get off here," she suddenly said when they were still a few meters away from the company.
Tantai Qing was a little confused and asked her why. She only heard her say, "The people in our company are very gossipy."
His car was too eye-catching, and she didn't want to become the subject of gossip again.
Tantai Qingming nodded and then parked by the roadside.
"Be careful on the road." Jiang Jifan waved to him after getting out of the car.
Tantai Qing gazed at her tenderly for a few moments before finally turning the steering wheel and driving away.
"Sister Jiang, why are you in such a good mood today?" The familiar receptionist teased her as she entered the company.
Jiang Jifan didn't hesitate and replied with a smile, "My boyfriend brought me here."
The receptionist immediately started to jeer, and the jeers only stopped when the receptionist intervened.
During her free time, Jiang Jifan told the landlord about what had happened yesterday and suggested that she have someone fix the motion-activated lights in the hallway as soon as possible.
The landlord was quite responsible; after finding out, he immediately said he would check the community's surveillance footage and reply to her before the afternoon.
Jiang Jifan waited, and in the afternoon she indeed sent her several surveillance photos, saying, "I asked the police, and they said that if you haven't been physically harmed, they can't do anything about it for the time being."
Then she said that the community already knew about it, and that the security team would increase patrols in the future. She also told her to be careful after get off work and to let her know if there were any problems.
Although he had already guessed the outcome, Jiang Jifan was still very disappointed.
There's nothing she can do; there are just too many bad people in this world. She can only comfort herself by saying that.
