Nan Xian was surprised. She looked at the trap and then at He Mingxiao. "You did this?"

He Mingxiao grunted in agreement and deftly snapped the rabbit's neck.

The rabbit, which had been struggling just a second ago, immediately went still.

Upon hearing the "crack" of bones breaking, Nan Xian instantly got goosebumps and subconsciously touched her neck.

She silently recited "spicy rabbit head, stir-fried rabbit pieces, barbecued rabbit legs" several times before daring to take the rabbit from He Mingxiao's hand and continue walking forward.

The two carried the rabbit and some wild fruit back to the cave.

He Mingxiao built a makeshift stove out of stones, piled up the dry leaves to be used as tinder, and moved it into the sunlight.

Just as Nan Xian was about to ask how to start a fire without any fire starter materials, she saw him take out his glasses, put a drop of water on the lens, and create a simple convex lens.

However, perhaps the temperature was not high enough, and the dead leaves failed to ignite for a long time.

He was already sweating profusely, beads of sweat dripping down his nose, hitting the ground, splitting in two, and then quickly evaporating.

When Nan Xian looked up and saw this scene, she pursed her lips, quickly ran into the woods, and soon returned with several large palm leaves.

She wove their leaves together to form a sun hat-like shape, holding the stems up to shield He Mingxiao's head.

He was taken aback, turned to look at her, and smiled, "Thank you."

Nan Xian avoided his gaze. "It's just mutual help, no need to thank me... But why are you so skilled at making traps and starting fires?"

He Mingxiao remained silent for a moment, his gaze fixed intently on the withered leaves.

Nan Xian waited a long time for his reply, then said awkwardly, "Never mind, if you don't want to say, then—"

“I was very thin and weak before I was sixteen, and I was often bullied... In order to improve my physical fitness, I participated in military-level wilderness survival training.” He Mingxiao slowly exhaled and said softly.
