Chapter 62 Can You Not Leave?

Nan Xian was awakened by the heat.

She felt as if she were tightly enveloped by a ball of flame, and the ever-increasing temperature made her feel uncomfortable all over, while her hands and feet were bound by something and she could not move.

The thing was incredibly strong, and it kept breathing hot air onto her neck, making it both itchy and burning.

Nan Xian was in great pain. She struggled for a while in a half-dream state but could not escape. In a moment of panic, she bent her knees slightly and took a step forward.

"Uh-huh—"

A low groan sounded in her ear, and she instantly woke up as if she had been slapped.

Open your eyes, lower your head, and focus your gaze—

He Mingxiao wrapped his arms around her waist, his hands pressed against her back, and clung to her like a koala, fast asleep.

From her angle, she could see the whorl of hair on the top of his head.

Strangely enough, He Mingxiao was a cold and ruthless man, yet his hair was unusually soft.

Without his meticulously styled hair when he's working, his hair falls naturally and loosely, shimmering with a golden light in the sunlight, reminding Nan Xian of a kitten squinting and purring on the balcony in the afternoon.

He Mingxiao's body was burning hot; she knew he must have a fever without even touching his forehead.

She tried to get out of his arms, but as soon as she moved, He Mingxiao trembled as if startled, tightened his arms, and almost pressed her into his embrace.

"Don't......"

Nan Xian was caught off guard and almost thought her ribs were about to break, nearly fainting.

She gritted her teeth in pain, thinking to herself, "Just wait until you're better, I'll teach you a lesson!" She sighed and patiently coaxed him, "He Mingxiao, let go first, I'll go call the doctor..."

Before he could finish speaking, he muttered something else.

Nan Xian leaned closer to him, "What did you say?"

He Mingxiao tilted his head, revealing his flushed face.

A thin layer of sweat covered his forehead, a few strands of hair were damp and stuck messily to his skin, and his thick eyebrows were tightly furrowed, making him look extremely uncomfortable.

His voice was very soft, muffled and hoarse, and it took Nanxian a long time to understand what he was saying.

"Could you please not leave...?"

Please...

She gazed at his face, which appeared somewhat vulnerable due to his illness, pursed her lips, and her eyes flickered.
