Chapter 15
Lin Yu put down his phone; it was already late at night outside the window.
Yue Qianwen fell asleep beside him.
It was just past midnight, and Yue Qianwen hadn't gone anywhere that night. Lin Yu had even forcibly confiscated his phone. All night, Yue Qianwen had watched game livestreams with him and played Overcooked. As they played, they ended up sticking together. It's unclear whether Yue Qianwen put his hand on Lin Yu's waist first, or Lin Yu put his leg on Yue Qianwen's leg first, but they ended up entwined like that.
They did everything intimately, except for not taking their pants off.
When Yue Qianwen lowered his hand, Lin Yu subconsciously blocked it, then silently withdrew it. But Yue Qianwen didn't touch it; he just rubbed Lin Yu's side and quickly put it back on the pillow.
The kiss was very deep.
Lin Yu still feels a slight sourness at the back of his tongue.
If this is what it means to be a straight man, Lin Yu himself doesn't believe it anymore and can't bring himself to say it.
Because he really wanted to kiss her again.
Even though Yue Qianwen was lying next to him, his phone under his pillow, he still felt that Yue Qianwen would leave. He didn't know anything about Yue Qianwen's family background, his past, why he returned to China alone, why he was always silent, why he liked tall, thin boys... He didn't know how to understand.
He wanted to forge a deeper connection with Yue Qianwen.
He carefully turned over, leaned in, and kissed Yue Qianwen on the lips.
The feeling of initiating a kiss is quite different from being kissed.
Yue Qianwen's lips were dry, but soft, and he kissed them again.
Afterwards, he got out of bed, rummaged through his bag for his earphones, opened the blog Yue Qianwen had mentioned, and randomly picked a topic to listen to—financial news analysis. He couldn't understand it; it was very soporific. But in the complete silence, listening to the host's steady voice, it was as if he could glimpse a corner of Yue Qianwen's world through the glass.
We seem to be on different wavelengths.
Yue Qianwen woke up in the middle of the night to find no one beside him.
He sat up abruptly, his heart skipped a beat, but thankfully he turned his head and saw a faint light in the living room.
He opened the door and saw Lin Yu curled up in the corner of the sofa, fast asleep with his head tilted back, his Bluetooth earphones lying to the side, and his phone screen lit up with his blog channel page.
He chuckled and walked over.
Just as I was about to pick Lin Yu up in my arms, I heard him mutter in his sleep: "I don't understand... What should I do? Yue Qianwen, I'm so vulgar..."
Yue Qianwen looked at him quietly.
Using his finger, I tapped the screen and saw in the memo: US stock circuit breaker mechanism, after-hours trading, S&P 500 index.
Then Lin Yu muttered, "I've never been good at counting money since I was little, and I wasn't very good at politics either..."
Yue Qianwen thought of the karaoke bar from six months ago.
That day, Lin Yu suddenly sat on his lap. Neither of them reacted. Lin Yu turned his head and stared blankly at him. He also stared at Lin Yu quietly until a colleague next to him sang a high note, which woke Lin Yu up. He then hurriedly got up.
She stood up but tripped over the corner of the table. In her haste and confusion, she went to the left first, but there was nowhere to sit. So she had to hold onto Yue Qianwen's knees and squeeze into the empty seat on the right. As she passed by, a section of her fair waist was exposed and swayed in front of Yue Qianwen.
When it was over, Yue Qianwen parked his car on the side of the road and watched from afar as Lin Yu and his colleague of similar age got into a taxi.
I really wanted to pull him into the car then.
The car doors were locked and the windows were closed.
They trapped him in a small space.
Lin Yu's naivety, recklessness, and innocence easily aroused Yue Qianwen's previously unnoticed desire for control and aggression.
Later, he got closer, and there were many opportunities, many times when they were alone together and the air was thick with ambiguity, but he didn't make a move.
He waited and stayed by her side.
Today seems to have yielded an unexpected result.
He carried Lin Yu back to the bedroom, let Lin Yu rest his head on his arm, held him in his arms, took out his phone and looked at Lin Yu's new posts, and couldn't help but smile.
