Fu Shiqin put his arm around Qin Lu's shoulder and patted him, interrupting what he was about to say.
"It's getting late, let's go."
Qin Lu glanced resentfully at the girl sitting next to Fu Hanzheng, his hands clenched into fists at his sides.
If this man were anyone else, he could have won him back, but this man happened to be Fu Hanzheng, someone he could only look up to in his entire life.
Fu Shiqin practically dragged him out the door, and once outside, he muttered to himself, still shaken.
"You scared me to death! I thought you two were really having an affair."
"Weiwei likes me!" Qin Lu solemnly declared.
She had always liked him, but for some reason, she suddenly stopped liking him.
After she was discharged from the hospital following her car accident, he kept looking for her, but he couldn't find her even after searching almost the entire capital city.
He never imagined that she would live in the Fu family home, and even live with Fu Hanzheng.
"Alright, whether she liked you before or you liked him, your little flame of puppy love has been extinguished." Fu Shiqin patted the heartbroken boy sympathetically and encouraged him, "Study hard, you'll have a better girlfriend in college."
A while ago, this guy called him and asked him to help him find someone.
However, because he was busy with the cooperation project with Wilson Company, he said he would talk about it after the Fu Group signed the contract with Wilson.
Unexpectedly, the person he was looking for was Mu Weiwei.
Regardless of what happened between him and Mu Weiwei in the past, he knew his brother too well; once he set his sights on someone, he would never let go.
"I only want Mu Weiwei!" Qin Lu said resolutely.
Fu Shiqin tapped him on the head, "Why are you so disobedient? Have you forgotten your promise to the family that you wouldn't date too early? Do you want me to tell your dad and grandpa?"
Qin Lu silently got into the car and gave instructions to the driver.
"drive."
The boy looked out the car window at the lights of the apartment building, a determined look of certainty shining in his clear eyes.
When Fu Shiqin returned to the apartment, Gu Weiwei was doing her homework alone in the living room, while Fu Hanzheng had already gone back to his study to continue his meeting.
Fu Shiqin had finally finished the project proposal and was about to shut down his computer and go back to his room for a good night's sleep when Fu Hanzheng, who had just finished a meeting, pointed to a stack of documents on the table.
"Take these over and read them. Then report the key points to me."
"Isn't that what you wanted to see?" Fu Shiqin protested with a mournful face.
Fu Hanzheng ignored his protest, got up and went to the living room. He looked at the girl who was lying on the coffee table staring at the math test paper with a bitter expression, and called out to her gently.
"Bring the homework in."
Gu Weiwei was overjoyed, as if she had seen a savior, and obediently took the test paper and homework book and followed him to the study.
Fu Shiqin was so angry he wanted to cry when he saw Gu Weiwei come in. It turned out that his brother had dumped a bunch of work on him just so he could have time to tutor her.
Fu Hanzheng took the test paper, looked at the questions she had circled that needed explanation, and explained the key points, problem-solving strategies, and mathematical formulas required.
Then, he asked, "Can I make it myself now?"
Gu Weiwei nodded, picked up her pen, and buried herself in solving the problem, while Fu Hanzheng continued reading the documents.
After she finished, Fu Hanzheng put down the documents in his hand, looked at them, and then used a pen to mark the places where she had made mistakes. He then patiently and gently explained to her.
"This step is wrong; it should be like this."
Gu Weiwei nodded and did it again herself. "Is this right?"
Fu Hanzheng chuckled approvingly and continued explaining the next question to her.
Looking at his older brother's gentle and tender manner, Fu Shiqin angrily packed up his documents, preparing to leave this inhumane scene of public displays of affection.
"Where are you going?" Fu Hanzheng glanced at him.
"Cherish life, stay away from dog food."
After finishing his speech, Fu Shiqin took the documents and went to the living room alone to work overtime in a lonely and desolate atmosphere.
