Aragon had his eyes fixed on Theon who was about to reach into the portal, his leg making the move to to walk in when the wind suddenly picked up, changing direction. The familiar wrecking feeling of imminent danger and excitement skyrocketed, and Aragon could feel all of his hair standing up just by the presence of that particular person who had shown up out of nowhere.
Aragon should have picked up his presence if he’s been here all this while, meaning he must have learnt to properly hide his aura even from Aragon himself who could sense even the tiniest of things. And you could see the clear shock written all over Aragon’s face as he stared at the man, making him slightly pause in reaching Theon in time.
Aragon didn’t reach Theon, but the other person did. The Ebony skinned guy suddenly grabbed Theon by the neck, and next thing he had hauled him very hard onto a tree. Aragon could see drops of blood flying in the air with that motion, and Theon groaned loudly as his back had been completely shattered by that unforseen attack.
Aragon turned around to see them behind him, with Theon slumped down on the floor, and the ebony man towering over him, reeking with power as blood dripped down from his nails. None of them said a word to each other, but there was this territorial and electrifying feeling that sparked in the way, way heavier than the one that occurs whenever Aragon and Zoan cross paths.
Rhwy ebony man just stood there, unmoving for a while. Aragon’s eyes had turned into a wild infernal burn, and his fists tightened into the toughest of balls that made every muscle and vein of his body pop out proudly. The most death-filled look ravaged his eyes as he looked at the man’s back who’s long red hair was dancing with the wind. The figure of his back was sturdy and rigid, like a man unfazed by nothing in this world.
He was just as tall as Aragon, and his Scarlet red hair was something to behold, glittering even in the darkness of the night.
Slowly and stealthily, The red head glanced behind him to look at Aragon who was still fixated on the man. His hair was especially full and they had covered the most of the color shimmering in his eyes, but you could just see a Yellowish glow coming from between the strands. His dry lips slowly stretched a bit dubious, revealing a smirk that formed on his lips.
"Don’t glare too hard, You’ll only hurt yourself," The man spoke with that rugged voice of his, right before he disapeared again. Aragon didn’t take his eyes away from the spot for a while, almost forgetting that there was someone whom could hardly breathe and needed immediately attention. It’s been so long since he last saw that man, and Aragon didn’t want to believe that he had anything to do with all that was going on around them.
Knowing him, he’s the type that watches everything from the sidelines.
After getting a hold of himself again and bringing himself into a little bit of control again, Aragon walked up to Theon whom had now fallen unconscious. There was a little dried blood on the tree, but then Aragon noticed something else about Theon.
He looked... ordinary again. There were five nail-like piercings around his neck, with small amounts of blood running out of it where the red head had choked him a while ago. But then, Aragon couldn’t quite explain what he was seeing right now. All signs that Theon was once a Vampire had vanished, and he had now been turned back to a human. It was truly shocking because Aragon didn’t know there was a way to turn a vampire back to a human...and so easily for that matter.
A dangerous look appeared on his face as he squatted next to Theon to take a better look at him. How could there have been a way to change a vampire back to human and he hasn’t heard anything about it? And how did the redhead learn about it? Was that the reason why he smirked earlier? To taunt him?
Aragon let out an annoyed sigh. He needn’t turn around to look at the portal because he knew the arrival of the redhead was enough distraction for Ren to rush back into the portal and close it. But there would be a next time, and Aragon would make sure it doesn’t slips him by. For now though, he might have to keep an eye on Theon after he wakes up and see if there’s another time he would come looking for Ren to talk to.
Grabbing Prince Theon, he threw the man over his shoulders and headed back to the palace. Aragon’s dark look hadn’t vanished completely because the conversation Theon just had with the vampire had explained some things to him about the Prince and Raziah. The tone he had used while referring to her had been vile, and the fact that they didn’t say a word to each other during the dinner says a lot of things.
The most obvious one was that they’re not in good terms, and Theon is trying to get back at her for whatever happened between them.
No-one saw them when or how they entered the palace, and Aragon had dropped Theon on his bed. The injury on his head and.back when he had been knocked into the tree had been healed by the process of turning back into human, and Aragon guessed those erratic breaths he was making was the process kicking into his system. Though the piercings around his neck Weren’t healing as fast as they should, but it’s still up to Theon himself to cover them up when he wakes up.
As he walked by to the room he was given, He walked past Raziah’s room. He thought she would be asleep by now and then he would change his mind about sleeping alone and creep into bed with her as he usually does, but instead he heard faint footsteps moving around the room. Seems like she was moving about up and down, which was a new thing because she was the type that sat down in one place if she wanted to read or do anything.
The footsteps were incredibly faint, and that was when he caught the sound of a light hum coming from inside the room. He stopped completely to stare at her door, wondering how he should approach her. Normally, he should be able to hear everything very clearly but her hum and foosteps were incredibly low, as if she was particularly doing it so no being like him would hear her.
He placed his ear on her door to listen more to whatever she was humming, and after a minute so...it started to sound familiar to him. Unable to help himself, he reached out for the doorknob and turned it softly, making sure he made no sound as he gently pushed the door slightly open, just open to see what was going on inside.
And now that the door was open, her hum was much more louder.
She Never danced alone while she was at Erandell, and now he knew why. She never deemed it safe enough for her to ever feel free enough to move around without a care, but now that she was back in Naria which had more breathing space for a person like her, her feet felt much more lighter and he watched her dance.
She twirled and danced with the same steps she used during the royal presentation, humming the same song she sang under her breath. For the first time since he had taken her hand and married her, he noticed how much the cold in her eyes had subsided so much he almost couldn’t believe it, and she looked as almost free as a bird.
Her steps said a lot, and her body language spoke to him. They were hypnotizing and said so much things words could never describe. He saw a trapped woman, a woman who’s always struggling with terrible pain, a woman struggling to keep herself sane all the time, finally letting it all out here.
Feeling free.
Aragon’s body shook badly at the realization that knocked him hard. He knew bringing her to Naria would greatly reduced the tension that filled her mind, but this woman always had ways to make something tug badly inside his chest. He didn’t know she had been missing this feeling this much.
It had skipped his mind before, but now it was back. He recalled while they had danced together during her presentation on the night of her introduction. She had revealed to him three things that hid beneath her cold eyes. He had seen pain, fear and one last thing that had bittered his heart.
He saw lurking madness. Insanity creeping in.
He saw a woman that was trapped inside a house, sitting right in the middle of the house with her body curled into a firm ball.
That was the exact moment he knew she had chosen him, but she also knew she was gonna regret it big time. He knew she had understood how big of a mistake she had made.
