Silently, His Majesty followed closely behind him without being noticed. Aragon made sure his presence couldn’t be perceived anymore by anyone as he had also sucked back most of his aura, keeping it swirling inside of him instead. He had his sights on the second son of King Octavius whom was carefully moving in the darkness of the night, heading somewhere Aragon was about to find out.
He knew Prince Theon had been up to something when he had been on his way, out of Raziah’s bedroom, seeking for somewhere to rest his head when he saw the Prince suspiciously leaving the palace, passing through the guards efficiently and now walking down the forest part, moving through the trees.
Theon stepped into a small open field just in the middle of the forest. Even though it was open, the rays of the moonlight could hardly reach there so it was still too dark to see anything with the naked eye. Aragon made no sound at all with his feet, and stood behind a tree watching the man whom was now looking around to confirm that he hadn’t been followed.
"You asked me to meet you here, where are you?!" Prince Theon asked in the darkness, but there was no movement. Aragon pressed himself closer to the three, making sure his five senses would instantly feel another’s presence...if there was one.
"No one told me he would be like that! What is now the use of..." He paused when a darkness of hanging energy began rotating a few feet away from him in the feet, sips of dark purplish sparks emitting from it as it grew bigger and bigger. Aragon instantly recognized that it was an opening Portal, and watched closely when someone emerged from it. It was an average Vampire, though the person looked familiar and it took another second for Aragon to recognize the face. It was one of the most notorious vampires that still lived, a descendant of one of the strongest bloodlines of vampires straight from the Vampire King himself.
Everyone knew him as Ren, the same Vampire Malcolm had reported to have fought with the other day.
"You never told me he was gonna be like that!" Theon lashed out ferociously, glaring at Ren who had a sick look on his face. At first glance, it looks like he’s drunk but it’s just his normal face. He took another disgusting lick of his wounded arm that has refused to heal all this while.
"Did you actually think you can compete with Aragon Odysseus?" Ren let out a mad laugh, shaking his head at Theon, "Here’s some advice from me. Don’t overstep your boundaries, or you’ll get burned till there’s not an ash of you remaining. You were only asked to confuse and make Raziah turn into an even worse version of herself, that’s what the master wants!"
"And I clearly stated what I wanted,"
"When there’s the King of Erandell in the picture, that first option of yours becomes Invalid. You wanted to become something out of the ordinary, and we gave you just that," Ren’s red eyes gave Theon a quick once over, and an amused look uplifted his eyes when he noticed something.
"If only you had told me I would have to compete with a god amongst gods!" Theon fired back angrily.
"You should have asked, prince!" There was this thick amount of mockery falling out of Ren’s every word, and he was always licking that injury every minute or so as if he was now obsessed with it.
"I can’t stand coming all the way here and still being oppressed just by his mere presence!" Theon fisted his hands Into balls, his muscles and veins bulging through his skin, "Is there anything else I can do? I need a higher level of power, one that surpasses..."
And Ren let out another wicked mockery-filled laughter that could make one want to tear out their eardrums and feed them to mountain lions. The laughter didn’t end, and lasted for more than thirty seconds till all Theon could do was fix his death gaze at him.
"When last did you look at your reflection in the mirror?" Ren finally asked, giving Theon another quick once over with a slight shake of his head.
Prince Theon couldn’t understand what Ren was trying to say, so he just kept looking at him.
"Let me talk to your master. You’re the unreasonable type." Theon suggested calmly.
"And who told you the master can see just anyone? Your link to the master is through me, so if you want anything..."
"There’s nothing wrong in letting us have a brief chitchat, insect," A familiar Fear-gripping and skin-crawling voice grumbled from inside the portal, which had everyone going as stiff as hell. Even Ren who was smirking all along had quickly composed himself into an obedient version of himself, while Aragon could feel his nerves picking up.
Aragon could suddenly hear his own loud heartbeat, and a sly smile formed on his face. There was only one person in the whole world who could stand in front of him as his equal, but it seems now there was a new ominous power reeking from the Portal that held new explorations that Aragon couldn’t wait to feast upon. Whatever or whoever it was...had to be the so-called Master.
The true mastermind behind it all.
Theon had also taken a proper stance, knowing any wrong move or words could decide his fate at that moment, but it still didn’t stop him from stating what he wanted, "I’ll do whatever I have to do, as long as I surpass Aragon Odysseus and have Raziah to myself." He said.
There was silence for a few seconds before the deep voice replied from inside again, "Don’t forget you’re a mere human, and you’ll stand exactly where I want you to!"
"Of course," Theon swallowed hard, "I’ll do anything, as long as I get what I want," Theon had already been swallowing with the need to get his revenge to actually see the doom looming in front of his life. He was giving it all away at the expense of nothing, and there’s nothing that could save himself at the end of it.
"If she becomes yours, the plan will still be in motion. She might be in your hands, but she’s still MY possession and mine to tame," The voice thundered out, and a deep chill ran through everyone’s spine.
Aragon knew he had to keep calm and listen to more of the conversation but knowing that they were talking about his wife, it was taking this crazy amount of self-control not to walk out of the tree and dive Into the portal to deal with the reeking dark presence of another creature in there.
"Everyone will get what they want," Theon glanced at the portal, and quickly took his gaze away feeling like whoever it was could see him through the suffocating darkness within, "I promise..." And Theon lowered his head in fear.
"Power comes with something equally grave," The voice warned.
"As long as I get what I want," Theon deadpanned.
"Good, now walk over here."
And Aragon knew that was his queue. What Prince Theon fails to realize is that it’s a give-and-take situation for him. Changing your nature comes with a lot of faults, and two different types of blood can never be allowed to mix, one of the major reasons why there can never be a mating relationship between a witch and a Vampire. Those that had stirred out of the right path and tried it have experienced what comes with that taboo. The balance between Vampires, Witches, and humans must always be kept, and everyone should always be aware that new things can arise because the supernatural community is still a sea of the unknown.
And Theon had made a big mistake. As he approached the portal, his body began to transform on its own. His green eyes transformed into a vampiric red shade because his body automatically needed to go into a higher mode of power just to withstand the level of engulfing presence the master had the closer Theon came to the opened portal. He had accepted to be turned into a Vampire a few days ago when he had been approached, but what he didn’t know was that it was killing him. Turning a mere human into a Vampire without a strong bond between both bloods and going through the appropriate processes would only kill you little by little, and Theon was already dying without even knowing.
Shooting out from behind the tree, Aragon was just about to take off and stop Theon from ruining his life even more. Ren’s eyes turned into light bulbs of red apprehension and fear when he sighted Aragon running towards them with that terrifying speed, and everything just happened in less than the blink of an eye.
And at that moment, Another shadow emerged out of the forest.
A man with Ebony skin almost came sprinting into the small crowd that was about to turn into a wild call for chaos.
