A monster whose instincts were all on to get rid of her.
That was the only feeling she could get from its low snarls, and hiss as it stalked her from behind a tree, watching her every movement. Raziah’s blood had ran warm, along with her surrounding because she knew she was in big trouble. She couldn’t even control whatever was happening to her, and that means she can’t risk and try to fight the monster barehanded.
The monster that seem to walk on two legs was hiding behind a tree, and she knew she had seen metallic dark eyes right before it had slammed into her harshly a second ago. She had heavily slammed into a tree by her shoulders, and the erupting pain had almost made her scream, but it was already healing because the pain was going down drastically.
But Raziah’s body wouldn’t listen to her. The ominous feeling told her that it was neither a vampire nor witch that was unto her, and the being was keeping itself in the dark, waiting for another perfect moment to strike. The wind was picking up again, dragging some leaves along with it. Raziah could still feel the wet moist sand all over her body, clothes, and hair and was suddenly glad for it because it made her almost unrecognizable to anyone she came across in this state...
What she feared was her scent. She could only hope the thickness of the stench over her body was enough to make it fade away for the time being until she was able to pick up herself once again. For now, she has a monster hiding in the shadows to deal with, and she couldn’t explain why she was trembling deep down, so badly. Was it because her own gut keeps telling her she was well aware of who the person is?
She backed herself against the tree, trying not to make even the slightest sound with her legs. With her breathing still hitched and eyes focused on the trees in front of her, and the darkness where the moonlight wasn’t reaching at all, Raziah’s heart jumped multiple times till it felt as if it was gonna break out.
Another guttural snarl came from behind the trees, and something inside her tumbled. It felt as if her next movement was gonna be her last, but what would she be if she isn’t gonna risk it after all keeping in one place and trying to run are still huge risks on their own, and whatever it is was still gonna attack to whatever she did.
And then, she sprinted off with cold legs.
And could hear it right behind her, covering up the distance between them in less than two seconds.
Whatever it was that came over her was more than Insanity because the only thing that took over her mind at that moment was the survival Instinct to live and make it through the night. Her death was coming, and she knew it... but not today.
There wasn’t enough strength in her legs, and the speed of the monster alone wouldn’t give her enough time to turn around, and raise her leg In time before it attacks her. Taking one quick step to the side, she managed to evade another heavy blow that would have snapped something else in her in a half, using the momentum of her blow to turn around and face the monster.
It’s like she already knew who it was right from the start, but the eyes that looked back at hers were like raging hellfire, rampaging craving to tear apart anything in its path, and a kind of evil look she’s never seen in his eyes before. She knew it was her husband the moment the wind had blown earlier, and his citrus scent had hit her lungs...and as she stared now...there was certainly no mistake.
Standing on two feet with a combination of dark eyes with red spots filling every corner that had her almost turning into a shivering mess, putting on this dark attire which had her recalling how he had introduced himself back at the cave Caius had been kidnapped to the night he confessed to her, and the hardness of his skin when she carried herself forward and collided her forehead with his.
He was a completely different person now, driven with only one mindset. And no matter how much she longed to make him understand he was attacking her, she didn’t want him to recognize her in this state. The sound of cracking bones was heard in the air as she stared deeply into his hate-filled eyes, directed at no one but her.
"Do I have to fight you?" Her voice was that of an incredibly weak woman, who was left with nothing but despair. She looked horrified, but not because of him but because she couldn’t even raise a hand anymore against him.
When a heavy blow that knocked the air out of her lungs made impact on her stomach and had her crashing into another faraway tree, the weighting pain almost had her laughing at herself.
She must be crazy to be thinking he would eventually stop.
Another wretched laughter left her mouth as she dragged herself to her staggering feet again, feeling like pulling out all strands of her hair. Something about the witch’s words earlier was making her turn into a mad woman, and she shook her head wickedly staring at the monster that was stalking her.
Why on earth would she be in love with a monster?
Why did she hesitate to really attack it earlier?
Why did she question herself to fight it?
If his drive was to get rid of her, then hers would be just the same. She would pull back all meaningless things holding her back from attacking him, take full advantage of the Red moon that gives her additional strength, and attack him with no reserve.
And if she was lucky enough, she might even find out what creature he is... And would be one step ahead of him.
