Chapter 126: Instinctively.

Clothes torn in every direction, blood dripping from every open wound that was taking longer time to heal, and the cruel instincts to massacre the opponent in front, they clashed again for the umpteenth time. He fought like a strong man, and it was taking everything, even in that heightened state of hers to evade most of his quick attacks that seem to be getting stronger and faster by the moment. His movements were almost too fast for her eyes to see, and that was what had led to so many injuries covering up her body.

His outstretched claws from his nails and legs were black, and the small cuts she had rained back on him were also taking their time to heal. He looked so murderous, uttering another low groan from his throat. His long dark hair was covering most of his face now, and it looked as if he wasn’t even breathing with the way he just stood still staring back at her.

Raziah glanced at the moon in front of her again, still reddish and up in the sky. She wondered how long it was gonna last for, because she could still feel herself undergoing even more transformations and she felt as if something else was gonna happen to her soon. It’s like she could literally feel how fast her blood was rushing up her veins and fueling her head so much it was driving her crazy. The insane itch from her wristband was still there, but right now she had something bigger in front of her to take care of.

When little droplets of water touched her skin, Raziah was forced to take a step back. If the rain began to fall heavily then it would wash away the scent of mud from her body and he would see and recognize she’s the one immediately.

What she was very confused about was if he was attacking her on purpose for some reason, or if he was just out of control just like she was feeling too. And if he’s attacking her on purpose, then that meant a lot. Raziah’s eyes flashed with anger as they glared at each other again. She could feel an incredible amount of warmth engulfing her from his presence, and the reddish spot that filled the dark void in his eyes was beginning to glow.

That wasn’t a good thing.

It looked as if he was spinning more and more out of control, or he was getting angrier.

And just like he seemed to be growing with rage, she began to go through her second stage of transformation. This time, she mustered all strength she could gather and channeled them to keep her legs standing upright while her heart began slamming ferociously against her ribcage. It’s like there was this sudden loud unbearable noise that filled her ears, turning her head into a pandemonium that had it rolling.

It was so terrible that she began to sway on her feet, hoping that her vision wouldn’t get impaired at least so she can see when he decides to attack her again. The strength of the rain droplets was beginning to pick up, and she needed some way to escape without getting caught. At least the scent of the rain alone would wash away her scent and that of her blood, but her face would be revealed which was what she was trying to avoid.

"It’s you..." A shatteringly deep voice left Aragon’s lips as he raised a hand and threw his damp long hair backward, revealing his whole face. That was when Raziah confirmed that her husband was fully in control of himself and his actions, and his eyes held this true revenge, all directed at her. As he had moved his hair backward, she sighted something peeking out through his neck and Wondered if it was mud or there was actually something crawling around his back.

"You’re still alive...!" He uttered again, and Raziah’s heart clenched badly. What did he mean by that? What was he trying to say?!

His words forced her to take a retreating step back, but he wasn’t gonna let her escape. The look in his eyes had thickened to a degree that sent different death messages to her, and sent her recoiling as a terrible chill rode down her spine just by standing in front of him.

And suddenly, she could hear the sound of his heartbeat. It was loud, severe, and pounding faster than hers. It’s like all her senses had heightened instantly because she could now hear the raindrops louder against her ear and the powerful rush of blood in both their bodies. Every intake of breath was loud, and whatever critter or animal present in the forest too was something she could easily pinpoint. The changes and rush going on inside her body came to a halt, and it made her feel more alive now that she could feel things much better than before.

But she wasn’t the only one who had gotten stronger. It was only the slight change in the air around she felt, and Instincts made her jump out of the way faster than anything else. Even her thoughts were too slow this time, and she barely made it out of the way as his abnormally long and darkly colored claws came straight for her, grazing a little deeply into her shoulders.

The pain that came from the cut was Insanely painful, as if his fingers had been fortified with fire meant to burn out her flesh. It was very much different from the ones he gave her last time, and Raziah’s face churned in pain as blood spilled out of the injury.

But just because she jumped out of the way didn’t mean she was out of harm’s way because she was barely three inches away from him, close to landing on her feet when her instincts took over again.

He wasn’t just fast. His reflexes were incredible, and she could already sight his feet turning in her direction, trying to catch her off guard while she was still in mid-air. Everything was happening so fast she saw it purely as a miracle how she can keep fighting, and how she was still alive till that point.

She knew she had to stop his quick momentum somehow before he completely faces her because she had jumped back into a spot she thought might be one of his blind spots, and that was behind him even though he was already trying to face her. And that was when she saw something happening to his cloth.

They were... melting. It was hard to believe, but steam was literally oozing out of his back and his dark attire was dragging across his back and was falling to the ground, revealing something that had her eyes stretching open.

She had seen something like it the night they had gone to save him while they had run toward the waterfall, something like a burnt mark on the back of his neck while he had held her in his arms, and as they fought a second ago she had thought they was something crawling and peeking from the sides of his neck... But now that she could see his back so clearly, Raziah could only gawk.

What the hell was that?!

It’s like his back was a lost cave of wonders and secrets, having so many drawings and writings that filled every corner. She knew he was a man of many secrets, but his back had just blown her away right now. The steam was still coming out, and she hadn’t yet evaded his super-fast reflexes completely. She was just so surprised at what she was staring at.

But there was hardly any time to try and interpret what she was looking at, so she slammed her palm on his back instead to push herself further away from him. A low hiss shrouded from their skin-to-skin contact, like heat trying to melt cold and Raziah’s body followed in a wild convulsion.

She was lucky his bare claws barely missed her again as she had propelled herself backward again, but that physical contact had sent another shocking electrifying feeling spinning her into a world. Another one of her visions took over her as she fell to the ground, vibrating uncontrollably with pure white eyes widely opened.

The images were slightly blurry, but she could see herself standing somewhere unfamiliar. Her surrounding was even blurrier as she looked around, but a groan had her looking to the ground. Raziah turned still when she saw Aragon lying there in his own pool of blood, with a dagger having a crystal handle deeply embedded into his chest. He was laid there, barely breathing with no movement from him whatsoever. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

His blue eyes looked horrified as he stared into a distance, blood running down his lips while the color in his eyes began to disappear. Raziah couldn’t watch anymore. She wanted to close her eyes but she couldn’t move any part of her body aside from her neck. She swallowed tightly, a huge lump settling on her throat. Why was she seeing this? Why is her vision showing her this? When did this happen?!

Footsteps approached, and someone stopped in front of her husband. She looked up to see a man, a man who had almost the same dark eyes her husband possessed today.

"You’ll only die for nothing," The man was looking very pale, like there was hardly any blood flowing through his veins. He was... dying.

"Your Nemesis has already stolen the wish from the tree a while ago." And his voice was emotionless and lowly deep, "And you’re the perfect embodiment I’ve been looking for to regain my territory again. It might take a while, but let us help each other." He crouched down and pressed his fingers close to the dagger, blood coating his hands too, "And once I do, I’ll make your wish come true... And bring him back to life!"
