Chapter 127: The Time Isn’t Right

Now she was running for her life.

Raziah had barely escaped from the electrifying memories she had gotten from him and had decided she needed to fend him off somehow. The droplets of rain were getting heavier and it won’t be too long before the mud is washed off her body. But he was right on her tail. No matter how much faster she ran, she could never outrun someone so maniacally bent on ending her life like it was his life’s mission.

She tried to keep herself from thinking back on what she saw in her vision regarding him and the other person, and the raw feel of her trembling body reminded her once again that her transformations weren’t over yet. Her vision was getting clearer and clearer by the minute, but the deadline was that she wasn’t used to this extreme change and fighting that it was already taking a heavy toll on her body and it didn’t take long before her legs began to slow down on their own.

She was getting tired, and only noticed how slow she had gotten when her peripheral vision took in his Statue running just a foot behind her, and a fist just about to take her out.

Trees were rushing past them in a blur, and Raziah could now feel the unconsciousness kicking in, but it gave her one last chance. Maybe she was wrong about this sudden transformation lasting till the Red Moon went down since it was clear she was this close to losing her footing. Pushing all that aside for that chaos in time, she immediately spun her legs so she was facing him while her legs started screeching to a halt. In a flash, she had taken her right leg into the air and slammed it on his chest as hard and as powerful as her strength could muster.

The kick was so powerful she was almost glad to spot a few blood drops coming out of his mouth, but he wasn’t going down that easily. Claws suddenly dug into that same leg that was just about to propel him back into the night, and she could feel it so deep inside her calves that it had gotten a firm hold of her bone like he was planning to tear off her leg the moment she forces him backward.

Her face twisted and recoiled in severe pain, but she gritted her teeth and grabbed his wrist before he did more damage to her leg. She tightened her grip around his hand till she could feel him almost loosening up a bit, at the same time wondering why he wasn’t using his other arm to attack her. His movements there were a bit confusing...was there something wrong with his other arm?

Raziah immediately kicked off her feet, gnawing in the unreal pain that came from her wounded leg as she slammed hard into the side of his face. Her eyes flew open to see he had finally used that other arm to block her leg from his face, which had her instantly understanding how much the man had been calmly reading her throughout their battle. He now knew that her attacks were always calculated, and she could quickly think about her next move in the midst of an intense battle.

But Raziah has always trusted her kicks. It was still enough to propel him back even though he had blocked it, but another moan of pain was torn out of her mind with the way his claw and fingers ripped through her skin just before he flew back into the darkness.

And then, she felt something new and ominous in the air. Something that had its hands wrapped around her waist, and gave her a floating kind of feeling. Raziah forced herself to see what it was, barely making out something red dancing in the wind that had picked up due to the rain. The person’s skin was Olive in color, and there was something like dandelions shimmering in his eye.

Just as she was about to fall into the realm of unconsciousness and cold, The person who seemed to have taken her away gave her a quick glance and watched as her hair grew longer, its golden streaks taking up new wings in the night. Her Cold grew even more stronger than before, and he knew if she was awake right now she would have felt a surge of power like nothing before.

His movements were sharp and incredibly agile as he whipped past trees with movements that had the wind having a hard time catching up to them. Eyes and senses scanned through the night to make sure no one was following them. That kick to Aragon’s chest his dear wife had delivered had slowed him down for just a few seconds, which had been fully taken advantage of to get far away from him, and the heavy rain falling right now wouldn’t give Aragon a chance to follow them using their scents.

Once he was sure they were now totally safe for landing, The man dropped from the trees he had been running through and onto the ground, where he sheltered them under a huge tree even though drops of water were still making their way through. As much as he wanted to take her back with him right now, it just wasn’t the right time and so he had to wake her up.

Shaking her to consciousness wouldn’t do as he set her down, her back resting on the tree. He then took a finger and pressed it on her nape, hard till the waves of heat that flowed through her body was something she couldn’t ignore anymore, forcing her back to reality again.

Raziah’s fist had already stretched out about to blow him away, still reeling from the last fight when her eyes pierced into his dandelion-colored ones, instead of the dark savage, and bloodthirsty one. She paused right before she hit him, and let her hands fall back to her sides.

Fortunately for both of them, The man with ebony skin was the one person Raziah would not attack. Instead, she just sat there and watched him disappear back into the night. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

"I guess the time still isn’t right," she mumbled under her breath before taking a look around her. She hadn’t noticed her hair yet, but her heightened senses were calmer now notifying her she was in a safe spot. That final transformation had cool down again, so Raziah didn’t feel anything different than before.

Her mind was directed to her aching leg, which had stopped bleeding on its own. Maybe the rain had washed away most of the blood because if she was healing, she would have known or felt the process by now. Wondering why nothing had changed about her leg, she threw her head to the sky and let out a guttural groan.

The pain from the wound was not something she could explain, ever!

She had managed to drag herself into a nearby cave after a while, sitting down almost close to the entrance as she forced herself to bite down on her torn clothes to keep herself from screaming and alerting others of her location. Why wasn’t it healing?? Her broken fingers and all the Injuries she had sustained so far were gone, so why wasn’t the one that hurt the most not even showing any signs of closing up? Was there something different about the attack? Now that she thought about it, it was the next one he had burned into her after that strange steam began oozing out of his skin.

"Princess??.." A small familiar voice whispered into the night, making Raziah clench her fist again. It would be horrible if anyone saw her in that state, but as she looked up to see who it was that had also been in the cave with her all this while without her sensing its presence, the pain from her injury seem to fade from the sight that greeted her.

Aletta. It was definitely Aletta... but she looked different.

Very, very different. She wasn’t putting on her cloak anymore, and even if she had been, it won’t be able to hide the fact that the Red Moon tonight had also done something to her.
